Difference between intersex and transgender

I'm sick of reading articles and forum posts that describe soumya's character as transgender. I wish we'd educate ourselves more before making presumptions and false statements.

Let's look at the difference between a transgender and an intersex.

Transgender: someone who doesn't identify with their assigned sex. For example, soumya would be a transgender if she grew up looking like a female but identified herself as a male. She would think like a male and would feel trapped in the body of a female. Or think harman - he'd be born as a normal male however, would identify himself as a female. He'd want to do everything a female does. Dress up like one, act like one etc. And guess what - if he has a surgery and post treatment to look feminine, he'd be what we call a "transgender".

Intersex, on the other hand, is a term given to someone who is neither a male nor female - PREDOMINANTLY because of their reprpductive organ. You can do further research on that 😊

Sure, transgender is commonly mistaken as someone like soumya because of its various definitions. But I hope this helps you differentiate between the two. I hope you can decide exactly who soumya is.

😆😆😆 Dear ! everyone here knows this that Saumya is IS but every time a new member enters in this forum he/she is confused bcz they haven't watched the episodes nor researched about the concept of TG/IS 😛 So most probably everyone is now aware that the lead is not TG

N India they use kinnar for both as there is no term fir Intersex in hindi

Hope makers clarify properly n educate people about Intersex condition which is also curable in certain cases... This will be something new from Indian audience bcoz even most of the members were introduced to Intersex term first time during this show
