Sometime in November I participated in a writing contest in IF. There were some available topics, one was 'meeting your fav stars/actors' and hehe of course I chose that. I've confirmed that I won though I haven't got the title under my avatar (it's coming soon, yay). I'm happy that I was one of the winners, especially because my entry was a bit longer than the suggested length. Even my average post here is longer than the suggested length😕(exaggerating). Thank you for Ramas who held the contest and whoever chose my entry as one of the winners, hehe.
I hope you don't mind this thread😕 Where else can I share this happiness but here?😊
Here's my entry. This time it's a shout out to one of our Kayamath' darlings, my dearest Shabbir.
It was a day just like any other day. Being a middle rank manager of a very sophisticated five stars hotel in Mumbai I had no option but to walk in pure haste though always in made-believe grace. Then it happened. The elevator with only me and a dark, tall man stopped abruptly for unknown reasons. Usually there would be an elevator girl but she might be having her lunch break. I cursed silently. First of all I shouldn't have taken this elevator since it's for guests, and second of all I'd be so late for final check of a conference room soon to be used by our special client. After sometime I turned to look at the man behind me, wanted to ask how he was doing. After all I was responsible for our guest's convenience. He looked at me and my heart stopped. I couldn't believe Shabbir Ahluwalia was standing so near to me, in this rather small metal box with no one else around. I must have been agape and looked silly with open mouth just like a fish brought off water because he smiled apologetically. My mind went frantic as my mouth went dry. Marry me Shabbir, I'm your destiny. I love you. These words were already on the tips of my lips. But sanity won. "I'm sorry for this inconvenience, Mr. Ahluwalia. I'm sure the problem will be settled soon." He said okay and gave a polite smile. A few seconds later the elevator really did move again. He got off on Conference Floor C, while I needed to go to Conference Floor E. I kept the door opened for him and saw him nodded his goodbye and walked out of the elevator. I couldn't help but calling out to him. "Sir, I am a big fan of yours. I think you're superb. Good luck with everything." He stopped and walked back to me. Took my free hand and clasped it with both his hands. "Thank you", he said with a huge smile. Even after the elevator door was closed and I was alone, his smile still got me fuzzy. The elevator reached the very top floor of the building before I managed to collect myself and returned to my destination floor.
