Signing movie doesn't make you Hollywood star. Wait for release: Priyanka

When asked whether she is willing to play the lead actress in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, Priyanka said she is right now busy with Quantico 2 shoot and, therefore, can't do any another film till March.(Instagram)

Priyanka Chopra, who is all set to take over the West with her much -awaited film Baywatch, feels that signing a movie does not brand anyone as a Hollywood actor.

Interacting with the media on the sidelines of the IIFA 2016, the 33-year-old actor said, "Signing a movie does not make you Hollywood actor. Let the movie release first. I am very excited about Baywatch's release."

When asked whether she is willing to play the lead actress in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, Priyanka said she is right now busy with Quantico 2 shoot and, therefore, can't do any another film till March.

"Of course, I want to do .We had a lot of discussion over this. But I am doing Quantico season 2 and hence I can't do another film till March. Only after March, I can do Bollywood or any other film," she said.

Speaking about the IIFA night, Priyanka won the best performance in a supporting role (female) for Bajirao Mastani.

PC is so right with the statement signing a HW movie doesnt make you a HW Star. Let alone the kind of movies the girls signed be it Baywatch or xXx in hollywood they wont see them as Stars so soon. Long way to go but PC definetely has brownie points through Quantico and her management team doing a good job with promoting her over there. I dont even want to compare PC and DP with the hollywood projects because both have total different aims. PC seems like she will only do a bollywood movie if its worth it else she aint comeing back to bollywood DP seems more attached to Bollywood than PC. Maybe it has also to do with the familys. PCs mom is always with her so maybe thats why easier for her.

Priyanka also said in another interview that just doing one Hollywood movie doesn't make you a Hollywood star, you have to continuously do good work and then maybe.

I think it's more the years spent in Bollywood affecting their decision. PC's been around the top for actresses for a long time and is the oldest of her cohort that's still around. She pretty much done has done it all and she is aware that her shelf-life may be starting to expire now that people like Alia Bhatt are her competitors. So Hollywood is more uncharted territory for her to take time to explore

DP on the other hand has just risen a couple of years ago; there's still a vast range of roles and shades that she has yet to perform. And more years for her to stay at the top. So it makes sense that she doesn't want to pack it all up and just switch base so soon. If Xander Cage is successful, there's a good chance that she can go global, but I bet she'll use this movie as a base in the distant future, rather than now while her Bollywood career is so active

Pee Cee trying to take a dig at DP and her new found HW star status.

There is no real HW star in BW. Closest who has come to being a star is Irfan Khan and Shilpa Shetty

I think Priyanka's actually doing better than ever before and is getting way more offers even in Bollywood. It's just another thing that she doesn't have the time to do them. If she's giving away movies like Gustakhiyan that gives a pretty good idea of the situation. Priyanka's getting good offers from Hollywood and Bollywood but limited time... it will be interesting to see what she picks.
