Beautiful post which echoes pretty much my own feelings after watching the episode. I couldn't help feel bad for Atharv but I did feel worse for Vividha today.

She asked for none of this, neither did she have a choice in being singled out as the prized offspring of her father, nor did she have one when Atharv openly declared he loved her and would marry her. It seems like she's always handed a fait accompli and expected to deal with whatever comes with it.

Atharv is lucky in that sense, everything is clear for him, whether it's his dream or the person he wants to spend his life with, he's never had to deal with any uncertainty/restrictions because the one person who has the authority to lay down those have always supported him come what may. If he wants something, his mom wants it too because her happiness lies in his and that's where he derives his strength, resolve and clarity of thought. Vividha on the other hand has always lived on the terms set by her father albeit happily because in her eyes, Kailash can never be wrong and he has never given her any reason to think otherwise...until now maybe. Atharv came and challenged her beliefs, forced her to see beyond her carefully crafted world and realize her own strengths and wishes and she's still in the process of grasping all of that. Expecting her to ditch everything and come to him at this point in time was definitely selfish on Atharv's part. I can see where he's coming from though, for him the decision would have been clear cut but then he so easily forgets that Vividha has had a wholly different environment growing up, she would be putting so many relationships at stake in accepting his hand, relationships which have so far been the only ones of importance in her life.

What I found saddest today is that Atharv who assured her that he would do everything to keep pain away from her failed to see the turmoil in her eyes before his own bruised feelings and hopes and was so quick to tag her as a buzdil. I think she has it the hardest because she's continuously being asked to prove herself by both Kailash and Atharv. She's torn between them both and somewhere Kailash and Atharv aren't very different in the fact that they expect too much of her, too soon.

I too hope learning about Guddi makes Atharv introspect and realize maybe he needs to stop and listen to Vividha above the clamor of his own feelings. Some space in their relationship is much needed to make it emerge stronger.

I feel like Vividha isn't given enough credit for the strength that she DOES show. Just like you said it was a MASSIVE deal for her to not only repeatedly say Atharv was right, but in the same breath disagree with her father out in the open! She was SO strong today and of course Atharv didn't see that, he just sees that she didn't come to see HIM. Which is super selfish of him. He's been so caught up in trying to prove that she loves him that he hasn't once thought about HER. It's frustrating because we do both know they deserve each other, it's just that they are both on very different pages in this book, and they need to be on the same page before we see any out in the open declaration of love. Vividha needs to be on her own feet for a while and fight for what she believes is right and Atharv needs to leT HER DO THAT of her own accord, before anything can actually happen between the two of them.

But what a beautiful post, I really hope to see more of your posts in this forum!

This! She did show tremendous strength today -- she questioned and disagreed with her father without hesitation and retaliated against Badri every time he started with his chintu innocent beta jaap. Vividha does have strength but she needs to be allowed to let her wings fly before she can go all out. All Atharv is focused on is his feelings for her which has blinded him to her reality and her desires and her decision.
