You know what? Even I thought about it. There were many small things that have been fast forwarded. Like Shabri milaap, or Sugreev's lapse, Angad, Jamwant, Hanuman's search efforts, Nal Neel's introduction, etc. But since this is Ramayan from Sita's POV, IMO they are focusing on her stay in Lanka, rather than Ram's journey to find her. I, for one, was always curious about Sita's stay in Lanka and how she faces day to day situations. It could not have been easy for a lone woman, unless her internal divinity shone through, to face the demons & yet, maintain her purity living amidst the basest of base creatures. There were many women who were violated by Raavan. But only Sita managed to stay in Lanka unharmed. So there must've been greater forces at play. Because no ordinary woman could've gone through what she went through and come out of the ordeal unscathed, despite their courage, or devotion to the Lord. This is her story. So I think it is natural for the makers to spend more time with Sita than the small instances that everyone already knows about.
If tomorrow someone comes up with Panchanli's story, they will not highlight all the individuals details of Mahabharat that we know about Pandav's journey. It will/should focus on Draupadi's feelings, her POV and her situations in life.
That is not to say that the other things aren't important. But their story has already been told. This is Ramayan from Sita's POV. At least this is the way I see it. 😊
