Dwelling on the Details: Slipping into Oblivion

[Episode 86] June 13th, 2016

- "Dekh, agar tujhe kuch hua na, Shaan, toh apne aap ko khatam kar doonga main aur teri creation ko bhi! Tere bina kuch nahi, yaar! Kuch nahi!" These few words reveal Dev's fierce loyalty to Shaan and the profound depth of his friendship in a way that previous scenes haven't. Dev's dramatic declaration could simply be his way of trying to wake Shaan up...but I think it is heartfelt, coming from a moment of panic, in which emotion very nearly drowns out rationality. I say "very nearly" because Dev mentions that he would destroy Rajni if Shaan were to never wake up...If there's anyone among Shaan's family and friends who knows how important Rajni is to him, it is Dev. If Shaan were to die, god forbid, then Dev would probably have to take responsibility for Rajni's maintenance - and for the fact that she would still have to be handed over to Matthew, I suppose. I briefly wondered if this was Dev's way of saying that he'd rather destroy Rajni for Shaan's sake than see her reprogrammed and abused. The more I think about this, the more I wonder about Dev/Shaan's friendship and how each has affected the other. From what's been shown so far, I feel like Dev is far more demonstrative and dedicated towards this friendship than Shaan is...And that last line is interesting. Without Shaan, would Dev be directionless? I would really love to see Dev coming into his own, becoming more confident in himself and his abilities, so that he can step out of Shaan's shadow. I have a feeling that Dev's relationship with Shogata could help with that...But that's a topic for another day.

- "Bhagwaan ko bhakt ke kareeb laa rahi hoon!" Rajni is such a resourceful kid! I mean, resourceful robot! She's able to scan the Shiva linga to capture its image, and then she wastes no time in carving a lingam out of the rocky ledge nearby. When Shaan regains consciousness, one of the first things he sees is Rajni's Shiva linga, and he's stunned. "Unbelievable..." He staggers over to where Rajni is standing, her hand outstretched to take his own, and hugs her in their trademark fashion, holding her against his side. "Pyaar ki shakti hai, Papa." And they both nod. #HusbandWifeSync

- I love the rendition of the Shiva Tandav Stotram that is used here! It's unlike any that I've heard before, and I think the mellow, calm vibe it exudes fits the scene very well. The way Rajni watches Shaan doing the remaining rounds of the abhisheka, the way she smiles up at him when he looks down at her from atop the rocky ledge - aww! If I didn't know better, I'd say that she's proud of him! She certainly looks proud of her husband! Rajni is a blessing to this family. Shaan is lucky to have her...but of course, he made her himself, and she continues to make him proud!

- The next scene begins with Shogata's "OMG!" Great. In for another dose of Shogu Skepticism, are we? Yep. She sits there, filing her nails and rolling her eyes at how desperate Shaan (and Rajni) seem to get away for their honeymoon. To be honest, this girl has grown on me tremendously since her arrival. She's amusing, even though her bratty attitude can irk me at times. Props to Neha for sprinkling this character with a very unique charm that makes her endearing in spite of her haughtiness. That's quite a feat! I'm looking forward to seeing Shogata's character development as much as Dev's!

- Byomkesh Bakshi reference! Ahaha, I love these little Bengali things, most often brought up by Surili or Amrish in their brief banter moments. LOL at Surili's face while she's thinking, though. Pallavi Pradhan and her innumerable expressions. So amazing.

- "Oye, itni bhi kya jaldi hai, yaar? Apni haal toh dekh! Khada nahi ho sakta hai, honeymoon pe jaa ke -" Hahaha. Point. He has a very good point. "You know, Shaan. Hum tumhare Baba ke saath kabhi sehmat nahi hote...Lekin Amrish, congratulations, hum iss baar tumhare saath sehmat hai, Shaan, you should take rest!" Amrish's wide-eyed expression at Surili's adorably enthusiastic agreement, LOL. And Shaan's "What, Mom?! You betrayed me!" face, haha. This family is one of a kind.

