@Vrish -- even though I agree with most of your points, I do think that the start has been weaker than the promos. May be it is the female lead's character - which though likable due to her bubbliness and positivity is confusing in parts.

One of my issues is that the promos made it look like she was focused on money and was the practical one. In the show -- in order to keep the female lead "clean" -- it is the mother who is focused on money and the girl is pretty happy go lucky and is not money-minded.

Lack of story direction -- Is it about a FL looking to get rich by marrying in to a rich family or a FL who finds innovative ways to stretch the money she has and make more??

Anyway I am going to cut it a lot of slack for now and see if I still like it by june 26th -- then the next new show starts, Ishqzaade 😆😆 I can only watch so many 😉

Katori, I didn't see it as contradictory. Her mom was raising the washing machine (dowry) issue right after the wedding itself, which was inappropriate. Anokhi was urging her to go easy on it for 2 reasons. One was that it was the site of the wedding, and that was an inappropriate place to bring up such issues. The other was that since this was her best friend who had become her bhabi, she obviously was uneasy about her family demanding the washing machine from Priyanka's family.

The FL's goals - the latter causes the desire for the former. She has to really stretch her budget and resort to underhanded ways of getting things she wants - like sabotaging the card reader in that market - to get 18k less off the lehenga. Hence, she too wants to get rich, and in as expedient a way as possible - by marrying rich.

I'll be following this - I expect to stop following Jana na dil se duur sometime next month, when I'm back in the US, can't access hotstar there and would be back to following only Kumkum bhagya.

I am US too. Have dish but watch mostly everything online. 😃

I actually like all the actors except the female lead - she's a little odd looking, I would have expected them to cast someone more good-looking next to Varun Toorkey. Perhaps someone with an up-to-date hairstyle, curvier, fuller lips as she has none. It's awkward because Kunal's mum is better looking than the female lead. Oh well, maybe she'll grown on me. Another thing, her character is really childish for her age isn't she? I'm a 24 year old journalist in England myself, never have I met anyone to act in that way - not even 16 year olds, we all mature quite fast here.

Vrish- for me the main problem with anokhi's characterization is that she is childish. .. for her money isn't that important as shown in the promo.. she just needs money for her small wishes and basic needs and that's was not her character in the promo. .. that type of playful characterization will match a happy go lucky gal... but anokhi is shown to be a calculative money minded person who needs to be more mature and a little cunning too...she is too sweet to be anokhi... anokhi's mom is the one who is playing the promo wali anokhi role perfectly. . I haven't seen the weekend episodes ... hoping that they brought some more clarity in the serial of what's happening with tushar...and in romantic scenes electric feeling should be felt by audience ... but here they have transformed tushar into live wire. ..

Katori- me to waiting eagerly for ishqbaaz... promos are so exciting and yeah Gul khan's show runs beautifully for 1st year...

Ishani, the girl who plays anokhi is good in some scenes but overacts sometimes. .. needs to change her makeup as well as voice modulation. ..

@Mera and Surbhi -- The actress is new. I am hoping she will improve with practice. The character is not as clearly written as it should have been as most soaps on the strengths of female leads. She is strange mix of street smart, cunningness, sweetness, over-bubbliness, childishness. They will need to clarify this very quickly or the show will sink.

One thing I liked about her is that she is not shy, coy types or overly traditional. She dressed in pants to go for the interview. This is pretty rare sight for the daily soaps where leads rarely move away from salwar suits or sarees.

I think this story is moving too fast. One week into the serial starting, and already Anokhi is trying to sabotage Tushar's engagement, at the behest of her mom? And I'm not getting who is she after. She seems to be fond of the real Tushar (who she thinks is Kunal), but she's trying to sabotage who she thinks is Tushar's engagement so that she can land Kunal and his riches.

Also, is Kunal a part of the family? And is he married - didn't look like it. Yet, Jesse mentioned to Anokhi that Tushar is the only remaining member of the family yet to marry. In which case, what is Kunal?

Wonder if Kunal will marry the Jaipur Arora gal?
