Paithyam Returns
Ab tak bahut hero ban gayi tum. Ab iss hero ko kuch kaam karne do! Adarsh said with a wink as he held Swadheenta in his hand, preventing her fall.
As soon as she had seen those boys approaching her, Swadheenta was tensed because she had not expected to receive any help. Her immediate reaction when the boy held her hand was to escape and run. When she felt herself tripping and falling, all she could do was blame her ill luck. In that split second, she had assumed numerous negatives and was preparing herself for such terrible outcomes that it took her a few seconds to realize that she was safe, and that she was saved by none other than her paithyam. Relief! She felt extreme relief the minute she saw him. When he spoke those words, she knew she was safe and couldn't help the smile that was forming on her face. All she had wanted was his protective embrace. All she craved for was his possessiveness. And now, even if the circumstances were still unusual and unappealing, she was getting what she wanted. Her concerns of the past few minutes were long forgotten. She could continue to stay in his arms like this forever. She saw deep into his eyes to see that her feelings were reciprocated. Adarsh gave her his most endearing smile and helped her stand on her feet. Then, diverting his attention towards the 2 boys who stood gaping at them, he said
Bahut pretty ladki hai na? Bahut khoobsurat?
The boy who had held Swadheenta had looked at Swadheenta, and then at Adarsh. Uncertainly he nodded his head in the affirmative
*Punch* Biwi hai woh meri. The boy was now on the ground with a split lip. He spat out some blood. Looking at him, and the other boy who was on the verge of running, Adarsh continued Simply compliment deke chale jaate. Haat pakad ne ki kya zarooth thi?
The second boy was now backtracking his steps slowly. Ruko Adarsh's voice stopped him in his tracks. Staring at him, and making sure he wasn't moving, Adarsh looked at the boy on the ground. Tum, meri biwi se maafi mango. Aur tum, he looked at the 2nd boy, apne dost ko aise chod ke nahi chale jaate. Jab woh maafi maang lega, usko apne saath le jaana.
Both boy nodded their heads obediently. Swadheenta looked at the whole scene with great amusement. She felt an inexplicable happiness to see her Adarsh back after so long. She understood immediately that he had been giving her a tough time on purpose while he must have been watching her back. Acha paithyam. Tum mere saath games khel rahe the when you knew I craved for you? She thought and smiled to herself. Diverting her attention to the boy who was trying to get on his feet, she forced herself to look angry and upset. You won't get away this easily Mr. Adarsh Sinha. Mujhe itna sataya hai. Thoda toh manane ka kaam karna padega tumhe she vowed.
The boy got up, took a step away from Swadheenta and Adarsh, but managed to look at Swadheenta and croak out a "Sorry didi". His friend immediately walked up to him and helped him walk away.
Proud at having handled the situation well, Adarsh turned around to look at Swadheenta only to see her upset and angry. Confused he said Swadheenta?
Kaun hai aap? Aur unn ladkon ko aapne maara kyon?
The crowd that had gathered around them during the episode had just begun to disperse when they turned around again to watch the new issue unfolding
Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho? Swadheenta log dhek rahe hai.
Toh? Aapne meri madad kyon ki? Aapko yeh hak kisne diya? Aap apne aap ko samajte kya hai?
Adarsh was surprised, and more concerned with the people watching him now, some angrily.
An elderly passerby asked Swadheenta with concern Beti, yeh toh keh rahe the ki yeh aapke pati hai. Aap inhe nahi jaanti?
Innocently Swadheenta nodded her head in the negative Nahi uncle ji.
Adarsh was shocked to say the least. Kya? Pagal ho gayi ho kya? Mazaak nahi chal raha. He walked towards her and whispered This is a serious matter even as he looked around at the group of people looking at him skeptically
Swadheenta took a step back Mere pati ko coffee pasand hai. Hamesha mujhe coffee offers dete rehte the. Aapko coffee pasand hai? Nahi na she said with a lot of hurt
Adarsh looked at her like she had 2 horns on her head. Horns nahi hai toh kya hua. Devil toh phir bhi hai. Marwadegi he thought to himself. Loudly he said Kya? Swadheenta, woh toh mein mazaak kar raha tha. She looked at him and gave him a forced smile as if to indicate that he was now going to pay for his "mazaak"
She looked back at the elderly man as she continued Mere pati ko mere saath rehna acha lagta tha, mere liye cheezain karna acha lagta tha, mere khayaal rakhna acha lagta tha. Inhe toh inme se koi bhi cheez achi nahi lagti. Yeh mere pati nahi hai uncle ji.
The elderly man understood that this young couple had had a fight. He smiled at her, then at Adarsh, and walked away blessing them. He urged the people who had gathered around them to carry on too.
Yeh tum kya kar rahi thi? Adarsh asked when the crowd dispersed, now understanding that these two were indeed husband and wife.
Tum yaha kyon aaye? Swadheenta said trying to sound angry, and pointing around her, she dramatically said Aur itna bada scene karne ki kya zarooth thi?
Kya? Itni raat ko tum ghar se aa gayi aise, mein peeche peeche aaya tumhari help karne, aur tum mujhe hi suna raho ho? Aur scene maine create kiya?
Mujhe koi help ki zarooth nahi thi. Mein manage kar leti sab kuch she turned to face away from him as she continued to pretend to be angry with him
Adarsh walked up to her and held her hand. When she looked at him he said Woh toh pata hai. Lekin ab se mein nahi chahta ki tum kuch bhi akele handle karo. I will be there with you always. I am sorry
Adarsh could see admiration, want, relief, joy in Swadheenta's eyes. But she refused to accept it for through her words she continued to pretend to be angry. Ho gaya? Mein chali! she said and started walking away from him.
Adarsh figured that she was playing him, just like he had, and decided to indulge her. He ran behind her and held her hand Arre yaar, thodi der pehle maine tumhari itni help ki hai. Return mein ek coffee toh banti hai?
Sapna acha hai She said as she continued to walk
Jabse tumse mila hu, sapne hi toh dhek raha hu
Swadheenta thought back to the time when they had had the same conversation. Same words, same actions. She felt joy flood through her. She turned back to look at him and walked towards him. Putting her hands around his neck, she continued Tumhari problem kya hai?
Smiling, he replied Problem ka toh pata nahi, par solution tum ho
Tumhari kisi hotel ke saath koi deal hai kya? Ek ke saath ek coffee free type? Mujhe nahi chahiye koi coffee She was smiling even as she said it and turned to walk away
Ek coffee hi toh maang raha hu he said standing still
She looked at him again, standing a few meters apart now Pehle coffee, phir lunches, phir dinners, phir movie dates... mujhe inn sab mein koi interest nahi hai. Thanks, but no thanks
Tsk Tsk Tsk. Yeh sab toh purane zamane ki baatein hai. Aaj kal lunches, dinners pe kaun jaata hai. Don't worry. Mein aapko disappointment nahi karoonga. Ek coffee ke baad mein aapko directly apne ghar le jaane waala hu. You know, directly to my bed room! He said with a smile and a wink
Adarsh! She laughed out loud and ran to hug him, hug him to never let go. He hugged her bad with the same intensity, promising himself that he will always keep her this happy. They held on to each other for a few minutes. When they parted, they realized that both of them were shedding happy tears. Laughing again looking at each other, they wiped each other's tears off.
Adarsh said So, should we go and get that coffee? Or are you still hungry? Kuch aur khana hai?
Nahi, let us go get the coffee. Uske baad, mujhe ghar jaana hai she said with a knowing in her eyes. Adarsh understood the real meaning behind her words and nodded. They then held each others hands as they walked towards his car.
