I know a lot of people are already talking about this, but I really, REALLY wanted to make a post too. So far, I have loved all three main characters in different ways - Ishwari a lot less than Dev and Sona of late, I must admit, lol - but today, I take a bow before Sonakshi as one of the best written female characters I have had the pleasure of watching on Indian television in a very long time.

She is every bit as human as a 25-year-old girl needs to be, and yet she has so much integrity and so much dignity that I really genuinely admire her for who she is. In any other show, you would have the girl overhearing what Ishwari and GKB were talking about and keeping it inside to fester till it came out in some bizarre way that made for some solid melodrama. But not Sona. She heard, she felt and she came right ahead and said what she wanted to. There is an earnestness to her in that scene that really floored me. Just as Dev is clear-hearted, so is she. That's one massive commonality between the two of them - jo dil mein hai, woh muh pe hai. There is no artifice, no manipulation that dictates when she chooses to mention that she heard what they were saying about her and Dev...there is no tempering of responses according to convenience. What's in there is out there, and it is really such a pity that Ishwari is so blinded by her insecurities that she can't see in Sona the best thing that has ever happened to her son.

I must also add that I love how she holds her ground before Dev. And in telling Dev about Ishwari knowing how bad the halwa was, she is neither accusatory not dramatic. She's hurt and is sharing that with him without trying to soften it. I loved that about her today. I also loved how beset by doubt she was right after she left him and came home. And I also loved how she had it in her to admit to Ishwari that the fact of her not being in the picture hurt her too, even if she may not have let that be obvious at the time.

Basically, I love Sonakshi for a lot of things in general, but I love her a little more today and as much as my heart goes out to her, the best part is that I do not feel sorry for her - because I KNOW that she's a strong enough woman to hold her own in any situation life throws her way. If anything, I find myself feeling proud of her for being who she is.

You have captured they key aspects of Sona's character brilliantly! Yes, even i now feel that no matter what Mr Dev Dixit flings at her, she an take it.. yes, she will be shattered, heartbroken.. but she will rise like the Phoenix..

i really pity the Dixits instead.. they have only one direction to go.. down.. remorse, regret..pain.. the3 Bose family is strong, supportive, practical and extremely well balanced... the Dixit family is a set of moron's, selfish, lacking wisdom, may have riches but are extremely poor...

I loved every word that VIjay Bose spoke to Sona.. that is me in real life.. so very close to my heart...

She's the reason I started watching this show and she will remain the reason I watch it till its last episode. She defines the ideal modern independent woman of today. I had pride in my eyes when I saw her politely get her point across to Ishwari without sugar coating anything. My mom who was sitting next to me was also super impressed with her. What a refreshing change to see such a strong character. I've always maintained that I love the character of Dr Sonakshi Bose and that she's the best female character I've seen on Indian television in a long long time. Today, she proved me right. Sonakshi 1 Ishwari 0👏

Sonakshi was fabulous today. One thing about Sonakshi that makes me admire her is her originality.Shez not fake. She knows what She's doing and always stands by her decisions.
I loved how she told Ishwariji that they both (Devakshi) were hurt by the family photograph. She didn't mind telling Ishwariji about her and Dev's decisions of being into each other's lives. She never sugar coats her words.👏

I so totally agree with you on the Dixits being the ones who deserve pity. They're treating this girl with so much insensitivity, and she's still genuinely attempting to make them see reason and understand what she's really about. As much as losing her is a loss to Dev, it is also a loss to his family, in so many ways. I hope they realise that someday.

Sonakshi character is giving us chance to learn many things being a women being a gf or being a daughter...

Really hard off to the writer who ks giving such a god script for her character..

I too really like this character. I think break up is needed for Dev to understand the fact and realise the truth of his mother. Sonakshi is a strong lady she can manage in any situation. But its time for Dev to pay the price. This separation will make Dev to fall in love with sona again.
