Hey, all! I know I haven't updated this FF for quite sometime now, but finally it comes. And this chapter is dedicated to my friend R_ShaktiLover since she wanted me to write something like this. And I hope I have justified what you thought it should be like.

Chapter 8: Kiss of Love

"Ishani!" he pulled her closer to him and she smiled demurely, trying to hide herself away from his teasing gaze. But he pulled her chin up and made her look into his eyes. He smirked. "What's wrong, baby?"

She stammered a few words but faltered as he gazed at her lips. She wanted to get away from him... but instead, she found herself melting as his lips came nearer to hers. And before anything could happen...

"Baa!" she shrieked, horrified, and he stormed out of the room quickly, looking completely demented and frightened.

"Baa?" he looked about him and scowled at finding no one.

Ishani's giggles met his ears as he turned back to her who laughed uncontrollably at his panicked look and shook her head. But Ranveer did not look amused.

"Fine!" he cried, rushing into his room, and slammed the door behind.

Ishani followed him. "Ranveer," she said in a sing-song voice, still unable to control her laughter but no answer came. "Are you opening the door or I use my hairpin to do that?"

"The doors of RV's house are not that weak, Mrs. Vaghela!" he answered and Ishani laughed again, too loudly this time.

He suddenly opened the door, still looking disgruntled. "What are you laughing for?" he queried.

"You look so cute when you are mad at me but you know you are only pretending to be so," she said, pulling his cheeks but he only moved back to shut the door behind.

"Don't disturb me. I want to sleep. I have worked the whole day today to prepare for my wife's birthday who is not at all interested in that."

"Ah, I know." Ishani too followed him. "But don't you need your gift?"

He snorted. "Not when I'm tired. And it's your birthday, not mine!"

But neither of them knew amidst their arguments Ishani had entered Ranveer's room and now crossed her arms, looking at him, amused.

"Well?" he asked. "I want to work!" He picked up his laptop and sat on the bed, facing his back to her.

"That's cute!" She came to him and encircled her arms around his neck.

He looked back. "What?"

Ishani eyed sideways. "That gift you brought for me. Let me check."

"You are not going to take that!" He, with some difficulty, retrieved the packet before she could get her hand on it and placed it under the bed. Ishani glared at him.

"That's not fair!" she cried.

"Anything's fair in love and war!" he chimed victoriously.

"Ranveer, I can kiss you anytime... but this gift. It was my gift!"

"Alright! Then I can give you your birthday gift anytime, too. Thank you! You have already ruined my day and mood. Who the hell makes their husbands wait for a damn kiss for two whole weeks? That's crazy! You're inhuman!"

And suddenly Ishani stopped smiling and came close to him. "Are you sure you don't want to give me your gift?" she whispered in his ears and her tone made Ranveer look up in surprise as he stood up. Surely some mischief in her mind was going on! "Well, what about this?" She planted a kiss on his cheek and he glared at her.

But before he could say anything more, Ishani came much more close to him, their lips barely apart and her eyes glaring with a twinkle he had never seen before.

"What about this?" she asked and now he took hold of the matter and smiled.

"This is perfect," he whispered and she shivered, but by now his arms were tightly wrapped around her waist. No chance of escape. Ishani resisted him slightly, blushing. "Oops!" He certainly enjoyed her torture.

She struggled against his chest but he only pulled her towards him, making it harder to escape.

"Well, you brought yourself here," he answered, now tracing his thumb across her lips slowly. She closed her eyes and gulped.

"Ranveer!" she complained breathlessly. "That's not fair!"

"It is!" his voice was a hoarse whisper.

And without giving her a chance to say anything more, he leaned and softly brushed his lips with hers before capturing them in a slow, deliberate kiss. He rested his hands on either sides of her cheeks, and tasted her lips softly. Ishani reciprocated back as her free hand reached out to the back of his head, pulling him towards her more, and another clutched onto his shoulder tightly while her lips moved in the perfect concord with his, and her eyes closed. The kiss continued on as its heat spread over her skin and she felt her heart swell with a joy she had never known before. Ranveer moved his one hand to her waist and pulled her close, keeping up with the kiss until their breaths hitched and they could not breathe. Slowly Ishani separated away and turned her back towards him.

He smiled at her as Ishani refused to meet her eyes with him and he came close to her.

"So?" he asked and Ishani looked at him, her cheeks red.

"So?"

"It's your birthday!" he whispered and hugged her again. "Happy birthday, Mrs. Vaghela!"

Ishani hugged him back. "Thank you! This is the best gift you could have given me! What about the another, though?"

His face paled and he gulped. He needed to run away before she got her hands on that damned wrong packet.

PS. I've written their kisses so much that it's so much fun now. xD In 3 updates [2 of Soulmates and 1 of this one] I have written 3 kisses. Ah, this hatrick. :D

PPS. I'll probably reply to Soulmates tomorrow, now.
