Hello everyone... As usual this post is a ramble, a jumble of incoherent thoughts... you all need to find the method in my madness (btw, I can never find it myself😉)... So, shall we begin..
Today's episode was about a girl's doggedness to fight, not to give up, and to conquer her physical disabilities... a girl's resolve to win against the trials and tribulations of life. But was this all?
No, more than anything yesterday, the show lived up to its title..."ek duje ke vaaste"...
Today's episode was about love, love that has not known any boundaries, where dreams and realities merge, where souls and minds become one... today's episode told us why Shravan and Sumo are all love... and made for each other❤️
Sumo trying to get back on her feet... and in the corner Shravan sitting... pushing her to extend her limits without imposing himself on her... constantly giving her feedback'... ya she can do it, at times even needling her... so that she could reach her potential
And then a request from Preetha for a new gas cylinder... Sumo searches for her phone to give a call to the gas agency but sadly, unable to reach for the phone. Shravan asks politely, should I give it to you... twice. And she responds in the affirmative... he shrugs his shoulder in amusement and gives a faint smile (happy and contented that she has allowed him to be a part of her world again). As soon as Shravan picks up the phone, both he and Sumo are privy to an intimate, personal and private conversation. Whose? Our very own superjet couple, Preekar😆 The first line of this convo is epic... we are no more friends but much more than friends... Shravan's expression was all embarrassment (he hoped that Sumo had not caught his deep feelings of attachment for her😉), confusion, surprise, and a faint smile. Sumo confused, slight embarrassment as well, but thoroughly enjoying herself...
But what was great was this line's resonance in their lives... "Beautiful ehsaas" was always more than friendship ... Also, note in listening to this personal conversation of their respective siblings... their own intimacy is being foregrounded... it is now their subjective, private world which took a form through Preekar's conversation. Brilliant direction.👏
(Though I have a question for this super-jet couple... Who in todays' times actually speak to each other that too pyaar wala something through a landline?🥱 Ah! well... incongruity at its best. Probably, also mirroring the contradictory nature of love of our lead couple... they say something and mean something else.
Anyways, throughout the convo.. . the way Shravan was embarrassed (also, because he was intruding into his brother's private convo), surprised and Sumo enjoying herself was truly hilarious... Shravan who was absolutely surprised that Pushkar was in love with Preeti... found it more amusing and happy that his Sumo had a gleam in her eyes, the naughty girl was once again alive (and was he happy that he could see and feel it again)... A childhood moment recreated when she said she would take a class of Pushkar (Remember, she was taking a class of someone when young Shravan had approached her with his mother's news... ten years back)... Interestingly, this time in taking a class of Push, they come together again as friends who loved to create secrets, craft new codes... to defy the world and to fashion their own private world.❤️
Anyways, Push is fried, boiled, tasted and swallowed by Sumo even in this state (More than Pushkar, I am worried for our Oxford-Grad... how will he be able to deal with this madcap in the near future?😆)... Pushkar is not even allowed to sit at the breakfast table and gaze at Preeti (who herself is trying to look nonchalant... and in the process soup bowl becomes empty😉). While Sumo is firing rapid volleys at Push, his elder brother is bemused with the proceedings. But, he doesn't interfere as if he knows that it is Sumo's birthright to take classes of anyone... Note also, Shravan refuses to take classes of his brother for not telling him of his love story... merely happy that his brother is happy. But, far more interesting is that he never stops Sumo from taking classes... and in fact, joins in her game to needle his brother (one can also say he doesn't have an option😃). Sumo can make him go round on her pinky finger... (okay... did I hear all of you burst laughing? Stop laughing... read on😡)
SM-ST come back to the room after their secret entertainment... and Sumo goes on to make further plans till Pushkar confesses his love for Preeti to her... And meanwhile, Shravan looks on... longingly, totally at peace with what he saw... Sumo making plans, further secret rendezvous... and he merely satisfied to be the part of her happy existence. Just see where he is sitting ... on the bed at her feet... he doesn't claim his love, he doesn't shout out his love... he is just there, again unnoticed by Sumo when she is going in her full flow...Sumo's bed yesterday denoted the private world of Shravan (No guttery thoughts, people... What you cant think of anything else. Shame! Devil has corrupted you all😡🥱)... This is where he wanted to be without imposing himself on her, in bliss at the picture he saw... in complete awe of his lady love at her glamourous best... Did you notice how the young Shravan and adult Shravan coalesced in this image? Didn't... ah! you all were joking. Thank God!😛
In this happy, serene and peaceful world of SM-ST (almost felt like a conjugal atmosphere).. .enters our very own Ramu baba...Poor man, must have been cursing the day when he spent lakhs on his son's Oxford-degree. After having experienced the pleasures of London and probably having met people from across different parts of the world... what was his son doing? Sitting at a messy bed... that too at the foot of the bed where the girl was lying and whose existence for Ramu Baba was nothing more than being Tiwariji's granddaughter... In silence, in ecstasy, in contentment and lost in her smiles and plans.🤗
