If indeed there has to be a happy moment of redundant order then this is it. My cable guy turned a true gentleman today and fixed the issue that had been plaguing my life for the past three to four days in totality. It is a rarity that he listens and now that he has, I can't help but be all happy!
Well today's episode after the build-up of last two retellings was no less than anti-climatic. The pace too slowed down with few dispensable dramas gracing us. I had honestly been hoping to see the melodies of the day reach a crescendo, sadly it didn't happen. The entire Tia madness is something I'd like to skim over. She is the quintessential bimbo who has nothing better than clothes, jewelry and party on her mind. I don't know but I have this nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach that she is a Medusa under the disguise of a Sylph like creature. I do not know why but I am seeing another Tanveer in the making. Not in terms of acting for Amrapali was brilliant as the scheming woman, Navina...lets really skip over that.
The one thing that I really wanted to see was Tej's interpretation of Shivaay and Tia's marriage. He being the one who lurches on power had to point out the obvious points in power scheme of this particular arrangement. He looks at Shivaay as nothing more than a potent threat to Omkara or rather his weapon that he wishes to wield sooner or later. He makes it clear to Om that Shivaay is the proverbial snake in the garden and that he needs to watch out for. Tej is agitated more so because he believes that life is a race and your kin is the biggest opponent you'd face in such a race. But he is met with a rocky refusal on his theory.
Omkara is a saudade chapter in this particular tale. He is intense with his emotions, be it hate or love. He refutes to Tej's claim and makes it clear that he is never going to let his ambitions get in the way of the bond that he shares with Shivaay. He also jolts his father, Mr. Oberoi, to the truth that exists within him. Shivaay can boss him around because he owns his being. Shivaay loves Omkara and Rudra with all he has, and hence has a right over him that other blood relations are denied. Omkara is your true blue Lakshman...a brother who would fight his own father for his brother. And that tells you enough about the man. In fact his claims are made true when Shivaay obliges Rudra and not Tia into eating the chocolate cake that he hates.
It might look like an insignificant mention, but trust me it was not. Tia is going to be Shivaay's wife. His better half, yet Shivaay choose his brothers over her. Yes he is not happy that both Om and Rudra disapproves of his choices, but you can very well see that he puts his brothers over any romantic inclination that he might have. I loved that such small but significant scenes are given to us to enjoy. I really rate it over the cake fiasco and you know the subsequent follow-ups.
Anika and Saahil are another sibling pair that gives you major goals. The pastel love that they share is amazing especially when they are not tied down by blood. Anika is obsessive with her love towards Saahil and he reciprocates in a similar manner. Good that this brother shocked their monster auntie into oblivion, even if that was for a few hours.
And yes the tashan that was evident between Anika and Shivaay. While superficially it wasn't something that I enjoyed, the under currents did catch my attention. Shivaay and Anika are practically one and the same. They both can brave any catastrophe for their siblings without flinching. If Shivaay can stand at a gun-point, then Anika can stand in front of a man who has the potential to wipe her existence clean. Both have them have been in situations that trouble them still, yet both aren't ready to back down. Maybe this is what the makers are trying to sell us. But if that indeed is the case then they will have to provide this story some mass to stand firm on the ground. Fight and insults and surrounding dramas aren't enough. They look good together; have a fiery chemistry but lack sincerity of love. It is rushing with a plausible speed and no, I cannot bring myself to like that at all. Surbhi needs to improve with portraying melancholy. She clearly lacks at that forte.
Okay and our Ruddy boy deserves mention. This guy changes his focus of attention faster than one can say gotcha! I am waiting for the day his characteristic demeanor will come to the fore. So far he is the little, mischievous yet adorable brother we have come to like in unison. My dad was watching the episode with me tonight and seeing Rudra he said, "Look it is your brother on screen." Oh Rudra we all love you!
There are few thought on which I'd like your opinion too, do you think it would be Om who will be exiled? He made a reference to the epic narration of fraternal love today. And since Ram had been exiled once...I think this time around it Lakshman who will face the axe. And if that is true then Omkara is the one who will have to leave this turbulent Ayodhya. Pinki too had been spying on him, she takes him to be a soft target...I don't know but this scenario seems highly possible.
Tia looks nefarious to me for reasons I cannot fathom. Maybe more so because the girlfriend of the guy is rarely is the good woman. Remember Tanveer and the likes?
Omkara gives you such freakin' hair goals. Tell me how is it that a guy has such luscious mane and we girls have to literally tame ours every time we need to step out? Mine makes me look like Eep from The Croods, the curly locks are frayed from everywhere to everywhere.
Precap looks interesting. I for one want to see more of Jhanvi. The more I see her, the more she feels like an adaptation of Man Bai and I can't help but feel for her.
