M S Dhoni: The Untold Story postponed to avoid clash with Akira ?

Seems like the makers don't want to clash with another film...

Sonakshi Sinha revealed the first poster of Akira last night and we were totally intrigued by her look. However, we were surprised by the new release date that the poster carried on it - September 2. That was the same day Sushant Singh Rajput's M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story was supposed to release. However, it seems the latter doesn't want to clash with the former film and hence they have postponed their film.

While Akira is an action packed thriller, Sushant's film is a biopic on India's cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In a statement to the media, the CEO of Fox Star Studios (producers), Vijay Singh said, "It was a unanimous decision to release the film on September 30. This would give the team some more time to present the film to the audiences in the best way. We in no way wanted to compromise on the visual experience that Neeraj Pandey is set to create with this movie."

Arun Pandey, Chairman of Rhiti Group-owned Inspired Entertainment, also revealed, "The postponement of the release date by three weeks will only help the post production team to further augment the value proposition of the film. This is one of the most-awaited films of the year and I am sure fans will understand that the marginal delay will only help enhance the visual experience of the end product."