- Shaan's reaction to Amrish's request for a promise. That discomfort in his eyes. He half-heartedly says, "OK, vaada" to his father, but it reminded me of a child who just says something without really meaning it. He has no choice but to go with the flow because he has no clue how to tell one truth without uncovering a dozen more secrets. It's a terrible position to be in, and it shows on his face. Shaan knows that this is one promise he won't be able to keep.

- Aside. Not going to lie, the first thing that came to mind when Shaan mentioned robots in China was Karan's interest in the topic, haha. Was that another moment of improv? Also, the lab is back! I would ask when and how this happened, but I'm too happy to see it back in operation, so I'll move on!

- "Kya love letter likh rahi ho?" Awww, Shaan! It's a throwaway comment, but he could've picked any other type of letter, no? Anyway, it's not a letter of any sort. It's a list of things Rajni is leaving behind for Shaan to take care of, with gifts for the family. The mood shift in this scene is great. Starts out fun and relaxed, but as soon as Rajni retracts her finger from the pad of paper she's writing on, it becomes more somber. The gifts that Rajni chose for each member of the family shows just how well she has come to know them in such a short amount of time. She has observed them for the past few months and has become familiar with their quirks - to the extent that she can give them unique gifts that will benefit them. These aren't superficial tokens of thanks, they are considerate gestures of good wishes from a girl to her family. I especially love the bit where Rajni gives Shaan the box of teabags meant for Surili, saying that if her mother-in-law remembers her when she's gone, then that green tea will come in handy. There's a fine line between comedy and tragedy, and this scene is poised right on point.

- Just when I thought the scene couldn't get any more bittersweet, Shaan stands to face Rajni. "Sab ke liye itna kuch..." He looks at her, hands gently on her shoulders. "Aur Shaan ke liye?" A slight shrug, a light quirk of the eyebrows. His casual demeanor belies the look in his eyes...Nothing for Shaan, Rajni? She has such an understanding of his living habits, no material object would be of any benefit to him. What he needs is a companion, someone to take care of him. "Woh insaan jisse aap door ho chuke ho...meri wajah se..." Shaan knows exactly who Rajni is talking about. He may be remembering their conversation about that person - Samaira - but it doesn't matter. Not right now.

- "Aap unse bahut pyaar karte ho." Rajni says this...and Shaan's gaze is on her face, unwavering. She mentions that name and he continues looking at her, silent, inscrutable...But there is a softness in his gaze as he smiles at her, so very gently, and reaches out to her again. "Par meri toh Rajni hai. Rajni hi mera khayal rakhti hai. Aur Rajni ki jagah toh koi nahi le sakta." This. This is everything. Shaan doesn't need another companion. He has her. His Rajni. She means everything to him. And he has to let her go.

- "I will miss you." "Main toh aapko miss bhi nahi kar sakti. Mujhme yeh feature hi nahi hai." The contrast in their tone of voice is perfect and so, so heartbreaking. I had feared this almost as soon as I realized I would be invested in this couple's fate for the long haul...I had expected this from the beginning, but I didn't think it would happen so soon. Hearing Rajni's catchphrase in this context...it hurts. Shaan smiles at her, tries to reply with a quip about how he wishes he could have installed that feature in her...but the very next second, that smile falls away and he looks at her with sad eyes as he bends down to wrap her in a hug. "I'm so proud of you, Rajni...I will miss you." He says those words with a quiet sincerity that made my heart ache. Bittersweet. There is no other word to describe this.

- I have to mention Rajni's Theme. This version of the instrumental theme is so incredibly beautiful! The piano prelude is soothing, building up steadily...I LOVE how the main melody begins right when Rajni mentions Samaira's name for the first time...and it continues as Shaan keeps gazing at Rajni. Just as Shaan says that no one can take Rajni's place in his life, the female vocals join in...and then when Rajni tells him in her characteristic way that she cannot feel and therefore cannot miss him, the strings begin a countermelody that builds to a crescendo. That crescendo reaches its peak as Shaan and Rajni stand there facing each other, in complete silence, just holding each other's gazes. The impact of that silence, coupled with the music - I can't describe the beauty of that moment in words.

