SHARING THE SAME UMBRELLA
"Hello..Cabir?tum log sab pahaunch gaye?its raining hard over here man ..and meri gaadi bhi kharap ho gayi..i am all alone in the middle of the road..nahi yaar I even called the driver to get another car but he said that all the roads are blocked..no no you guys be there verna buddy ho shaq hojaega that we are planning a surprise for him..i will manage somehow and reach within an hour..i won't allow this bullshit weather and my murdered car to ruin our surprise..In worst case I will walk along the road to get till there..yeah yeah bye"he cut the call and hunted for an umbrella in his car but didn't find it "Gosh its gonna be a long day ahead"he sighed and rested his head on his seat's headrest
He pulled the window down and few rain drops kissed his ever inviting face..He closed his eyes feeling the rain drops arousing the musician within him..

He hmmed his self written song which was yet to be completed. Continuing his song he looked out of the window to find a girl walking with an umbrella..
"Hey hey stop..hello..wait there..hey Miss..hey umbrella girl wait there.."he rushed out of his car following the girl with the umbrella
"Hey mein tumhe tabse awaz de raha hoon,why aren't you listening?"he asked rolling down his faintly wet sleeves after getting under the umbrella with the girl.. "Aap kon ho?"questioned the girl.I swear it wasn't her question that made him look at her,it was her mellifluous voice.And the moment he saw her he felt the entire universe running a marathon in his belly..That was unusual..
"She is a small girl" he said to himself..he noticed her wearing a knee length floral frock with her hairs open whose ends were wet.He saw her cheeks all puffed up and chubby,a small nose that lead to her rosy pouty lips and a pair of questioning eyes that was awaiting his answer..he found her looking at him intensely..
"She must have recognized me"he thought..After all who doesn't..He was THE MANIK MALHOTRA..the biggest singing sensation ever..It was not only his singing but also his looks girls drooled on..It is just a click of his finger away and girls are ready to sway themselves under his feet..he always had his photo as the cover pic of magazines for being the best businessman..oops!for being the youngest business tycoon of the country..You must have heard about the Malhotra Heights..Yeah he owns it..Girls did a lot to seek his attention but he was never into girls..He had a self made oath of being a one man woman
His thoughts were interrupted when he saw her waving her hands in front of his face.. "Will you please say who you are?"her tone was definitely an anger coated one.."What you don't recognize me?you can't be serious man"he said surprisingly .. "kyun tum Parth Samthaan ho?"she questioned him with her eyebrows all twitched and her right hand on her waist,her left holding onto the umbrella "Parth??now who is he"replied Manik all shocked "You don't recognize Parth?you can't be serious man"she copied his accent earning a chuckle from him.
"Anyways hi..I am Manik.Manik Malhotra..wo my car broke down and I need to go to my friend's house,there's an emergency and I don't even have an umbrella so if you could like share your umbrella with me..??asked Manik being all nervous..now that was a first time..being nervous infront of a girl..
"Ohh..like that..sure why not..by the way I am Nandini Murthy"introducing each other they started walking together sharing the same umbrella.There was completely silence under the umbrella with a tinge of awkward air waving between them..Breaking the ice Manik spoke "waise I can't believe you are not my fan..I mean I understand but almost all girls are my fan" "arrey why will I be your fan?tum konsa Parth ho that I will be your fan..kuch bhi"
"Who the hell is this Parth man?"spoke Manik all annoyed.And before he could register anything he felt water droplets seeping through his shirt..he realized that Nandini had moved away from him along with her umbrella letting him alone in the rain "What the..why did you move..I am getting wet here"said Manik wiping the droplets off his face..
"Why did you say who the hell is Parth?say sorry..now"flared Nandini.."What?sorry??sorry for what?for that idi.."he wasn't able to complete his sentence when he saw Nandini raising her eyebrows with the same stern look on her face "Why are you looking like this..okay I am sorry"sighed Manik and Nandini went near him inclining the umbrella towards him..BINGO! and there goes another first..Manik Malhotra never said sorry..When he said it would be a long day may be he was blessed..
