Being proud is one thing and being obsessed is other.
The world doesn't revolve around the Oberoi's and I agree with all what she said. Why is a person judged on the basis of family name? What about individuality?

Being proud of one's surname is okay, even Om and Rudra are proud to be Oberois but demeaning and belittling someone else because you have a great family background is rude. Being born in a rich influential family is no achievement, it's the achievement of our ancestrors, not us. If Anika was born into a rich influential family like Oberois even she would be as rich as Shivay, so there is nothing to be boasting about it. By this I don't mean to say Shivay hasn't achieved anything by himself, he has done, he has retained the empire prosperous, he is effiently carrying out what was started by his grandfather. But he didn't have to start from scratch, he had a already established industry in his hand and he is taking it further. It's purely his luck or lottery as Anika says, to be born in a rich family and hence be rich.

This was one of my fav dialogues of Annika! Shivaay just stood there dumbstruck and later got super angry as she left. 😆 Tomorrow he's gonna unleash his anger on other people. :(

I really loved that scene and for a change makers kept it natural without any comedy, anger. The great Shivay Singh Oberoi was speechless, this man is gonna fall very hard, very very hard for Annika-without surname. The way he was quite and seemed like contemplating on Annika's words I felt he would really start to change his approach towards naam, pehchan, maa-baap kya karte hai but alas! the precap he is chanting same thing
I would like to see Annika retaining her name as just Annika even after being wife of Shivay, because her name is her pride, she doesn't need to add a Oberoi only because she happens to be wife of a Oberoi. I really wish to see this.

Well said.

Bold = I want same ,cause this make Anika different from other typical one .

Hello 😳

I hope no one's offended with what I am going to say - just trying to bring across another point of view.

Yes, what Anika said was correct, and I guess is was purely a defense mechanism on her part because although, she is ready to "start anew" with Shivaay, she cannot forget what happened between them. It's one thing I am liking about her because more often than not, you see people on shows forgetting everything after a "Sorry" - it's not that easy. Wounds need time to heal. But then, I think it wasn't really warranted in that moment 😕 Isn't it standard to fill in your whole name in such cheques? He didn't mean it as an insul. Though, okay, as I wrote above, she's unable to forget the past and the question, however harmless, triggered her. It's somewhat understandable, I guess.

What I really didn't like of her speech was her implication that Shivaay has nothing to be proud of because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Leaving aside the fact that I'm sure the Oberois hadn't always been this filthy rich, it's a fact that the Oberoi Empire has two pillars: Tej and Shivaay. If someone was born into a rich family and did nothing but live off his family's money and be still proud and show attitude over it, yes, you can tell them they had a lucky lot with the family they were born into. But someone who, despite being rich, clearly is still working hard (without that you wouldn't remain rich, now, would you?) and bringing his family business even to greater heights as the days pass, shouldn't be told that all he has is a family name given to him by luck. True - but that's not all Shivaay has. Yes, he isn't like Om a self-made crore pati, yes, he doesn't have to struggle to find a job like Anika has- but taking the responsibility of half an Empire like the Oberois' isn't a small thing (and Shivaay seems to have taken up responsibilities very early on in his life). Although, Tej handles the business well, if not for Shivaay the Empire wouldn't be standing this strong, today. He doesn't live off his parents' money, he works hard for his own (even if we don't see it, LOL).

Taking away the credit for his hard work was the one part of her speech I honestly disliked. And it seems that if Shivaay has his misconceptions about "lower class" people (which he needs to change badly), so does Anika to a certain degree about the rich, thinking that they have it easy in life 😕

Well, am glad that their story is now moving forward, at least 😆 Hope I didn't offend anyone here 😳

Peace!
❤️

Anika was hurt by Shivaay and she is reacting can understand but at the wrong time. Shivaay feels family is important for upbringing which is true but that doesn't mean all are like that but you cannot contest that family has the biggest influence on a person whoever it is.
In Anika's case she has been behaving OTT which proves his point...also she keeps saying you are proud about being Shivaay Singh Oberoi there is nothing to be proud well that is not right. He has every right to be, he is hard working in keeping the oberoi empire running and most importantly his family together and happy. It shows her prejudice...

She keeps saying to Shivay often ' thadi marthi hi ho' well doesn't she do the same thing every given opportunity.

Like I said before, being proud is good, on and Rudra are too but Shivaay is acting obsessed. To him it's like Oberoi's rule everything.
What I am talking about is that judging a person on the basis of surname is wrong, why is the surname so important why cant we just accept Anika or anybody else without a surname?

Though Anika reacted late but its good that she did and even now Shivaay didn't realize the depth of Anika's words. She was hurt and whatever she did is reasonable to me and it was so bit OTT. It was OTT when she was expecting Shivaay to thank her and apologize but not this time.

And Shivaay himself hadn't earned Oberoi name. That's ask his grandfather, father and Tej uncle's doing which he is just working on efficiently. The Oberoi elite isn't the result of Shivaay's hard work only while Anika earns whatever she earns by working hard and alone, she isn't a heiress.

About the "tadi maarna" remark, "Shivaay Singh Oberoi is this and that and nature can't control Shivaay Singh Oberoi" now what's that. She does that in a joking way but yesterday it got serious.

They talked about "Earning" ones name. Handling something efficiently that is already flourished is different than starting it from the scratch.

People may have different view about her but everything she said last night send reasonable to me. It was perfect, everything was perfect.