[Episode 87] June 14th, 2016

- "Hum do...humara ek!" Awww! Even Surili reacts the same way when Shaan explains that Rajni was talking about family planning, in reference to her saying "Aate waqt sirf ek hi waapas aayega." Super-duper hit honeymoon? I wish it could be! One thing's for sure, the road trip is going to be fun! And I think Rajni looks super-duper cute in that hat with the flower on it! Also, I like the cut of her salwaar suit! Very cool!

- "Rajni! Meri behen! Mat jaa!" Dev is inconsolable, poor thing. He hugs Rajni and just doesn't want to let go. It's touching that Dev regards Rajni to be like any other human being, rather than just Shaan's robot. Dev used to be the one who kept reminding Shaan about Rajni's non-human qualities whenever Shaan would slip up and forget...but Dev really, truly does think of Rajni as his sister now. So when Amrish observes, "Inna toh tu bidaai ke waqt bhi nahi roya tha, bhai!" there's a truth to his statement that only Shaan, Dev, Rajni, and the audience knows. This is Rajni's real bidaai.

- Does anyone else find it sweet that Dev calls Amrish "Papaji" every now and then? I'm glad we're getting to see more of Dev with Amrish-Surili because so little is known about Dev's own family. Amrish and Surili probably don't want to consider themselves to be Dev's honorary parents, given their prior reactions to his behavior, but I really enjoy watching them interact and it does feel like he's their honorary son-in-law anyway, haha.

- "Hey! Paagal robot!" LOL, Rajni's a total diva, standing by the side of the road, trying to flag down a vehicle so that she and Shaan can hitchhike to wherever they're going! Those poses and those sunglasses cracked me up! "Gaadi mein bithaa lenge na, alag hi picture ban jaayegi!" Oh, man! LOL! And that's not all Shaan is worried about. "Topi kahan hai tumhari?" "Andar." Of all things, he's worried about her hat! But hey, I can understand why. I like that hat, too. It's pretty!

- Shaan and Rajni hit the road again. "Shaan! Seat belt!" Too cute, Rajni! Shaan's "Bye bye bye!" is even cuter! She's rubbing off on him more and more! "Bye bolo, Rajni!" Haha, he seems a bit surprised that she didn't automatically wave goodbye to the kind old lady who just gave them her jeep.

- "Shaan. Aapne Bauji se jhoot kyun bola?" How wonderful is it that these two are always talking to each other about their family? I like that Rajni brings up the potentially problematic strategy that Shaan has adopted regarding Rajni's departure. He's avoiding the truth because he doesn't know how to break it to the family without hurting them. "Iss tarah at least woh smile toh karte rahenge!" "Lekin kab tak? Jab aap akele waapas aayenge, tab?" This is a very good question. One that Shaan keeps avoiding. He tells her that this isn't easy for him, that it took him a lot of courage to even get this far down the road with her...He doesn't want to give her away, but he has to. And he doesn't want to think about the emotional ramifications just yet. Sigh. Rajni eventually agrees that they should spend their last journey happily while they still can create memories together. "Humein ek doosre ko haste haste vidaa karna chahiye. I promise you...yeh honeymoon aapko zindagi bhar yaad rahega!" Exactly what that means, I'm not sure...But knowing Rajni, it will definitely be a trip to remember.

- Aao Milo Chale. First, I love this song so much! Second, it's absolutely perfect for Shaan-Rajni on many levels. "Manzil se behtar lagne lage hai yeh raaste..." For Shaan, this journey is certainly one worth cherishing. He's dreading the destination because he'll come back alone, just like he used to be before Rajni filled that void in his life. Third, all those tiny moments throughout their jeep ride are so precious! Them taking turns driving the jeep, jamming to the beat of the music; Shaan wearing Rajni's hat while she lets her kurta fly in the breeze; Shaan perching on the outside of the jeep because he's just way too tall to fit comfortably inside the vehicle; Shaan squeezing Rajni's cheeks because she is just so adorable and who can resist, honestly? Rajni allowing Shaan to rest his head on her shoulder while he sleeps, and that little pat on the cheek she always does, aww...

