Girls, this is an official call for the veterans who have watched more than 100 dramas by now... and I'm sceptical as to say whether I'm glad or should I hide myself somewhere but still I would keep searching for more and more dramas... three years of my addiction caused me many losses which weren't affordable but I'm glad I did it as it was what my heart called out for and then I've absorbed many valuable lessons of life from these dramas...
So let us all veterans join here and connect our personal experiences... ofc with K-dramas

i never counted but i think i have watched 100 or more or few less .

Istarted watching it since 2014 ,so its almost two years and now i watch normally Korean drama ,sometimes do watch Indian Chinese, Japanese ,Hollywood and British as well .

I am an Indian so I have grown up watching Indian dramas and Bollywood and Hollywood movies. Korean was my first non Indian Asian drama experience and after that now Korean is my first priority.

I dont remeber which was the first korean drama I watched . But there r few which I watch again and AGAIN

Like

  • W- Two worlds : Its ongoing Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo drama . Jong -suk is the hero from comic book who has capacity to travel into real world . Hyo-joo is a fan and to her shock she meets her hero . What follows is a adventurous drama where u keep guessing what next. ?? Great Chemistry,Great story and lot of kisses. U cannot ask more .Just watch it and rewatch and watch it till it ends and then rewatch it again !!!!

  • Master's Sun : I loved So Ji -sub as a cynical, cold ,money loving Master with strong will power and Gong Hyo -jin as a woman as bright Sun whose brightness attracts Ghosts !! Loved the way she followed her Master Ji -sub around just coz by touching him she could get rid of ghosts and their horror !! And how slowly master falls for this Sun and becomes a caring man.

  • I hear your Voice : This Noona romance is something I love. Lee Jong Suk and his cuteness is killing . His love for Lee Bong-young is unending. The orphan kids grows up strong to fulfill his promise to protect , made to a girl 10 years older then him . And how he goes around her waiting to be recognised and loved . Plus he has special power to read minds ,due to which he always knows who r his friend and enemies. .
  • Cain and Abel : I watched it for So Ji-sub. i can watch it again . His character goes through lot of treagedies due to his brother. but Ji-sub always wins due to his persistence and heart that never looses innocense . I love Ji-sub.

  • Pinoccio : Lee Jong-suk here is again cute and mature just like IHYV .here his special power is super Memory and high IQ. Their r many other good things in show as well . But i watched it purely coz it has Lee Jong-suk :-)

  • Faith : I loved starting scene where Dr. Kim Hee-sun is kidnapped by a Goryeo Soldier Lee Min-ho who time travels to find a doctor who could treat his king and the rest adventure that follows. best part of the show is that leads get a happy ending .

  • Personal Taste : I loved So Ye-jin ,though her character is a bit OTT and her chemistry with handsome Lee Min-ho whom she thinks is a gay !! The show has everything that a kdrama lover wants .

  • You Are Beautiful : A all boy Kpop band who gets a new member . Wait this memeber is a girl disguised as boy.(Park Shin-hye).Rest of story is predictable. Here i loved Jang Keun -suk as a self loving Kpop idol who always wants be the best but then he falls hard for this new memeber and discovers her identity and becomes a good man while protecting her.

  • Arang and the Megistrate: Shin Min-ah is a great as ghostess Arang . I love her free spirited acting . She discovers Magistrate played by Lee Joon-gi can see her ,so requests him to help her find her lost memory so that she can be liberated. We have all kdrama moments between leads and its a romantic roller coaster ride .

  • Hotel King : Lee Dong-wook is a great actor . I just discovered it after i saw this drama. It's a melodrama with happy ending where hero had a traumatic childhood and heroine Lee da-hae is a spoilt hairess who suddely becomes orphan due to her father's death . What follows is revenge ,mentorship , sizzling chemistry and romance between leads . Worth watch ,repeat and repaet .

  • My Girl : Hero Lee Dong-wook is a Chaebol and heroine Lee Da -hae a tourist guide . Heroine takes refuge in hero's Villa which often is empty. Once hero comes back and finds ...well story is quit typical but is made special by Doong-wook and da-hae who chemistry became a big hit.

  • I can hear your Heart : A deaf hero Kim Jae-won with a loving adoptive brother and a possesive chaebol Mom . A heroine Hwang Jung-eum with a mentally challanged adoptive father which gives her patience and capacity to feel the emotions and hear once heart. It's no speacial power ,it's just her love for people that makes her special .Both brothers fall for her . Show has many intresting twists and turns . A worth watch and double watch .

  • Shinning Inheritence: I love Han Hyo-joo and her smile is so intoxicating. Typical Kdrama made special by cute and work holic Han Hyo- joo and tardy and relutent Lee Seung-gee

  • You Are My Pet : A Noona romance with a twist . A bold concept but very beautifully picturised. Jang Keun-suk acts really cute as pet and Kim Ha -neul is so so beautiful Noona

  • Always: Story of Blind Han Hyo-joo and ex convict and boxer So Ji-sub. It did seem like it will have a tragic end but no love wins . I wont give more spoiler all i know it is a love story with happy ending and great chemistry between leads.

