I have been watching Gangaa and following all the discussion as to what the viewers are liking and what they are not. Clearly we are all impressed by the actors especially the acting powerhouse called Vishal Vashishtha not playing but simply living Sagar. So, in this post I re-visit those 5 (or may be 6) times that awakened me to some very important shades of Sagar and the ones that gave me a complete viewing satisfaction: - (in other words, 6 times when I absolutely fell in love with Sagar, deeply, truly and genuinely!!) TRust me its going to be a difficult exercise: -
1.) Yeh le Laal...The Holi track could definitely be considered as the most powerful and impactful track of the show and I can bet the tone of the show can never reach those heights ever. This scene particularly when the Passionate Sagar was throwing colours on Gangaa...when he was painting a widow's life red, blue, green, violet, orange. This scene I cannot ever describe was a creative masterpiece and Mr. Vashishtha brought this to Life magically!! I felt liberated, vindicated and supremely impressed.
2.) Har baat mein zid...baithi reh chupchap... This was the scene when Gangaa was bitten by the scorpion and Sagar comes to tend her wounds. I could so feel the buiding up emotion within Sagar. He had a complete right over Gangaa...yet, he could just not fathom what was happening to him. He clearly tells Maharajji to leave as he was there with Gangaa...he was confident and clear. Please don't mind my lack of observation, but it was for the first time in this scene that I noticed, the voluminous eyes of Vishal...the way he was restlessly looking at the wound, at his Gangaa, searching for the scissors and then finally bending down to Gangaa's feet to cut the bandage. THe chills ran down Gangaa and the audience, it was magic and the most impactful male ishqnasheen ever...every word was resonating in the scene...Yeh mujhe Kya hua...Kya hua..I so wish such moments could have continued longer than the quick realization and the implusive marriage. THis stage of romance, the Uns is the most magical of all stages
3.) Bohot Achichi lag rahi hai tu...ekdum alag si...This was Sagar at his charming-adorable best...the gulp, the awkwardness in the presence of Sudha Bua, the love, the happiness and pure Romance was just perfect...It was not the mills and boons waist feeling or sensuous romance...but it was what one can call a Classic Romance...all was expressed, and felt through the eyes. This is the romance which I so wished to continue a bit more...but this one scene did the magic for me.
4.) Swaahaaa...Now, how can we forget this scene...we should have predicted Jaanvi's death at the time, when Sagar did his grihasthi ke chitaa scene. I just so so was taken in by the scene...was totally in it!! The emotion in the hindsight for the actor is RESPECT!!
5.) Lalla Lalla Lori...I can just not excude the emotional scene with Dadi...I so adore the Chaturvedi boys for their values that they have been brought up with and the emotional connect that Sagar shares with his Dadi...despite being completely broken and guilt ridden, he was worried about his Dadi's health and was concerned about her medicines. This scene was also a very important turning point in the narrative when Sagar slowly recovers from his guilt ridden state of mind to think rationally, the transformation to his rationality was also shown very effectively through this scene.
6.) Papa, Bhaiya, Sorry...I wanted 5 but I could not leave this scene out when the disturbed, messed up, guilt-ridden Sagar is apologizing to his family after the initial banter. It was not only Vishal, but every actor that made the scene what it was. I seriously feel Gungun Uprari is one understated actress...she and everyone was so damn good in this scene.
In the context of scenes, I am leaving out the confession scene, Sagar-Gangaa meet after 10 years and Sagar putting vermilion on Gangaa...Pawan, Nirmal Gangaa even though they were very very impressive...as I guess they are everyone's favourites. it was the most difficult of the choices. THere are many other very impactful scenes like Sagar giving his father's pen to Gangaa...it displayed the unbreakable bond between these two...I just so...loved this scene as well.
Tell me which are your favourite scenes and if possible, one line to articulate as to why did that scene impress you so much.

One of my fav scenes is the one after Jhanvi's death when nobody was able to make Sagar cry while he remained by the deadbody shocked and lost holding onto Jhanvi's hand. Then, Gangaa entered, he felt her presence and tears started rolling down his eyes, he dropped Jhanvi's hand hugged Gangaa tight and cried out desperately giving way to all the pent up emotions. A crying Gangaa, forgetting all those harsh words she has ever old him, took him in her arms and consoled him understanding the pain behind each of the words he was uttering and feeling his grief with the same intensity what he was going through. This scene depicted their eternal bond which is way above everything else. One more impactful scene is the one where Sagar pins Gangaa to the wall on his reception night and Gangaa pushes him away considering it a sin.
With this I want to add that like you I had also wanted Sagar's realisation to be delayed a bit and we should have gotten more of such scenes where he is confused about his actual feelings for Gangaa. His realisation till his impulsive marriage to Jhanvi happened too fast. I am a big sucker of classic soft "falling in love" moments and slow realisation, which unfortunately never happened in this show. Gangaa has always considered him as her husband, and Sagar too has always loved her, only a push was needed for him to realise that. I had hoped that after the Jhanvi chapter is over for some time we will be shown loads of SaGa having awkward romantic/intense moments here and there like the almost kissing scene from 23rd June😳! As their wedding has been announced they are already behaving very boldly which I feel seems a bit unrealistic considering whatever their equation has been since childhood and all those havocs in their life lately. This was the ideal time to show Classic romance for a while and they are already so comfortably hugging, kissing and being touchy-touchy!

Hi Rangan11, I completely agree with both the scenes that u brought up. The death scene was my favourite too...but just that in my head I decided on a deadline of 5 to 6...so had to restrict myself. Also, I have read your other posts and comments as well...and I so totally agree with the idea that they clearly messed up the romance which could have been so so beautiful and extraordinary. Now they are playing Ishqnasheen everyday and the romance is getting a little unrealistic. Anyway, the idea was to bring out the most effective scenes...:)

Alright...so according to you the month of March rocked...😊 I agree. Another thing, see I also believe in the physical intimacy thing...but the creatives should remember that they are friends first and lovers later. The camarederie, the understanding, the bond is very pure. Especially now, after what all has happened in both their lives...its time that the love story matures and the show regains its structure and essence.

All of the above mentioned scenes are awesome,

Vishal is such an awesome actor and plays intense scenes so well that he can evoke whatever the character is feeling in you as an audience. Romance is great but it's these that you can truly appreciate the level of vishals acting. When he was in veera some of his best scenes were where he had PTSD and was acting nuts!

I get so nostalgic when I hear someone mentioning Veera😊. The innocent, cute, funny, deliciously naughty, bhola bhala, aym, intense, crazy, hopelessly romantic Ballu will always remain very close to my heart. ❤️ No other actor could have enacted that role so convincingly, thanks to Vishal portraying all those shades flawlessly!👍🏼

Yes, I also believe that for romantic scenes, today the actors have a lot of reference points, they can watch so many movies to get the cues...but there are other scenes, the Holi scene for instance, or the Dadi scene or the one when he was initially playing with Gangaa and then suddenly gets his bouts of depression and breaks down...these are the scenes for which you don't find many popular reference points, say in films etc. and this is when you realize the depth of Vishal as a performer. He has made them his own and performed with elan. I don't like when people constantly and only talk about his looks and physical appearance...he is much more than that.
Have immense respect for him...😊

At such an young age his acting capability astounds me! He is such a powerhouse that in his scenes with other actors, our attention always follows him! Moreover, he can portray any kind of emotion perfectly, be it anger, comical, sad, romantic, mischievous and many many more. This talent is something even some of the great actors don't possess! Most of them fail in one or more departments. His physical appearance is a bonus along with his superb dancing skill.