"Parth must be your boyfriend..I mean you seem so possessive about him" said Manik praying all the time for her to say a no..a big NO..was he jealous?NO..he met this girl a few minutes ago. "I so wish it"sighed Nandini her eyes twinkling at the thought. "matlab you aren't his girlfriend?seriously?"and there the stars shine through his voice "No.He is every girl's dream yet to be anyone's reality.He is an actor"said Nandini all sad "really?wow..i mean its nice he is an actor"he said earning only a hmm from her..He could sense the sadness in her voice but couldn't control his happiness..he saw a car approaching from the other side in full speed.He pulled Nandini towards himself with a jerk making her bang in his chest..And bas that gave an V.I.P entry to all the butterflies in their stomach and jitters down their spine..Her tiny hands fisted on back clutching his shirt and he completely cocooning her in his embrace..They felt a never experienced peace which made them completely forget of standing in the middle of the road with rain pouring down heavily and them standing under the same umbrella..The umbrella stick was no more in Nandini's hand it was swinging in between Manik and Nandini's shoulder.The car crossed the two lost souls splashing water on their shoes dragging them out of their lala land.Nandini slowly untangled herself from him and was going to hold the umbrella stick when Manik said "Its ok I will hold it.We have a long way to go..Your hands will pain" She simply nodded her head turning her face to the other side. "woh I am sorry..Exactly I saw the car coming and thought..it would..wet you completely..so I..umm" stammered Manik.."Its ok I understand"
And again silence prevailed under the umbrella.. "Waise Nandini you didn't say what you do?I mean you must be a student.You are so small.."he could not complete as Nandini interrupted "NO.I am not a student..I am a doctor. Dr.Nandini Murthy.And I am going to see my patient only.I heard the roads are blocked so I preferred to walk as I had promised my patient to visit her today and I don't go back on my words" Manik's mouth opened wide until Nandini had finished speaking "What?" Nandini pushed his chin up closing his mouth.
"I am sorry but I never expected you to be a doctor"said Manik "hmm..Its ok..nobody does anyway"sighed Nandini
"waise the Dr. before your name is for your medicine degree or for your PsD. On Parth?"questioned Manik.And his question was followed by Nandini's laugh..May be she found his question a bit too funny.But she couldn't stop laughing.She did hold her belly and continued laughing mixed with blush..GOSH!this actor made her blush too..Crazy she is..And when Manik saw her laughing his entire world stopped..For him the entire surrounding had blurred and Nandini was zoomed in..Every sound faded except two..One was her mellifluous laugh and second was his heart's beat..Gawd!he never felt his heart beating so hungrily against his chest
"Nandini"he called out huskily pausing her laugh..she saw him looking intensely towards her "You know I never liked red but after this I think this is gonna be my favorite hue"he said pointing towards her cheek..he couldn't stop himself from thinking how she would look blushing for him..he looked at her face to find her looking down with a tinge of blush still glued to her face..he didn't know it was for him or Parth still he couldn't stop smiling.Nandini started walking but realized that Manik had still not moved..She looked back to find him staring at her intensely..May be they call it having passion in eyes for someone.. "Manik idhar aao na mein bhig rahi hun"said Nandini.Manik mouthed a sorry and moved towards her..He realized how perfect his name sounded from her mouth..He never liked his name so much before..
The sound of rain hitting the road was only audible as none talked and this time it was Nandini who hammered the ice.
"Manik tumne bataya nahi tum kya karte ho?" "kyunki tumne mujhe pucha hi nahi" chuckled Manik earning a pout from her..He so wanted to suck her lips right away..Chasing his filthy hormones he replied "ok I was kidding..First time ever anyone has asked me this question..I sing..We have a band and we perform together and I also have my company where I work..so yeah that's it"
"wait a second!"stopped Nandini "What?"asked Manik surprisingly "Are you the Manik Malhotra from Fab 5?"
"Finally Nandini you recognized me..I am so happy"said Manik joyfully with the zoo inside his stomach thinking about her being a fan of him.. "No no I don't recognize you"and this statement of hers crushed the zoo inside his stomach "then how you.."said Manik all melancholy "woh my friend she is a big fan of yours..I mean your entire band..but she is kind of obsessed with you.She keeps ranting all the time about you guys.even she asked me to accompany her to your concert yesterday.." "Then why didn't you go?you should have went na..tch"said Manik restlessly
"Are you pagal or what?Mein kaise jaati..I came early from hospital yesterday because there was a live chat session with Parthu on twitter..No way I was gonna miss it..but she went..She is a big fan of your's na" "chalo at least koi toh mera fan hai..verna dusre toh Parth Parth karte rehte hein"whispered Manik "tumne kuch kaha?" asked Nandini "nahi toh"said Manik dramatically "by the way did you meet Parth?"