I wish to hear other veterans and their choices and reasons :-)

Count me in. I have seen a LOOOT of shows...so many that I've lost count...and I don't regret it one bit. I think there are others who have been watching Kdramas for longer ( five years or more ), so there's no need for you to hide somewhere. 100 sounds like a lot but it really isn't.😳 If you keep watching for a couple of years, you'll easily exceed the 100 mark. The format of kdramas make it easier for people to keep watching one drama after another. I prefer this format of Asian shows ( K, J, TW and C ) to the seasons format of American shows. It doesn't take much time to finish one show and I can rewatch my favorite dramas whenever I want.

And kdramas come in all genres...that's a blessing for someone like me who loves everything from romcoms to melodramas to thrillers to action.

I first got introduced to kdramas in 2013 when someone told me about Playful Kiss. I watched a bit of it but didn't continue. I was hung up on something else at that time so I dropped it. After a break, I started again in 2014 with other dramas and continued. Later, I finished Playful Kiss but didn't like it at all. In fact, it's one of my most hated shows.😆

Watching Kdramas was a bit awkward at first. I obviously didn't understand the language and had to depend on the subs. I had no idea how to pronounce the names. But I got used to it quickly and I started picking up different words. Now Korean feels like my own language although I only still understand about 8-10%. I have even learnt Korean songs.

Anyways, Kdramas have become a staple for me...I literally can't live without them.

Playful Kiss for me was a bit different... I started K-dramas with the most obvious BOF after which I watched Playful Kiss and din't like it at all but recently when I got bored I re-watched few episodes of it and felt it wasn't that bad... but I guess BOF is the only drama I truly din't like even though it was my intro to K-D's...

I too watch almost all genres but there's a single condition that it shouldn't take all of my heart... I couldn't watch Gaktisal as I felt too distressed after watching about 4-5 epi's... and I could hardly gather myself to complete The Princess Man... and also Nice Guy is another drama which was hard for me as I felt too bad for Maru

Music really has no boundary. Kdrama OST are beautiful and I find them so soothing. The songs are nice but I also love the instrumentals they make for these dramas. K - indie music is great too. I got introduced to some great Korean Indie bands/artists thanks to kdrama OSTs. I don't listen to a lot of Kpop...but their are some good ones too.

I prefer BOF to Playful Kiss. I so was irritated while watching the first epi, that I couldn't understand why it was so popular. But I slowly started enjoying it and got bored again in the second half. It just dragged and was filled with a lot of nonsensical stuff. They could have done away with JiHoo's grandfather's storyline...it was totally unnecessary and made no difference to the actual storyline. I wish they had given more scenes to Woobin and F4. The drama was all over the place and could have easily been made into a 20 epi drama instead of 24. But then I watched it again...and still liked the parts I liked before. So I kind of like it and dlslike it at the same time.

I just didn't like the lead girl in PK. I started warming up towards her a bit in the end..but they messed it up again in the short YT episodes. I liked her friends though...especially the second lead guy.

Oh, but Gaksital is a beautiful drama. It is really distressing but I still found it worth watching. No matter how many dramas I watch it will always be on my top 5. Nice Guy was distressing too...but I liked it as well...except for the last epi. I loved the leads and their chemistry...even the other girl. Didn't watch Princess Man.

Been watching K dramas for 6-7 years give or take, I think lol and I've watched SO MANY K drama's. I think I understand SK and their culture more than my own. 🤣
My fav show has to be

1. Answer me 1997: It's a wonderful show, very simple romcom with a lot of heart and a simple best friend lovestory that tugs at your heartstrings. Everything is just perfect about this show. My all time fav.

2. My GF is a Gumiho: Fantasy fiction and oh so good. The heroine is an ancient being, a fox with 9 tails, rumored to eat human livers for food. The characters, the casting, everything is perfect. Shin Min Ah, looks so freaking beautiful all through out the show. And her chemistry with the hero and their lovestory is so beautiful.

Will add more later..super tired now. 😆

when i started watching ,Boys over flower and Playful kiss and Secret garden were most talked about shows .Alas I could not bear to watch more then two to three episodes of all three LOL.

It was Hotel king of Lee Dong-wook that actually was like real taste of kdrama for me. I just loved everything about the show .

my GF is a Gumiho is a good drama as well i loved it and became more fan of Shin Min-ha . I like her acting ,its spontanious and natural like Kajol .

I did like lLucky romance beautiful Gong Shim ,both r a good rom com but they became drag by end as no story was left till then.

I could not gather myself to watch Bridal mask as i found too much politics into it, so could not cope up with it .

Yes I did watch Innocent Man an cried in end and was really very angry at myself for watching it. Well i hate sad endings and tha's why i always make sure to know that drama has a happy ending else i don't watch it . But this drama took me by surprise , i just loved it so much that i kept on watching it without checking the end . i pulled a one nighter for this drama and ended up with dark circles and feelng sick in the morning. It's after this drama , I have made rule. Always check the end before u watch !!!!
