Rudra hardly takes things seriously, his work, study and many relationships but that's a direct cause of not having faced many, or any infact, difficult situations. When you're that guarded and protected you don't end up understanding the significance of these aspects in your present and future.
Soumya might have had only two scenes but from what we know so far she is chirpy, confident, happy and most importantly open, just like Rudra.
We've all pointed out that that RuMya are different, but the only significant difference we know of is eating habits, other than that they seem like one and the same, and that's what is special. In Indian TV we are so used to opposites attract that we forget that similar people can fall in love too.
Both Rudra and Soumya have some small similarities and please comment below so I can know if you think I'm on the right track or not!
1. They have both transitioned and have moved. While Soumya has physically moved from Chandigarh to Mumbai and by the looks of some spoilers might have some hardship in that, Rudra has emotionally moved from being guarded to having everything open to him all at once. With first Shivaaye then Om he is starting to realize that his heroes have a breaking point too. With his fathers scandal and the inheriting issues his family values seem to be crashing all around him.
2. They have both felt the loss of someone. Soumya lost her brother while Rudra was on the verge of losing his. They have both firsthand experienced the pain of losing a sibling, and that too and older one who might as well be another parent to them, which is why Soumya spoke with such pain when talking about her elder brother.
3. And the MOST important one according to me, both of them resort to a chirpy and happy attitude to mask the confusion and hurt they have inside. I don't know if anyone else caught on but when Soumya started to talk about her brother it seemed like she was in another world but as soon as she came back to reality her mood switched so suddenly. One can only do so so fast if they have a habit. She is probably so used to hiding her pain which is why it was done so easily by her. The way Rudra was telling her about his life and connection to his siblings and especially the part where he claims he isn't stupid most probably means he was atleast suspicious if not fully aware of the happenings in his household regarding his parents, brothers etc. in that case he should have normally acted upset, angry and would have seeked answers. Instead he chose to remain his childish self, the ones his brothers and family love him to be. Like someone on the forum mentioned before, it's as if he is living a long childhood to fulfill it for himself, Om and Shivaaye.
I sincerely hope that these too have a storyline that is given enough space and appreciation. That their love story is slow, steady and simple, because not everyone has drastic issues within their love life. But this is TV and that's too much to hope for, but I hope the realistic side to them is still there.
I know Rudra's and I know Soumya's. In fact I might as well be a Soumya, chubby and chirpy, but maybe just taller than Neha! Gul's characters are the ones we fall in love with the most all the time, whether it's Geet, Khushi, Maan, Arnav, Asad, ZOYA, Najma, Ayaan. This time around it's these two for me.
It's sad that the younger siblings are not always given enough space on TV because from the looks of it they seem like they have the most depth and complicated issues, mostly because the most hurtful pain is the one in which you don't even realize your hurting, like them, yet at the same time they are so simple you feel for them and you understand them.
Four Lions don't usually disappoint, and I have full faith this time too. I hope you don't break this trust, not just for RuMya but for all the couples.
