My favorite line of the episode today...delivered so simply yet felt so poignant.

Meera is a creature of whimsy, that much is obvious...her thoughts, her views on life, what she wants to do...all float on a somewhat simplified whimsical cloud. And her family doesn't seem to have the first clue how to deal with her.

This was most obvious in this scene where she presents to her father the simple yet powerful logic that if she can't make herself happy, how will make anyone else happy? Too often we are all so caught up in doing so many of the things that are expected of us that we forget to pause, to take a breath and actually ponder on whether we have discovered happiness for ourselves. I liked how she pointed out to her father that he did so much for his family also because making his family happy makes him happy.

So Meera may be the epitome of indecisiveness and lack of focus in life...yet how quickly she forms a conclusion about wanting to get married simply to see a smile on her father's face.

She is surprisingly simple in her approach towards life...so oversimplified that it doesn't exactly lend itself to practicality...but at the same time she seems to be filled with immense compassion and love for the people she loves...case in point, her family here. She also seems determined when she sets her mind towards something.

All in all an interesting work in progress that is surely going to have quite the journey in the Pant house.

My other fav. scene in the epi has to be Abhi's scene with Rohan and his other cousin sister...forgetting her name now...the way the two of them are fussing over his clothes and worried about "unlucky" things...as usual Abhi puts a positive spin on the whole thing and solves the problem cheerfully...I liked how the two of them jump onto him with a hug...naturally sweet moment done nicely.

Meera and Abhi could definitely benefit from each other's perspectives on life...she can teach him to find happiness for himself as well and he can teach her discipline and focus😆

Meera's character is beautifully written
I like the appraoch towards life
How many time we came across a TV heroine who says "I want to be happy"? we always came across heroines who says "mai family ko khush dekhna chahti hoon chahe uske liye mujhe marna hi kyu na pade 😆(thoda filmy hogaya :P)
I loving the treatment-realistic and natural

Hello hello. :)
Meera might be whimsical but she doesn't come across as insensitive to her family's worry or inept at doing things if she wants to...you have a good point about Meera floating on this cloud of her own where the people below don't understand what's going on with her, and she barely skims the nitty-gritties of daily life instead of engaging with them. I liked how she set up the entire scene in her head before going to talk to her family and then pre-empted every argument of theirs, haha. She seems to be an amusing version of happy-go-lucky right now; hopefully we'll get to see more as the show progresses.

I liked the scene with Abhi too, especially that bit where he takes this sad little pause in the middle of saying how clothes are never unlucky...the guy might shrug it all off and smile but all the rejections have left a mark somewhere.

It should be interesting to watch the reversal of the stereotypical gender dynamics of your usual desi tv couple. In some ways it reminds me of SGP, except I am glad there seem to be no spoilt brats in the house yet.

Exactly😆...literally every single female lead on TV is a carbon copy of that sentiment...or the other extreme is to make her a spoiled brat throwing stuff around...for once, we have a character like Meera who is neither...she is straightforward about wanting to find her happiness but she doesn't lack compassion...sacrifice and regard have different shapes...Meera chose to get married simply to take away the worry from her father's face but they didn't show it in a melodramatic fashion...that is what I liked.

Hello hello back, Bidya ji :) So nice of you to drop in...pleasant surprise😆

Re: SGP parallels...I suppose everyone is jumping to that cuz the FL is not a fix it all superwoman and SGP was the rare show with a FL like that...but I like the fact that they haven't taken that extreme approach with Meera in that she isn't a total out of control bipolar trainwreck that Suhana was in many ways...too often, characters are stuffed with crazy traits that are overlooked because of a layer of innocence running through them. But Meera is a bit different from all that...she isn't some wild mutinuous brat...but she just doesn't simply fit into the box of reasonability that her family and society expects her to be in.

She isn't rebellious in a loud, stubborn way...she's just so matter of fact about how she is different and what she can/cannot do...and for once, we don't have a family oppressing her in a typical way either...they are genuinely trying to figure out how to help her in whatever way they can.

haha I liked the scene when she pre-empted her family's arguments too...lol I like that she is cheerful but not in a suffocatingly OTT way forcing it down people's throats...and just when you least expect it, she has the capacity to say something insightful...or maybe that's simply because simple happiness is not high on most ppl's priority lists like it is hers...and luckily for her, she isn't living in tough circumstances either. There is interesting scope for her character to evolve.

I liked your point about Abhi's scene too...yes the rejections probably sting somewhere but Abhi being Abhi knows how to put a positive spin on anything...I suppose that is what Abhi and Meera share in common...a stubborn optimism for life and the ability to shrug off setbacks...they just have different ways of dealing with things😆

Look at the whole bonding thing here...I feel left out.

Meera is very interesting..whimsical , yet there is some sort of maturity in what she says. We all want to live like her but we cannot because like her father or sister we are burdened by the realities of life. She is different yet you cannot dismiss what she says easily..like her family members mused , it's difficult to understand what she says because it's so simple. I am excited what her graph would be.

I loved when Abhi gazes at his mom, and I love , inspite of her shortcomings , she tries to have that word and voice about her son heard. The poignancy and that pain of mother-son is so visible , yet this boy learnt to be mature and responsible and find happiness in making others happy. The contrast here.

The reversal of template is nice. It would be fun how these two collide and most importantly how they grow wrt to each other and individually.

Oh a shout-out to Meera's mom, refreshing to atleast have a woman who build a career after marriage and that narration mentioned in a matter of fact manner.

LOL what bonding😛

Re: Abhi...the thing that fascinates me is how naturally the love for his family shows on his face...like you mentioned, you can see it in the way he looks at his mother...so much gets communicated simply in that glance and they smile at each other in perfect understanding...and yes, there is an endearing quality to the way his mom tries to assert herself...the woeful quality in her face when she says, "Main zyada tar upar rehti hoon toh sab mujhe bhool jaate hain"...

Good point about Meera's mom...I liked how firstly she looked and talked like a realistic urban mother...hallelujah for a refreshing treatment of mothers on TV...no 10 foot ghoonghat and jewellery ladi hui...and then like you said, she so matter of factly talked about marriage as a ways of bringing focus and responsibility to Meera's life and not being the end all and be all of her life to go serve a family...

So many important points are made in a matter of fact manner...I like that too.

Hi Nurey... 😊
I liked that Line in the Promo itself , such a simple need of every individual ... yet most of us focus on other aspects which kinda help us achieve it .

The lady playing Meera's mother looks like her real Mom... they both look so similar . 😆
I liked how she manoes her family at the dinner table . Simple dialogue yet so relatable.

Liking Abhishek too...Priyanshu has this simplicity in him which is adding to abhishek's persona. Such an endearing character.
I liked how he sorted out family sitting arragement ..haha...

Liking this show so far ...!!! It's like a page out of daily life , so much like NBT...

Superb Post..!!!

Thanks, Asmita :) Nice to see you here too.

Yes, the lady playing Meera's mom is quite aptly cast...they look related.

Re: Abhishek...I haven't seen this actor's work before but he seems to be doing a good job playing Abhishek.
