Shahnaz Rizwan blames some of her co-stars for rumours of her and screen son Karan Patel's abrupt exit from the show.
It was alleged that she had returned to London as she was miffed with the show's producers , Balaji Telefilms over payment issues. She insists that's not the case. "While most people on the show get paid every three months, the makers ensure I get my remuneration every month. Certain artistes are jealous that in spite of having lived in London all my life, I am completely comfortable here. They are insecure about my popularity and skills. They talk about me behind my back and have spread the rumours, but I don't care. I don't want to take names. I am close to some people; Anita Hassanandani is one of them," she tells a leading tabloid.
On the other hand, Karan's publicist confirmed to the paper that he is not leaving the show anytime soon either. The actor, who essays the role of Raman Kumar Bhalla on the show, had triggered speculations of his impending exit with a social media post: " Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is and will always be my connection to you ... # RKB ho na ho ... The Show Must Go On." Emotional fans then sent out messages to the channel and production house to retain him at any cost.
Karan later cleared the rumours on Twitter. His publicist says, " His [ first] tweet was just his way of telling fans that his connection with loved ones goes beyond the show, and whether or not Raman is there, he will still be connected to them. Speculation about his exit is baseless."
