Woah!! From where do I begin? Am not sure... I'm still dealing with the after effects of yesterday's episode. Sona & Dev's confession was one of the most realistic, simple, mature & touching confessions I've ever seen. Not that I remember any of the previous ones. In fact, I don't want to remember any of them!
"Jaana tho abhi padega Ma, vasai bohoth der ho chuki hai," Dev tells his mother & he leaves to meet Sona. Post his realization, he instantly wanted to know what Sona felt about him. But he'd to sort things out to get them out of their way. He didn't want anything between them. And now he's finally ready to confess his love to her. And he wasn't going to waste a single second.
It's 2 am, early morning & he's impatient. Time isn't moving. Time has a wonderful way of showing what really matters. Sona matters to him. It's late & he doesn't really care about it. He had to meet her. Sooner the better! So, he wasn't waiting anymore. He looks at the moon, wondering when the moon will fade away, so that the time is right. But Dev babu, there is never a right time to do any right thing. And he does exactly that. He goes ahead & knocks on her door. Sona, who is half asleep, opens the door, thinking it's the milkman. When Dev calls her "Ms. Bose", she thinks it's her imagination that is playing with her again but opens her eyes to realize it was really her Dev' standing in front of her. Caught in a surprise, she calls him Dev' for the first time & corrects herself immediately & asks, "Mr. Dixit, Aap Yahan kya kar rahe ho?" Dev doesn't want to delay anything any further & asks her to trust him & come along with him. She wanted to change her clothes before she left with him. But Dev caught hold of her hand & says, "Main aur wait nahi kar sakta." It was a way of showing that this time, he wasn't going to let her go, before he speaks his mind. Oh Dev! Loving the eagerness & the impatience in you. He wanted to share with her the most important feeling he was going through. And it had to be very soon.
Dev & Sona's car conversation was so emotionally stirring. He'd asked her what the nick name she'd given him was. His intention was to convey to Sona about the difference/changes in him. What he was a few days back & what he is now. Mr. Aubodhro, the rude & arrogant man who never smiles & who was born with a frown didn't know much about colours. All he knew was he could see them but never understood it's significance & the depth it has. When he was in school he knew what the rainbow colours were but he never really saw a rainbow to understand it's meaning. Today, he's a changed person & he wishes to see a rainbow just before it rains. Today he's wearing a colourful shirt, which he never used to wear before. Dev was talking like how Sona spoke about love. Love brought that change in him. Sona was clearly confused by the way Dev was talking. She wouldn't have in her wildest dreams thought that Mr. Dixit would ever understand her. She'd given up hope.
He took her to the hospital where the ever frowning & never smiling boy was born. Then to the school, where he'd once stood in a corner to distribute sugar when Nikki was born. Because of that one small gesture of happiness, they didn't have sugar at home for two days & he was reprimanded for that. It was a precious moment when his sister was born, but it didn't stop him from being happy in spite of their hardships. He then drove to the pathway, where he & his mother used to walk every day when he had to go for his tuition's. All this time, we see a Sona, who is intently listening to him. She isn't talking or thinking much. Him sharing his stories to her is all what she ever wanted & she was getting to listen to them. These were the moments which made him what he was. Lastly, he took her to the house where they had lived till his father was alive. It was from there where he'd begun to lose everything...his father, his childhood & maybe himself too.
"Lekin jahaan sab kuch koya, wahin sab kuch paana chahatha hoon"
He's looks at Sona, with this intensity, trying to indirectly tell her that he wanted her. He was done with losing many things for himself, but not anymore. He wanted her, all for himself. He was very serious about it. Then he asked her why she wasn't asking him anything, why he was taking her to all these places & why he was telling her all these things. Going back to the mirror conversation in today's episode, he tells her, "Aise tho aap humeshe itna bolti hai, meri imagination mein kyun nahi bolti." Just like in his imagination, she was very quiet & didn't ask him anything. Sona, couldn't think of anything because she was trying to live all those memories when he was sharing it with her. She was speechless. And he was getting close to telling her what he wanted to. It was not tough anymore for him, as Sona put it, in his imagination. He says that she always used to ask him why he never shared anything with anyone, but today he was sharing everything with her. He was sharing his life!
