Guys I'm watching Oshin, a Japanese drama of the 80's that used to air on doordarshan. It is a very very popular drama all over the world. They have eng subs on YT. Please do watch. It is a very emotional and heart- wrenching drama of a 7 yr old girl that teaches you perserverence. I'm crying my eyes out watching this. ðŸ˜
Tells the story of Oshin, a poor little girl who would someday become the owner of a big supermarket chain in Japan.
It has been broadcasted in more than 58 nations including countries such as Singapore, Belgium, Thailand and Iran. The drama itself and the flood of commentary that has followed its release have led to a broader understanding throughout the world of what the real Japan' is!
Oshin', as you probably know, is the depiction of one woman's life from a young girl to when she was eighty-two years old. In 1901, she was born as the third daughter to a farmer in the uppermost section of Yamagata Prefecture's Mogami River. As part of a large family, every day was an intense struggle to feed the family and survive, so at the age of six, Oshin was sent to work as a babysitter for a timber dealer's family in exchange for one bag of rice. From there her life took her down a road of trials and tribulations. A few years of relative happiness would be followed by a terrible loss.