- "Shaan." "Haan!" "Gaadi aage jaane ke bajaye peeche jaa rahi hai." "Aaargh!" "Koi baat nahi, Shaan. Main chala bhi loongi aur dhakka bhi maar loongi." "Ahh. Come. Please!" "Are you ready?" "Ready!" I totally lost it during this bit. Shaan tries and tries to push the jeep with both hands and tons of force but it just doesn't move where they want it to go. Rajni gets out, uses one hand and pushes the jeep along smoothly, minimal effort required! And during all this, the song is still playing. LOL!

- What is it with men and asking for directions? Sheesh, Shaan! In his mission to prove that he does indeed know the correct route, he mentions how he's been here before, with Samaira - and he suddenly shuts up, realizing what he just said. Rajni catches onto the name...and she doesn't shut up. "Samaira! Samaira!" She looks at Shaan out of the corner of her eye and gives him a knowing blink-blink-blink. "Arrey, kya Samaira Samaira! Yeh blink-blink kya kar rahi ho?!" She cuts him off by checking his heartbeat. Shaan removes her hand from his chest, trying to play it cool. "Ex-girlfriend! *laughs awkwardly* Must be joking! Paagal!" That change in his expression right after he says this - he's totally not cool about this. That's discomfort right there. But Rajni doesn't stop. She weaves a poetic description based on the first conversation she and Shaan had about his ex-girlfriend, as Shaan looks at her, nonplussed. Ridhima's graceful hand gestures made me think, "Kathak training?" Anyway, Rajni has to be the only wife in the universe who teases her husband about his ex-girlfriend and is totally chill about it. Those adorable shifty-eyed expressions make me laugh so much! She seems to be teasing him and encouraging him at the same time. Odd...It's because she's leaving him and doesn't want him to be alone, isn't it? Oh, Rajni...

- Second car to break down on the trip. "Dekha. Maine kaha. This car is pure junk!" Should've listened to your wife, Shaan. She, in particular, is always right. She also knows how to talk back to Shaan. "Useless robot!" "Bewakoof scientist." Haha, amazing! That bit where Shaan goes out among the trees and Rajni's like, "Humans! Kisi ki kabhi nahi sunte! Sarkar ki bhi nahi!" and then tells him to wash his hands before coming back to her - she throws him that water container and luckily for Shaan, he manages to catch it! She's fabulous!

- Shaan panics when he doesn't find Rajni in the jeep where he left her. "Rajni?! Hey! Rajni?! Rajni!" The musical interlude here is gorgeous. And Ridhima looks gorgeous! "Shaan!" Rajni calls out to him. "Haan?! Haan!" He turns to see her, finally, and she raises her arms, inviting him over. The Aahista Aahista sequence is quick but so very sweet! Their height difference is perfect, those smiles are adorable, and they look like a couple in love, carefree and basking in their moments alone, oblivious to their surroundings.

Meanwhile, at the Marriage Office...

- I don't care if Dev, Shogata, Amrish, and Surili all say that a Dev-Shogata marriage would be catastrophic. They are very obviously irritated by each other's presence, but there's a familiarity and odd comfort level between them all the same. Dev enthusiastically settles into a swivel chair, ready to get this marriage cancelled - and Shogu reaches forward, grabs his shirt, and yanks him up and out of the chair. He glares at her, and she points an admonishing finger at him. #TotallyMarried

- I just want to say that I absolutely adore Dev! He's such a lovable, enthusiastic, somewhat awkward, geeky guy with a heart of gold! I love the way Neel plays this character. Those incredible expressions and changes in tone are impressive to begin with...on top of that, making it all seem natural with a touch of comedic flair - not an easy thing to do! And there are also those glimpses of Dev's serious, rational side, every so often. Neel does all of this so, so well! Ah, and Neha! Her expressions and dialogue delivery are always on point! She's able to convey disdain, shock, misery, and (occasionally nowadays) happiness with a sophistication that has traces of Pallaviji's interpretation of Surili's demeanor, for sure...But Neha has made Shogata into a young woman who is not merely a clone of her mother by adding a fascinatingly endearing charm to the character. I know I've said this before, and I don't think I'll stop saying it. I am truly looking forward to seeing more layers to Shogata Kant (Bangdu) in the coming episodes! Oh, and one more thing...Neha's eyebrows are amazing!

