Location: HANDA INDUSTRIES HEAD OFFICE, MUMBAI
Savitri Devi along with Sumitra and Maan reached Handa Industries and found Ram Bharose pacing in the lobby. Seeing Savitri Devi he rushed to her in tears,"Maaji, accha hua aap aagayeen. Subah se Geet bitiya ki tabiyat theek nahibe. Humne toh bahut kahaa ki ghar jaake aaram kar lein magar humari ek naa sono! Hum thodi der baad chai lekar gaye toh hummei kamre mei behosh mileen. Aaj daftar mei toh chutti hai, patta nahi bitiya kyun aayeen?" (Ma'am, thank you for coming. Since morning, Geet is not feeling well. I told her to go home and rest bit she did not. I went afterwards with her tea and found her lying unconscious on the floor. Today office was closed, Idon't know why she bothered coming?)
"Abb kaisi hai, Geet?" (How is Geet?)
"Humao naa jaane. Doctor sahiba dekhat hai!" (I don't know! Lady Doctor is examining her!)
"Sumitra aur Maan chalo."(Sumitra and Maan, lets go!) Savitri Devi ordered. Reaching the room, Savitri Devi said, "Maan thodi der aap bahar rahiye!" (Maan please wait outside for sometime.)
"Kyun Dadimaa?" (Why Dadimaa?)
"Aapke har sawal ka jawab nahi hai humare paas !" (I don't answer for your every question!)
Just then Lady Doctor came out and said,"Are you Ms. Geet Handa's family?"
"YES!" Maan said.
"Please come in. Ms. Handa is three weeks pregnant. But she is extremely weak, so she has to eat nutritious diet for proper development of fetus."
"Actually doctor she has recently been r***d, so if we don't want the baby?" Dadimaa said. Maan gasped in shock hearing Savitri Devi's implication.
"In that case within next two weeks we can abort the fetus. Let me know what Ms. Handa decides! Accordingly I can refer her to a Gynaecologist!"
Maan went to drop doctor outside and paid her fees. By this time Geet also regained her consciousness.
"Dadimaa, Badi Maa aap yahaan! Kuch hua hai kya?" (Dadimaa, Badi Maa how come you are here? Anything wrong?)
"Ladoo, kab se tumhari tabiyat kharab thee aur tumne hummei bataaya bhi nahi? Kya hum abb itne gair ho gaye?" (Geet, since how long you were unwell and didn't even contact us. Have we become strangers to you?)
"Nahi Badi Maa! Bass thakaan aur kamzori poore din mehsoos hoti hai jisse bass sone ka mann karta patta nahi kyun? Aur aaj subah se jee bhi michla raha thaa (Nausea)!Socha ki office aaongi to kaam mei thoda busy aur active rahongi to neend bhaag jaayegi! " (No Badi Maa! I'm just feeling tired and weak whole day for few days, I don't know why? Since morning, I'm even having nausea. So I thought if I'll come to office and get engrossed in work, I'll feel better!)
"Aap Maa bannewali hain, beta." (Geet, you are soon going to become a mother.)
"KYA? MAI MAA?" (WHAT? A MOTHER?) First there was immense happiness on Geet's face as she caressed her tummy but soon her happiness turned into sadness!
"Suniye beta, hum jaante hai ki aapka teen hafte pehle r***e hua hai. Iss liye aap yeh baccha gira dijiye! Aapki poori zindagi ka sawal hai." (Geet dear, I know that three weeks back you have been r****d. So I suggest you abort the baby as its a question of your whole life!)
Maan had just returned when he heard Savitri Devi's advice to Geet and immediately roared "Dadimaa, khabardaar iss bacche ko kuch hua toh! GEET KI KOK MEI JO BACCHA PAL RAHA HAI WOH MERA HAI, MAAN SINGH KHURANA KA!" (Dadimaa, dare you harm this baby. The child which is in Geet's womb is MAAN SINGH KHURANA's!)
"Iska matlab hai Maan tumne hi Geet ka..."(This means it was you who has...) There was a echo of tight slap in the room. "Aaj tu ne mujhe jeeteji maar diya hai Maan. Kaash tum paida..." (Today I have died a thousand deaths! I wish I would have...)
