Hey Friends 🤗🤗

One of the joys of being a parent is getting to read bedtime tales to one's kiddo. And my little cherub insists on 3 bedtime tales every night. (3 is her favorite number, you see). 😊

So I finished her trio of tales some time back, we were doing a book called "Pinkalicious": about a whimsical, creative little girl who is quite obsessed with pink. And I did a massive double take, when I read the author's foreword on the first page.

It was dedicated to the author's 2 nieces, and signed off as "VK". 😆😆😉 Now me being the VK fan that I am, you would understand my state of incredulous excitement. But sigh...as one would have guessed, this VK was a Victoria Kann. Not our VK. 😆😉😛

As an aside, if VK/Sanskaar was to feature in a book, which character and novel would you choose? I guess the favorite answers would be Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, or Captain Wentworth in Persuasion? (Both by the inimitable genius, Jane Austen).

Any other suggestions? I would love to see him as Edmond Dantes/ The Count of Monte Cristo...a very layered, complex persona. One who comes back plotting vengeance and retribution...and re discovers his humane side...(Though of course, I may want the melancholy ending to be adapted, if Sunny were to feature as the Count 😉)

What about Pip from Great Expectations? Definitely not as sharp and brilliant as Sunny boy...but the depth of his unconditional, selfless love for Estella is somewhat like Sanskaar's potent depth of emotion.

Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights, while being an awesomely conceived character in my most favorite novel, and one of my favorite anti heroes from fiction, is too steeped in darkness for Sanskaar to be slotted in his role. IMO at least.

While Heathcliff loves Cathy with a burning, almost frightening intensity, their love always feels cursed, almost like a malediction. There is hardly any light, any goodness in that emotion, it is so full of a compulsive, obsessive, crazed pain.

Do share your views. Which fictional character does Sunny boy remind you of? 😊

And guys please...this is just a fun post, for a light hearted discussion and exchange of views. No character comparisons related to the show please...

Lots of Love

Viji

Well it's a very difficult question to answer Viji, atleast for me!
There are many characters with whom Sanskaar can relate & there are many shades of Sanskaar which is related with some characters!
And Sanskaar remind me off some of my fav characters as well.
Bt Sanskaar most remind me 2 of my all time fav characters - Mr. Darcy (I LOVE Pride and Prejudice & Mr. Darcy, Elizabeth is no less) & The Count Of Monte Cristo (Indeed he is a very layered character with so many emotions)
There are some other characters as well Bt I will go for these two!

Dear Viji,

Edmond Dante - no two ways about it - I am so enamoured by him that I can take the ending too which has one of my most favourite quotes:

"Until the day when God will deign to reveal the future to man, all human wisdom is contained in these two words--"Wait and Hope.

Will update as and when I recall😉

loads of love,

Hey Nupur sweetheart 🤗🤗

So happy to have your views here. Yeah, for me too, Sunny would be a combination of Mr Darcy, Captain Wentworth and The Count of Monte Cristo. All very intriguing and layered characters, with so much depth to their natures.

And Swara is somewhat like Elizabeth from P&P, as well as Anne from Persuasion. Maybe a bit like Cathy Linton (the junior Catherine), in Wuthering Heights.

Lots of Love

Hey Tanishka 🤗 🤗

Haven't read Narnia...saw one of the movies though. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. 😊

Harry Potter is an absolute favorite of course. Lord of the Rings/ Hobbit, as well.

Edmond Dantes/ The Count of Monte Cristo is all things fabulous no? 😳😉

And that quote is superb...wait and hope...yes, indeed. So redolent of Sanskaar's resilience.

I relate him so much to Edward Cullen from twlight esp when it comes to his love for swara ..I am twihard and totally into team edward 😳..and he reminds me of sunny ..like the the line ..

so the lion fell in love with lamb..the one who sought to destroy and turning into saviour .. .

"I love you more than anything in the world combined.",

"You are my life now "

"No measure of time with you will be long enough lets start with forever "..

I can go on and on ..when it comes to sanky's love for swara ..I totally connect him to edward ..will come back with more😊

Dear Viji,

Another one from me:

Talbot from the thriller "Fear is the Key" by Alistair Maclean - a very sad ending - the story is all about how the protogonist is out to seek revenge - John Talbot, owner of Trans Carib Air Charter Co is at an airfield in British Honduras, awaiting radio contact with one of his aircraft en route to Tampa, Florida. Not long after establishing contact the aircraft is attacked by a P-51 Mustang, after which all contact is lost. He was supposed to be on that flight but unable to do so as he was running a fever, his wife insists he stay back and takes his place alongside his twin brother and at the last minute their son insists on accompanying his mother. The wreck is subsequently recovered with their bodies.

The title is on account of the fear Talbot puts in the hearts of the villian to make him confess to his crimes.

It is a gut wrenching story and each time I read, I cry. Talbot has his revenge but not a happy ending. The most poignant moment is when the radio contact is broken, Talbot removes the headphones to hear a song on the radio "My red rose has turned to white"

VK would simply be superb as John Talbot - revenge and retribution albeit with a very sad ending.

love,
Nyna

For me it's my favourite character Howard Roark of fountainhead by Ayn Rand.. Though personality wise they might seem different ,the similarity lies in their character..hardworking and principled . But above everything the way they love...
