Salman now in legal soup over his 'raped woman' comment

In what may spell fresh trouble for Salman Khan presently in dock over his 'raped woman' comment, a lawyer on Wednesday filed a petition against the actor in a lower court in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh for hurting the prestige of women.

"I thought how he can know the feeling of rape. He is not even married. He has hurt the prestige of women. His comment projected anti-women, insulting and polluted mindset. A complaint has been filed under Sections 294 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code. The court has taken cognizance of it and ordered to file the lawsuit," the lawyer Manoj Dikshit told ANI.

Salman in a recent interview said that he "felt like a raped woman" during Sultan's shooting, drawing the wrath of fans and women activists alike.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) yesterday demanded an apology within seven days from the Bollywood superstar.

NCW chief Lalitha Kumaramangalam sought a public apology from the Bollywood actor and asked for an explanation.

Dubbing Salman's comment as 'irresponsible and careless', Kumaramangalam told ANI that the actor would be summoned if his explanation is unsatisfactory.

Salman made the comments during an interview with entertainment website spotboye.com to promote Sultan that tells the story of an ageing wrestler trying to make a comeback.

"When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn't walk straight," the 50-year-old actor said on Monday.

Mumbai, June 22: Trouble seems to be escalating for actor Salman Khan who landed into controversy due to his raped woman' comment. The Bollywood stalwart has been summoned by Maharashtra State Commission for Women to justify his remark. The panel has issued a notice to him, instructing Salman to appear before the Commission on June 29 at 2 PM.

State women's commission moved into action after political parties jumped into the controversy and exerted pressure. On Tuesday, National Commission for Women (NCW) demanded an explanation from Salman. If the justification given by the actor remains unsatisfactory, a summon would be issued against him.

The entire row erupted on Saturday, when Salman, while addressing a group of journalists made a loose comment about raped woman'. On being asked about the efforts taken by him at the sets of Sultan, he replied, "When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be like a raped woman walking out."

His comment was criticised by women activists across the nation. Salman's father Salim Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan have apologized for the remark.

Yeah. This one will also be buried. If even pogroms can be buried in India then what is the chance of case on a comment?

NCW and MSWC have summoned him. Doubtful he will present himself or respond to the notice.

Just enjoy greater limelight and aura of bad boy who no court can get and who will never mend his ways.

His dabangg coterie must be laughing.

This is total over exaggeration by filing case like ppl did with Tanmay. Bash as much as you want but u can't file a case on someone on what their said ab kya bolne par bhi case hoga ??

These media doesn't cover what needs to be covered but covers n give it hype when some BW ppl says something like their did with Aamir then Srk on intolerance issue n now with Salman. Yeh kardo wo kardo ab kya jaan loge kya.

There are far more serious issues which needs light n publicity than these things n make it like national issue.