A hand closed Sumitra's mouth before she could utter unthinkable words. "Geet beta mujhe maaf kar do abb tumhare shabdon ka sahi matlab mai abb samjhee hoon, "agar jo inhone abhi tak humare saath kiya hai agar aapki sagi beti ke saath uske pati ne kiya hota toh kya aap unhei maaf kar deti?" Mai ek Maa ke roop mai haar (fail) gayi!" (Geet now I have truly understood the meaning of your words'if your own biological daughter had to go through whatever I have gone through till now will you still send her back to her husband's home?' I have failed as a mother.)
"Nahi Badi Maa iss mei aapka koi dosh nahi. Partywali raat inhone jo kuch bhi mere saath kiya hai woh uss nashe wali dawaa (drug), sharaab(alcohol) aur apne gusse ke aadheen hokar kiya hai. Aap please humse maafi matt maangiye!" (No Babi Maa! I don't have any grudges against you as Maan was under the intoxication of drug, alcohol and anger. You please don't ask for forgiveness.)
Trying calm Sumitra and Geet, Savitri Devi said, "Sumitra ho sakta hai ki bhagwaan ki marzi yehi ho ki hum Par Dadi (great grandmother) aur aap Dadi (grandmother) iss roop mei banne!" (Maybe it was God's wish that we become great grandmother and grandmother in this way!)
Making truth finally register to Sumitra. "Geet beta, iss haalat mai tumko akela nahi chodh sakti hoon. Tum humare saath turant Delhi chalo." (Geet, we can't leave you alone in this condition. Come with us to Delhi.) Sumitra adviced.
"Dadimaa aur Badi Maa,humne aapse pehle bhi kahaa hai ki agar hum aaye toh humare saath anekon sawal aayenge aur Khurana Khandaan ki zindaagi mei bhoochaal aa jayega. Duniya aur Police ki nazar mei Geet mrit hain. Anjali ki bhi maut ho chuki hai. Gina avivaahit hai aur abb KC mei kaam nahi karti hai. Anekon prashan parantu jawab koi nahi. Agar hum Geet roop mei aaye to Rahul, Dev, Naintara aur sabse bada humara dushman, humare chachera bhai, Brijeshwar Handa yaani Brij hummei aur humare bacche ko zindah nahi chodhege! Humne aaj Rudra bhai-sa se baat ki hai aur woh kal hummei apne saath ek surakshit sthaan par le jaayenge!" (Dadimaa and Badi Maa, as I said before, if I come, with me lots of questions will also arise which will disturb the peaceful life of Khurana family. For the society and police, Geet is dead and so is Anjali. Gina is unmarried but no longer works in KC. If come out as Geet, Rahul, Dev, Naintara and most important my cousin, Brijeshwar Handa or Brij will not leave me or my child alive. Hence, I have called my brother Rudra and he will take me to a secure place.)
Maan was sitting in far corner of the room as if he was a convict being ignored by the three women. Knife was piercing Maan's heart seeing Geet refusing to look at him. He was so happy hearing that he is going to be father but seeing Geet being cool and aloof from him was breaking his heart. Finally, unable to bear this ignorance from the three women he said, "Geet tum meri patni ho aur yeh baccha mera. Mai jaanta hoon ki hum yeh sabke saamne nahi keh sakte. Khurana Constructions ka ek naya project Manali mai hai aur tum mere saath wahaan chalogi, meri patni bann kar. Inkaar matt karna warna mai majboor ho jaaonga Court ka darwaaz khatkhatana(knock) ke liye, apne bacche ki custody lene ke liye! MAAN SINGH KHURANA JO KEHTA HAI WOH KARTA HAI! Samjheen!" (Geet you are my wife and the child in your womb is mine. I know we can't declare our relationship in front of the world. So there is a new project of Khurana Constructions being launched in Manali were you will accompany me as my wife. If you refuse, I will be forced to go to Court for the custody of my child. 'What MAAN SINGH KHURANA wants he gets it!' Understood!)
Making Geet shiver with fear remembering his similar words when by mistake her doll was found in his school bag around 17yrs. ago! The 6yr. old Geet had been terrified by 14yr. old Maan. But when fear of him was replaced by love for him, she doesn't know maybe when her knee was scraped and Maan put bandage on it and had fired Vicky and Yash for being careless while playing regards safety of a 10yrs. old child.