He had to disturb this intimate atmosphere by a cough... both of them were so lost in their world. (Did he not notice his son's love for Sumo... I guess he should have even if he has not gauged the depth of his son's love for Sumo. Nevertheless his insecurities will definitely increase🤢) One was lost in her world and the other in her bizarre schemes ... Shravan was quick to change his stance on noticing his dad... immediately, the practical side of him took over (Ramu Baba... I guess your money spent on your son's education is not a waste... as you shall soon know in future). He jumped off from the bed (quite literally😉), while Sumo who was pursuing her ideas to snare Pushkar... did not seem at all ruffled. Btw, Sumo never paid her respect to Ramu in fact, she hardly even noticed him.👏 Ramu Baba to get rid of this pest called Sumo from his son's life... did a good turn by inviting the famous doctor, Dr. Dayal. Anyways, Dr. Dayal asked the patient and her family members as to what Sumo liked doing best... one which she was completely sure of. Who answered this query? Shravan... not her family members, not Sumo herself, not Preetha or Nanu... He knew instinctively that she can cook even with her eyes closed. Few days back, there was a question posed by Push to his brother... have you seen her cook? Have you noticed how happy she is when she cooks? Pushkar your brother knows it more than Sumo herself... he has experienced her cooking when her professional world had not even initiated, when it was all passion and not intertwined with profit and loss.🤗
Doctor leaves and Sumo is not at all convinced of her physical strength to deal with this pressure. As always, Shravan interjects and says you did it in childhood during the painting project... so you can do now. They show the fb... where young Sumo as usual is flustered and tensed that she would lose her face in front of her group of friends... why the hell did she enter the competition? Young Shravan says she can do it... just close your eyes and draw...She is more angry and confused as to how one can draw with their eyes closed... and he says I shall hold your hand.
This fb is brilliant, mindblowing... I have no other words for it.👏 A painting as an artistic product is more subjective and private than other aesthetic renderings and can be said to be a manifestation of a visual dream... an imagination whose colours and hues belong solely to the painter. Yet, what was shown yesterday... was this dream taking shape, putting on a form and a structure through a hand which did not belong to the painter. It belonged to Shravan... How did he know what her dream was and which way her dream will lead on? How did Shravan's hands follow Sumo's dreams? How was he able to penetrate her private, mental world? How her imagination did become a painting to be shared and loved by all? Whose hands were these? Sumo's or Shravan's?
Dreams remain a mere happy illusion till the time one does not actualize it...one needs to wake up... and Shravan woke her up. Made her actualize it by becoming her resolve, her will power... It was not that the efforts were not her own as it was correctly pointed out by adult Shravan. But, as Sumo said he held her hand... he did not let her waver from her goal, from her potential. Of late, there have been many debates regarding Shravan not being respectful of her dreams or not even being aware of her journey during those ten long years of absence. I guess, it was answered yesterday... He doesn't need to be at her side physically to know of her dreams or of her passion, he shared her dream... and knew how to make it alive and what's more to allow it be circulated to others. If the painting won an award and made other people happy, her cooking allows people to smile and to feel relaxed a day's hard work.☺️ Her dreams are as much a part of his system as our very special daal (No... don't scream my friends... I am sorry I shall refrain from using Daal😃)
Anyways, Sumo comes forward to accept the challenge of cooking... tries to make coffee... but after repeated attempts and failures... is unable to do so. What a contrast it was to the earlier scene when she was in full flow making her madcap schemes to trap Push and here a dejected and a heartbroken Sumo unable to make her hands follow her dreams...the whole family in turn upset and dejected with no solution in sight... No one able to talk through her pain or to strengthen her resolve... One pair of eyes, however, pained, hurt and yet, pensive... thinking his way through the labyrinths of darkness...
Trying to make those dreams become real... a potentiality and not a mere possibility... trying not to let her resolve weaken
Nikita as Sumo was brilliant particularly in the last scenes dealing with her disability and her need to go beyond her physical imperfections. Her motivation and her determination were well-etched out. As a girl trying to win and conquer the odds... she did really well. Namik as Shravan was fabulous in becoming a mere voice, a smile and a presence whose sole aim was to make Sumo's dreams become a part of her quotidian existence. Namik's eyes (yes, yes every post of mine has to have something about his eyes...Nope, the Devil hasn't corrupted me😉) reflected his admiration for a girl who did not want to give up... a girl who was once named by Shravan as Sumo...
Ranjit as Pushkar was equally good as the flustered lover... who had no say in the presence of the madcap Sumo...
Well, again this post would not be complete without an acknowledgement of my wonderful, insightful friends... Rekha, Red and J
Special thanks to Quirky333 telling me to follow my dream (sorry guys, cant reveal the dream😃)
Orion, I hope I have done justice to yesterday's episode...😳
And since rambles lead to further rambles and jottings... its time for me to stop my ramble and let other thoughts to emerge...
