Hello 😳
I hope no one's offended with what I am going to say - just trying to bring across another point of view.
Yes, what Anika said was correct, and I guess is was purely a defense mechanism on her part because although, she is ready to "start anew" with Shivaay, she cannot forget what happened between them. It's one thing I am liking about her because more often than not, you see people on shows forgetting everything after a "Sorry" - it's not that easy. Wounds need time to heal. But then, I think it wasn't really warranted in that moment 😕 Isn't it standard to fill in your whole name in such cheques? He didn't mean it as an insul. Though, okay, as I wrote above, she's unable to forget the past and the question, however harmless, triggered her. It's somewhat understandable, I guess.
What I really didn't like of her speech was her implication that Shivaay has nothing to be proud of because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Leaving aside the fact that I'm sure the Oberois hadn't always been this filthy rich, it's a fact that the Oberoi Empire has two pillars: Tej and Shivaay. If someone was born into a rich family and did nothing but live off his family's money and be still proud and show attitude over it, yes, you can tell them they had a lucky lot with the family they were born into. But someone who, despite being rich, clearly is still working hard (without that you wouldn't remain rich, now, would you?) and bringing his family business even to greater heights as the days pass, shouldn't be told that all he has is a family name given to him by luck. True - but that's not all Shivaay has. Yes, he isn't like Om a self-made crore pati, yes, he doesn't have to struggle to find a job like Anika has- but taking the responsibility of half an Empire like the Oberois' isn't a small thing (and Shivaay seems to have taken up responsibilities very early on in his life). Although, Tej handles the business well, if not for Shivaay the Empire wouldn't be standing this strong, today. He doesn't live off his parents' money, he works hard for his own (even if we don't see it, LOL).
Taking away the credit for his hard work was the one part of her speech I honestly disliked. And it seems that if Shivaay has his misconceptions about "lower class" people (which he needs to change badly), so does Anika to a certain degree about the rich, thinking that they have it easy in life 😕
Well, am glad that their story is now moving forward, at least 😆 Hope I didn't offend anyone here 😳
Peace!
❤️
