At some or the other point of life we have subjected to or ourselves say simple lies to kids coz of one to many reasons.

eg: Toothfairy, Santa, quit mischeif or off u go to haunted house accross the street etc...I mean at tender age if kids discover there is no as such toothfairy or so called haunted house is where his school mate xyz lives and he is not a monster... I guess it might hard for them to understand the actual intend and emboss something negative about yaa in mind, forever.

Do not want touch the traditional side of it, just simple question Is it right lie to kids when there is potential risk of loosing thier trust forever ?

i am yet me meet with a kid who got scarred for life when he / she found out about the real absence of Santa and TF..

however, you are right about the terrible effects of parents lieing (however it is spelt )
some fake illnesses when their sons fall in love with an OUTSIDER 😉 .. some fake even heart-attacks and high choldesterol and sugar due to TENSION 😆 ..
Those are harmful lies that may emotionally blackmail and abuse their adult kids and cause some sort of a serious permanent damage to their happiness..

these are not lies - just a matter of faith... I dont think its lying... kids take these ideas sincerely and have strong values... kids who outlearn these things too early are possibly responsible for all the negative things in the society.....

And also remember the saying a lie which soothes is better than the truth which can hurt....

Actually we can all learn from the kids. They never hold a grudge when truth reveals itself and they never judge an adult based on a single thing. They are able to keep their conviction about who and why they like someone in the first place. it is the adult who gets messed up when they realize that they have been lied to.

Personally I don't like it when people scare their kids by mentioning monsters or ghosts. However, some lies are warranted IMO. It's far easier to lie about how babies come rather than actually explaining it to a kid.

As kids we love fantasy and the fantasy world. We are afraid of Bhudda baba 😆 and love our Chanda mama

Toothfairy and Santa Claus all are part of the fantasy life.
They realized it too and is never considered a lie

Oh I remember when someone tried to explain to a kid why his sister was taking a long time to be born - and his response was - she should not have crawled in there in the first place.😆

😆😆

Am not a physcologist but realizing the truth in above case might not be so earth shattering (for some) as compared to Santa story, IMO. There are researches been done on this instance and yes it is believed that knowing there is no Santa can have a minor to major impact on kids as far is trust is concerned.

Fantasy world, I agree... and yes we all realize it now but being at that tender age it might be hard understand. Thats the age when certain things imprint in child's mind and remians forever.