"No. I didn't meet him but you know he has replied me twice on twitter..Gawd!!i was literally jumping that day"said Nandini all happy and continued "and Manik tumhe pata hai he is so blood warminlgly handsome..his eyes,nose and specially his mole above his lips..Gawd!how much I want to kiss it..pata hai I so want my boyfriend to have a mole above his lips so that I can peck it anytime.."and her rant went on and on..and the pang of jealousy grew wider and wider in Manik's heart..it felt as if she was shooting daggers each time.. "Hell no.."screamed Nandini and moved away letting Manik wet in the rain
"what?"asked Manik pulling her slowly towards himself.. "kya hua Nandini all ok?"Manik asked tensed "no its not ok."said Nandini and again moved away from him along with the umbrella leaving Manik in the rain "Manik you too have a mole above your lips..no"
"What?Nandini yeh tum mujhe umbrella ke niche rakh ke bhi bol sakte ho"Manik again pulled Nandini slowly taking the umbrella from her.."Kya hua Nandini tumhe toh acha lagta hai na mole above the lips phir??"Asked Manik his heart doing jumping japak at the thouhjt of Nandini's lips over his mole..uff!!the thought gifted him tingling sensations all over
"Nahi I wanted this in my boyfriend..no"cribbed Nandini "Haan toh banalo mujhe boyfriend..maine kab mana kiya"Manik patted himself on the dialogue but found Nandini wide eyed "you look nice when you smile"said Nandini with a smile making Manik blush this time "umm..Manik mujhe umbrella dedo"said Nandini
"arrey its ok..there's a long way.." "no Manik you have reached..tumhe yahan tak meri umbrella ki lift chahiye thi.."said Nandini a bit sad "oh I didn't realize, your company was too good for me to notice the way"he sounded way sadder than her.."thank you.bye Manik"smiled Nandini faintly,took the umbrella from him and started moving away..
Don't know why but both didn't feel like leaving each other..may be they started liking each other..Manik's heart started pricking seeing Nandini walk away from him.. "FISH!"He rushed towards Nandini and took the umbrella from her sheltering both of them.. "kya hua Manik tum kuch bhul gaye?"she asked seeing him return..no doubt her heart were doing somersaults but she knew he would go back.. "haan I forgot.."panted Manik
"kya?" "Mera dil..my heart Nandini.. I left my heart with you under this umbrella.. I realized we not only shared the umbrella but my heart too..Nandini I will be the one holding the umbrella stick in our relationship.. I want you to be the lyrics to my song..I just want you to walk beside me under the same umbrella.. I just want us to share the same umbrella throughout my life..So making this preety umbrella of yours my witness I want to say that I LOVE YOU Nandini..I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.. I promise mein kabhi bhi Parth ko idiot nahi bolunga and you can kiss my mole whenever you want its all yours.. I know you are shocked but I can't lose so I said I understand if you don't..."the confession stopped there only when he felt Nandini's lips on his mole..Gawd!that was a kind of feeling..inexpressible!! "kitna bolte ho tum..mujhe bhi toh bolne do..I LOVE YOU TOO MANIK..i felt it the moment you hugged me..your arms..it felt the safest place ever.I LOVE YOU TOO"and that was it for Manik..he pulled Nandini towards him and placed his lips on her letting the umbrella cover them completely..a kiss of chaste..a kiss of confession..a kiss of realization..
"Nandini I know you are a fan of Parth but I don't have any prob.." "ohh shit Manik I forgot to tell you kal Parth yahan aa raha hai for an event tum mere saath chal rahe ho and that's final..ok?"He pushed his left leg and his right hand backwards,bowed down and said "In your service madam..banda hazir hai" perfect gentleman!
"yes.yes,yes..Parth I am coming yuhoo!!!"danced Nandini leaving behind a face palmed Manik.
i thght of writing dis a long ago may b d weather motivated me..guys pls comment plleasseee...n i hope wenever u see a boy n gal under an umbrella u remember my story..