- "Yeh ek mistake hai, isse rectify kijiye. Hum dono married nahi hai! Please! Warna Shogata ka future barbaad ho jaayega!" The all-important question..."Yeh Shogata kaun hai???" LOL! Dev speaks up, "Sir YEHI hai Shogata! Apna hi naam leti rehti hai! Sir, yeh sach keh rahi hai! Iska iss janam ka future kharaab ho jaayega! Lekin mera! Mera saaton janam ka future kharaab hoga!" And Shogu whirls to face him, wide-eyed. She hisses something at him - "Shame!" I think? - and then ends up engaging in a spat on the spot. "You shut up!" "You shut up!" Oh, but it doesn't end there. "Sir, yehi hai! Nakli chotiyaanwaali!" "What?! Tumne bhi wig lagaayi hai!" And Shogu pulls at Dev's hair, which prompts him to retaliate and pull at her complicated braid. Actual 5-year-olds, these two. And I was thinking, "Destined to be together for 7 lifetimes?"

-Jungli Billi and Bhukkad. They've known each other for practically their entire lives. I LOVE these snippets of a backstory that are being revealed! All of Shogu's embarrassing childhood secrets are coming out, one by one, thanks to Dev. "Tab se, jab se chotiyaan latkaake ghooma karti thi! Toote hue daant aur behti hui naak leke ghooma karti thi yeh!" Shogata fires right back at him. "Aur yeh bandar ghar mein half-pant pehen ke, humare ghar se free ke laddoo khaake jaata tha! Aur Shogata ki chocolates churaake le jaata tha! Shogata ki choti kheench ke jaata tha!" Her voice cracks when she says "half-pant" and I crack up every time I rewatch this bit. She is tooo cute! LOL at the parents' faces during all this - Surili nods along, corroborating the accounts, and Amrish just looks like he's 100% done with the bickering children behind him.

- Random thoughts that came to mind as I was watching this...So Dev has known Shogata since he was a kid, 5 years of an age difference between them...and no one knew anything about him? Was he always just like a stray puppy who came to their house for food, shelter, and friendship? Also, Surili saying that even if Dev-Shogata do agree to this marriage, she won't let it happen...Hmm...Potential issue in the future here?

- This judge man is amusing. "Bhai, mujhe toh yeh shaadi bilkul normal lag rahi hai!" Literally everyone else in the room is like, "What...?" Hah! "Yeh shaadi ki foundation toh ekdam SOLID hai!" He's probably the biggest Dev-Shogu shipper on the face of the earth right now, haha! I think he has a good point about the "quick fix" tendencies of the younger generation, though. Running away at the first sign of hardship in a relationship, without trying to resolve it, is easy enough. Working towards a lasting relationship takes effort from both sides. It's probably not easy, but the resulting bond might be stronger and more valuable in the long run.

- Special mention to Surili-Amrish and their usual cuteness. "Judge Saab...Judge Ji? Jiju?" Amrish elbows her lightly. "Judge Saab." "Ah! Thank you! Judge Saab!" LOL! And the bit where Surili accidentally hits the bell on the desk and apologizes! Aww, haha!

- "Jo couples sabse zyaada jhagadte hai, wohi aapas mein sabse zyaada pyaar karte hai!" Debatable? Shogata looks at Dev. Dev looks at Shogata. "No!" "No...!" I almost felt like there's a hint of a question in their tone, but obviously these guys are poised to refute anyone who suggests that they could like each other even a teeny tiny bit. I also thought they mimicked each other's tone...Dev seems to have a knack for doing that. Regardless of their actual feelings for each other, they're going to have to stay together, under one roof, for 6 months. As husband and wife. Shogata looks like her world is falling to pieces in front of her eyes. Dev looks like his worst nightmare is coming true and he knows he can't wake up.

- "Aap dono ko apni shaadi mubaarak ho! Good luck, Mr. and Mrs. Bangdu!" Shogata's face is priceless! "Bangdu...!" Dev probably wants to die right now. That miserable whimper that escapes Shogu's lips at the end! Poor baby! But I am totally looking forward to this! It's going to be fun and I'm most interested in seeing how these two will influence each other in small ways as they start spending time together in closed quarters.

