OS: A Devar-Bhabi Romance

Before you guys start to throw slippers and tomatoes at me for such a title and writing about such a sleazy, sordid thing...please give me a chance. I thought if the TPK makers can keep showing such immoral, disgusting stuffs on national tv why can't I write something similar? My sense of humour is very crude and weird.

It is kind of continuation to my other OS "Night of Masquerade" , but I guess people can read it standalone as well. Just know that Bihaan knows about Dhruv's evil intentions and playing dumb.

A Devar-Bhabi Romance

Masquerade Party night, 2:13 a.m

Thapki went to the dining space to fill up her water jug, her mind occupied elsewhere. In her mind, she was going through what Bihaan had said to her earlier.

1. Try avoiding being alone. Have someone with you always, be it anyone.

2. Always keep phone in hand and press 1 to speed dial me anytime and I will arrive.

3. Don't show vulnerability at any cost - because psychopaths feed off victims fear.

4. But at the same time don't be cocky, and don't let Dhruv understand I know about him.

5. Try to lengthen the conversation calmly maintaining a distance until I arrive to rescue

6. Don't act smart

7. Don't try to be a heroine.

8. If for some reason I am late and you start getting uncomfortable, make as much noise as possible to attract people.

9 If Dhruv gives you anything, accept it with grace but don't eat it or use it, collect it as evidence.

10. Don't delete Dhruv's messages, keep collecting them.

11. Lock your bedroom door and double check it before going to sleep.

Bihaan's lecture was never ending. Her mind was still reeling from it trying to process them all. Bihaan was so worried for her, when it should be himself he should be worried about. Buddhu kahika.

Now she was breaking rule number 1 and 2 of his rule book. It was late at night, and she was completely alone wandering about the house in darkness. She even forgot her phone. SHIT! Hopefully everyone was sleeping by now. Only one light was lit downstairs in the hallway dimly illuminating the dining space.

But what else she could have done? She was so thirsty, she felt like dying of it and it seemed silly to call Bihaan down so late at night for this petty reason. He looked so tired, he needed his rest. Tomorrow was a big day for them. It was their haldi ceremony. She hoped Dhruv Sir would not get any upper hand from now on. Bihaan looked he had a plan.

Dhruv looked murderous when he found them in the stairs and sulked whole night watching them from afar on the dance floor. Bihaan didn't leave her side even for a second and Dhruv looked like he was sucking on a lemon.

"Well, Well, Well, Look who we have here" the object of her thought drawled insolently.

Thapki jumped for a second and then sighed heavily thinking of her misfortune. She calmly kept pouring water into her jug not turning towards him.

"One might think you want to meet me alone so you always find excuses like this to be alone with me"

Thapki rolled her eyes and kept pouring water.

"You were missing me, weren't you?"

Thapki finished filling up her jug and turned to leave. Dhruv was on her way blocking her exit.

"What do you want?"

"You know what I want--you ... only you"

"You are shameless and d-disgusting. Get off my way so I can go to my r-room."

Dhruv's face turned pinched at that statement.

"Shameless and disgusting?? Is that what you think of me? Then what was that you were doing with Bihaan in the staircase?"

"What I was doing with my husband is none of your b-business. Not everyone is a peeping tom like you and we thought we h-had privacy."

"You were kis----- you did that only to get back at me, didn't you?? Just admit it..." Dhruv screeched as quietly as possible. "You wanted to hurt me for------why are you laughing?"

"I was just thinking how different my life would have been, had I gotten married to you." Thapki said with a laugh.

Dhruv kept looking at her not apprehending what she was talking about.

"Imagine being married to someone and then ...BAM...falling into l-love with your husband's younger brother. I never loved you, yes I respected you a lot...but within days of m-marrying you I would have figured out the real disgusting you whom I could n-never love or respect... And I am sure, I would have fallen for Bihaan, sooner or later being married to you or not...then probably I would be doing all the things with B-Bihaan you are doing with me nowadays behind your back...stalk him, irritate him, make his l-life miserable...Though Bihaan is too morally principled to dally with his b-bhabi, but if I kept hankering after him I believe I could have succeeded-d. What do you think of the success rate of my Bhabi aur devar love story?"

Dhruv took some time to process what Thapki just said. His expression finally turned from incredulous to anger. He looked red and ready to burst.

"YOU BITCH-" Dhruv moved forward to grab her.

Thapki threw the water from her jug into his face. And lifted the jug up as if she was about to hit him with it.

It stopped him. Dhruv wiped his face of water and shook his head smiling menacingly.

"Looks like my kitten got claws...And I thought my Thapki is a well-mannered, sweet natured girl...tsk tsk...who could have thought you can be such a shrew...this behavior doesn't suit you"

He pointedly look at the jug, "No matter how much you have changed, I know for sure you can never hit me with it..." he said with an evil smile and started to come close to her, dripping in water, "You shouldn't have done it" He continued.

"Who said I am about to hit you?" Thapki said calmly with a smile. She threw the jug into the floor with all her might, which crashed with a horrendous sound amplified in the night's pin drop silence and shattered into thousand pieces. Then she clumsily stepped back knocking two chairs which toppled into the floor making so much noise enough to wake up dead.

Dhruv looked at her unbelievably his mouth hanging open. Within seconds every door of Pandey Nivas burst opened and everyone rushed out disheveled, in alarm. Bauji reached the dining space first.

"Thapki betiya what happened?" Bauji said in concern looking from a wet, dripping Dhruv to a frightened looking Thapki.

