I have to keep reminding myself that KRPKAB is pure fiction and the imagination of people with a limited sense of creativity as compared to the Supreme Creator. What i saw today, prompted me to ponder real life situations and how they have been dealt with. There may be so many Sona's and Dev's out there in the world today, who are truly in love and who may have some challenging situation facing them. Do they take the path of separation as we have seen? Thankfully KRPKAB is fiction.
1. it is not necessary that what we see is always the complete truth.. There could be something else. I for one believe that what Dev did was absolutely, without an iota of doubt, brutal. I am tempted to judge him and condemn him, but i have to stop short and ask myself - is it so easy as an open and shut case? we can judge a person on the face of what he or she has done. Even a kid can do that. However, judging people when it comes to matters of the heart is an all-together different ball game.
2. What did we see today.. Dev, an emotionally traumatized man breaking the heart of his soulmate. We saw Sona who in equal measure, if not more, also in a state of emotional trauma and shattered. We saw a family in pain.. absolutely no doubt about that. Dev has hurt Sona and her family immeasurably. We all think rightfully that Dev truly does not deserve Sona. So Case closed!! in real life too such things happen but with differing results. In KRPKAB, the creatives chose to separate the two, when they did not have to (i have said this in my umpteen posts thus far).
3. Human Creatives can only visualize and present to us a lop-sided story that actually play with our emotions in a very intense manner. Unfortunately, such cases are not an open and shut case. We are made to look on such situations in the context of a victim and a victimizer. Example, Sona the victim and Dev the Victimizer. But is this really true in the eyes of the creator who does not see as we human beings see. The fact is HE sees the heart. When HE sees, HE sees two pure and clean hearts - as ONE.
4. Today, we saw one heart bleeding due to hurt and needing comfort. It is also true that we saw another heart causing the hurt. What we may not have seen is this heart too bleeding. This heart too needs comfort. The victim gets comfort from others only naturally. The victimizer does not get any comfort and is left all alone. Both hearts reach out to their ONE creator in the deepest of cries (What cannot be expressed in words, comes out in tears and this is the wonder and marvel of GOD's creation). What does HE then do? I leave it to the imagination and belief of each one's faith.
5. My faith tells me that GOD is merciful and most gracious. "Sinners" (like "Dev"), coming to GOD, with a genuine cry for forgiveness are not shut out. It is said in my faith, it is better to fall into the hands of GOD than into the hands of man! Reason - with GOD there is mercy! I am more than convinced that if a "victimizer"' like Dev turns to his creator with tears beyond words, he will find forgiveness and redemption. If Sona, the "victim", turns to the same creator, with tears beyond words, she will find grace to forgive, to heal, to unite.
6. Human creatives think of separation and divide (unfortunately Dev and Sona are no more together). In GOD's realm of things, once HE brings together, NO ONE can break apart. I have seen in my lifetime, people who were destined to be together, go through the worst situations akin to hell ( Dev and Sona are nothing in comparison!)... but still remain firmly together.
7. As an aside, here are a few experiences (very sure that many of you must have seen similar or even more wonderful experiences) in my life time , under my very eyes. when i ponder on these experience i am in awe and wonder at the unique handiwork of the supreme creator and believe that what he has brought together, he will keep together. His plan changeth not!
- A 22 year old boy, who lost his father when he was 10, attracted leukemia. He was advised by doctors against marriage. Reason, his prospective wife would be the victim of uncertainty and social stigma. This boy finds love at work, a very understanding girl, who obviously goes through hell from her family, for her choice of groom. They surmount many obstacles, get married and settle down. They were destined to be together through thick and thin. Two years of intense struggle.
- a staunch hindu brahmin girl, the eldest of 4 girls, falls in love with a muslim boy, her classmate. The families give both of them hell, especially the brahmin girl. It was unimaginable trauma for the girl, threats to life, social ostracising, family backlash, emotional blackmail, etc. The girl with grit, determination and love, converts to islam (making so many of her family members squirm) marries the boy and is now settled abroad with 2 wonderful kids. They were destined to be together through thick and thin. 6 years of intense stuggle
- A young christian boy, youngest in a family of 4 brothers, a mother's pet, always clinging to his mom, and thought to be the emotionally weakest, never wanting to marry, falls in love with a girl much older than him (7 years older) and from a much poorer family. The love is so strong that no one, not even the parents, nor social ostracizing, threats, blackmail, can separate the two, they get married and settle down. They were destined to be together through thick and thin. 4 years of intense struggle.
I love KRPKAB, but i am glad it is fiction and so can afford to disagree with some of what i am seeing. it need not have been this way.