"Jab mein aapse mila, tab mein Mr. Aubhodhro tha. Lekin ab mein Mr. Aubhodhro nahi hoon"
With a gleam of happiness on his face he says, he's not that man anymore. He's learnt how to smile, he's learnt how to say sorry, learnt how to not depend on sleeping pills, learnt how to share things, learnt how to wear an orange colour shirt, he's learnt many more things & wants to learn more. He wants to be a better man. He's learnt to love himself, which was one of the hardest things he's ever done. Thanks to Sona, that everything is all beginning to get rosy rosy around him. "You make me want to be a better person." Dev was slaying it today with all these dialogues. Phew!!
He says her name in a husky voice, "Sonakshi!" That sparkle in his eyes, that shyness & that smile on his face emoted million things. "Naam bhi khoobsoorat hai, aur aap bhi!" He was complimenting Sona for the very first time. And Sona sure was flattered, floored!
"Ab mein saaf saaf bhaath kehena chahatha hoon. Miss Sonakshi Bose, I love you!"
The dreamy expression that he had on his face changed into a serious one. He wanted to get her attention. He was going to tell her, what his mind was screaming at him all day & she'd to listen to him carefully. And he finally said it. That he loves her! He'd been waiting to tell her this from the time he'd realized it. But he had to clear his conscious before he expressed his love. Sona stood there, rooted to the ground, all shaken up, staring at him. And Dev was not calm anymore. He was staring at her with this passion; he was waiting to hear what Sona had to say. He was trying to search for some hint on her face in that split second. Sona is shocked & she stutters, asking him,"You love me? As a friend, right??? I mean jaise ek dost ek... Sona's reaction was completely practical. She wasn't sure if she was hearing the right thing. She thought he'd definitely meant it in some other way because this couldn't be happening to her. It was not possible.
Dev, cuts her off immediately & says, "I love you as a man loves a woman!" Period. No more confusion, no more dragging, he wanted to get his point across, into Sona's head. He didn't want to leave any chance. Sona froze when he said those words. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Then she saw him move back slowly. He'd done what he wanted to do. He expressed what he felt about her. Now, the ball was in her court. It was her time to tell him what she felt about him. He so badly wanted to hear what he wanted. Never, never, never thought Dev would be this bold! What an amazing way to confess your love. This is definitely going to be the new way of proposal. What an incredible dialogue!! Kudos to the writers. You guys know exactly what we want to hear & you gave it to us.
And Sona says, "Mr. Dixit, Kya mujhe hug karange, please." Her eyes were filled with tears. She wanted to be held. She needed that support to figure out what was happening & then tell him what she felt. She wanted to feel secure in his arms. Dev understood that it was hard for her; he'd been through that realization. He understood her. He opened his arms wide to give her what she wanted. And she ran into his arms. The moment he hugged her, he knew what her answer was. He was content & happy because Sona wanted him with the same passion he wanted her. There was this slight little tight squeeze in the end... it was like he wanted to fill up every inch of space between them. And they were finally one! Can't imagine what his reaction would be when he gets to know that all this while Sona was in love with him.
Phew, I wasn't able to breathe for some time. Frankly speaking, I don't remember much of what happened before the confession. Dev knew exactly what he wanted to tell her. He knows exactly what kind of person Sona is. Flowers, jewellery, cakes, chocolates are the regular ways to propose but not for Sona. She was unique. Sona always kept telling him to share things with someone. And he did exactly that! He wanted to share it with her & continue sharing it with her.
A shout out to the makers. What are you guys up to?? You've been giving us too many sleepless nights. Well, I shouldn't be complaining. What fantastic dialogues. The way they spun the whole confession was brilliant. There was a preparation period, where Dev was talking to himself, prepping himself up & him waiting for time to move. Then the explanation part, where he began to share all his memories with Sona, which he'd kept bottled up inside him for so long. He also declares that he love the new him & the reasons behind it. And finally the conclusion, which was the confession. What a beautiful approach! You guys staged a beautiful love confession in a matter of 10 mins. Mind blowing! I didn't feel like they were characters. Dev & Sona were so real to me. Dev, Dev, Dev... You turned out to be a complete romantic. You've turned 360 degrees little too fast but loving every bit of the new you. Shaheer you've stolen millions of heart with that confession. And you're definitely giving a ride to all the real men out here. You were exceptionally fantastic. Those expressions were worth million bucks. Phew!! What a ride this show been in the last two weeks. Please don't stop to amaze us. Well I'm still super high after watching yesterday's episode. Kinda very difficult to come down to normalcy. Anyways, can't wait to see what Sona has to say to him. Can't wait to see how amazingly Erica will play her part. This week is definitely going to be an emotional ride for all of us.