"What's going on?" Sanjay asked as he rushed in and bumped into an equally disheveled Ashwin who was running with a cricket bat to beat up the burglar. Priety and Suman peeped from the balcony in their night dress looking worried. Shraddha was standing in the stairs. Ma was probably sleeping because doctor had prescribed her sleeping pills, so that she could sleep deep without any worry of nightmares. Dadima must be sleeping taking her pills too. Bihaan came and took in the whole scene but didn't say a word.

"B-B-Bauji, woh - I came t-t-to fetch some w-w-water, I didn't see Dhruv Sir who came in silently behind me, my mind was on s-something he caught me off guard, I got s-scared and d-dropped the jug. S-s-sorry."

"Haan woh sab to thik hai, but why is Dhruv wet?"

"I accidentally may have t-thrown the water at h-him in fright. I am so sorry Dhruv Sir." Thapki still looked upset and genuinely sorry for Dhruv.

"Dhruv, what is this?? Why were you creeping around at such an hour?? Dara diya na Thapki betiya ko? kuch awaaz nehi de sakta tha??" Bauji reprimanded.

Dhruv remained silent looking daggers at Thapki. Ashwin and Sanjay shook their head and started to make their way back to their room carefully avoiding the broken glass pieces.

"Thapki betiya, go get your water and go back to your room, don't worry about this mess, Manohar will clean it up in the morning."

"Nehi Bauji, shaadi ka ghar hai, anyone can get h-hurt let me at least take out the glass pieces."

"No need Betiya, you need your rest... Dhruv can do that..." Bauji looked at Dhruv sternly. "Dhruv I don't know what got into you last few days...but you have increasingly started to behave like a burglar in your own home. Sudhaar ja...abhi bhi waqt hai...now clean up the mess you caused and go to your room."

Bauji looked at Bihaan, "Bihaan take Thapki to her room , poor girl still looks shaken and then go back to your own...it is quite late. Go ..Go" He turned to leave dismissing all.

Three of them saw Bauji leaving. Bihaan put his hand over Thapki's shoulder and brought her closer to his body.

"Dhruv, I am so sorry...yeh ladki bhi na... bilkul paagal hai...I am sure it was her fault...she is such a darpok...without any reason you got drenched in water and got scolded by Bauji." Bihaan tsked.

"Don't worry about it" Dhruv said between gritted teeth looking where Bihaan's hand was lying draped on Thapki's shoulder.

"I would have helped you to clean up this mess...but bhai please understand after so long I got this chance to be alone with Thapki...bauji gave me leave to be with her." Bihaan almost squealed in glee. He started to tug Thapki with him towards her room "Come on Mrs. Thapki Bihaan Pandey , let me tuck you in your bed like a good girl as ordered."

He looked at Dhruv who was looking about to choke. "Bhai, please be on guard while I be with my Misez. No, no no, you don't have to do anything...just while cleaning this up have a look out and if Bauji or anyone comes and asks tell them I am at my room... making sure no one disturbs us. You can do this much for your brother, can't you?" " Bihaan said with a wink. Bihaan and Thapki turned, about to leave.

"RUKO BIHAAN, you couldn't--I mean...*Cough* tomorrow is your Haldi, you shouldn't be up so late...go to your room. Both of you should rest."

"Dekha Thapki, how much Dhruv cares for me?? Bhai ho to aisa...He wants me to look my best at my important day... how sweet...Don't worry Dhruv, time I spend with my wife always freshens me up, don't worry about me getting tired...Dhruv please be on guard and manage if someone comes. Thanks bhai." He left with Thapki leaving a stunned Dhruv fuming in impotent anger.

As Bihaan lead Thapki to her room and closed the door behind him making sure he locked it properly, Thapki gulped in fright.

"B-Bihaan woh m-main---"

Bihaan was shaking in anger, "Kitni bar... kitni bar I told you to be careful?? Not to be alone, have your phone with you always...But does Madam listens to me?? No... she doesn't have a care..."

"Bihaan please g-gussa mat ho, I was thirsty---"

"THIRSTY?? So you could have called me...I could have gotten you some water...but knowing there is a pervert lurking in the house you went on waltzing in the dark with no regard to your safety..."

"How w-was I to know that--"

Bihaan took her both shoulders in his hands and shook her hard, "Thapki why are you being so difficult? We are antagonizing Dhruv to his limits, he will become more desperate now...you can't be so careless anymore...What if he hurt you...touched you or tried to do something more sinister?"

"I am sorry Bihaan, I was not thinking straight...it will never h-happen, I will be careful from now on I promise."

"Good, now tell me what happened."

Thapki told him everything.

Bihaan heard all with a frown in his forehead, his expression grave. Thapki prepared herself for another round of his scolding. However he remained quiet, deep in thought as if trying to process something...after a while he sighed deeply, puckered up his lips and and thought some more, "You really said that?"he said finally.

"Said what?" Thapki asked nervously.

"That if I was your devar you would have a thing for me?"

Thapki rolled her eyes, "Out of all the things I said, that is all you heard? You are so cheap Bihaan--chi"

Bihaan completely disregarded what Thapki said, "So you think if you were my bhabi, you would have fallen in love with me, run after me all the time, try to attract me towards you...maybe ...even ...try to seduce me??"

"Bihaan please stop...I don't know what made me say that...you know me, I would have neve--"

"Only one way you can redeem yourself now Thapki, I am still very upset with you", Bihaan said seriously.

Thapki kept on looking at Bihaan already knowing which direction Bihaan was going.

"Show me how you would have seduced your devar, Misez Thapki Bihaan Pandey only then I will think about forgiving you" Bihaan finished with an evil grin.
