What's better? A solo non-holiday release? Or a holiday clash?

For me every day is pretty much a holiday since I hardly go to theatre to watch.

Holiday clash if you are able to come to agreement with the other party regarding the division of screens and all that imo.. Because I cannot even think of going to movies on a non holiday usually

Solo release is always better than a clash. The holiday benefit is either negated or heavily minimized with a clash because you lose out on screens.

Of course, 100+cr high budget movies probably need holidays to recover their investment.

But when two film clashes there, I think the smaller film always benefits more. So if makers are really confident of their film, they can go ahead and release. Of course it's a risk. But risks do pay off well.. case in point the Haider Bang Bang clash.
