We live in a day and age where everything is digitally archieved and it is very hard to do anything behind the public eye. It is not just celebrities or business people but even police officers are routinely getting into trouble ever since emergence of cameras. And then there is social media with facebook and twitter and everything becomes news. So I was thinking were the old people (actors and actresses) from yesteryears got lucky that most of their skeletons will always be in closet and they will take their secrets to their grave?
I mean not all of them can be noble just because we didnt hear much about them in todays times. So which actor/actress from yesteryear would be very controversial today had it been in present times?

Good topic Boss.
I can only think of Amitabh Bachchan . He would not have been able to hide all his misdeeds if today's technology existed in 70s.

Yes true. He would be shit faced by now but then again he did had his fair share of controversies, eventhough it has been pushed down by a successful PR campaign but some traces still linger here and there for those who care. Another name that is quite obvious is the Kapoor khandaan expecially Raj Kapoor himself. But then there are many many celebrities who we deeply look upto because they belonged to a time where they were able to escape the public eye with ease.

agreed. if media camera technology would have been from 50s then we would have known more than we already know.

I have mixed feelings. Yes their misdeeds were less well known - though clearly there must have been rumors for us to know about them now. I sometimes feel once people have accepted someone as a star or the equivalent in business, politics, etc they can get away with whatever and the public will bend over backwards trying to justify bad behavior rather than admit they were fooled by a charismatic personality.

their engima is due to this only. there well crafted face persona in front of public but all co stars, journalists more or less knew the truth. who is seeing whom . old actors when writing biographies write these things.

Possible but not easy and if you get away 99 times, chances of getting caught at 100th is always there .