[Episode 88] June 15th, 2016

- The driving directions in Shaan's memory drive him and Rajni into a mountain. Good job, Shaan. Haha, I love Rajni's expression as Shaan is standing on top of the jeep and looking up at the mountain. She's like, "Told you. Should've listened to me." Her suddenly going into sarcastic wife mode is hilarious! "Dekho, jaaneman! Hum Goa pahunch gaye! Chalo, honeymoon manaate hai! *pauses as Shaan looks down at her, frowning* Hum honey laana toh bhool hi gaye!" Shaan frowns even more. "Awww." LOL, the way Rajni returns to her default position after this! And Shaan's reaction! "Yeh sab TV ka bad influence hai." "Aap hamesha galti karte hai...Lekin kabhi sudharte nahi." That disapproving finger wag that Rajni does, haha. Shaan should have listened to Rajni earlier, but I also wondered for a moment whether Rajni simply stopped giving directions or if she gave him incorrect directions every so often. We're probably never going to know. Doesn't matter, since they have to backtrack 70 kilometers now. "70?!" Haha, I love Shaan's facepalm reactions so much! The fact that Rajni is becoming more outspoken, to the point of using sarcasm against Shaan, is both funny and fascinating. They used to engage in banter before, but this new side to their interactions makes them seem even more like a human married couple, with normal, everyday, married couple issues!

- The nice thing about Rajni, though, is that she ultimately comes around and moves on. She taunts Shaan for a little bit, but drops the issue in favor of more pressing matters, like how to get on the road again. It's sweet that she considers scaling the mountain with Shaan. "Sirf aapko lekar jaa sakti hoon. Let's go!" She provides the suggestion and immediately grabs his hand, and she probably would have whisked him away if he hadn't been quick enough to stop her. Going by road seems like the best option for them and their luggage, but the clean jungle air is not doing them any favors tonight. "Aapko kya ho gaya...Shaan?" Allergies, damn it. Rajni wants to find a doctor and call an ambulance for allergies?! Only Rajni would do this...because according to her data, if infections spread, then Shaan could die. Worst case scenario. She doesn't think about how, in the short term, rest and a bit of medicine is probably all that Shaan needs.

- Hotel Chillax, a place to chill and relax. And hopefully to let Shaan recuperate in peace. "Humara honeymoon hai!" Rajni announces to the hotel manager. He expresses surprise that they only want a room for one night, to which she innocently responds, "Toh phir kitne raaton ke liye hota hai honeymoon?" As long as you want, Rajni...Just take Shaan and go on a permanent holiday. Have fun! The "hum do, humara ek" is not going to happen, so I hope they do create some memories that Shaan can look back at fondly.

- English, Hindi, Hyderabadi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati - how many languages does Rajni know?! So impressive! "Aadhe ghante mein - Room 3-2-4. OK?" Aww, I love that little tap-tap-tap Shaan does on Rajni's shoulder there! "OK Saan!" Haha, Shaan's face when Rajni starts speaking to him in Gujarati! He has no idea how to respond other than with a clueless "...Yeah...Gujarati!" Shaan is totally me, by the way. What did she say?

- "Humre Saan toh aisa nahi hai!" Rajni immediately refutes the other ladies' claims that husbands will always leave their wives to fend for themselves when food and drink are readily available at a venue. I love the slight softness in Rajni's expression and voice as she speaks about her own husband. Aww.

- Chatting with Veena and Saroj leads to a few communication issues. Rajni's "ooh" aka her pati, is a scientist. Not a doctor. Scientist. And no, that does not always mean the same thing! Interesting that Rajni tells them that she and Shaan had a love marriage - and that she's very serious about doing things the "right" way in their relationship. She seems to have a systematic mental checklist in her head. They "met" in Shaan's lab, he commanded her to get married (well, he didn't literally command her, but she went along with the idea), they live in the same room...but there was no courtship period or proposal as such. Rajni hears Veena and Saroj's proposals and is bewildered. So was I. Who does that? Like, really. Who does that?! Don't. Just...don't! But Rajni probably thinks that this is the way things are done nowadays, so she decides to go ahead and be demonstrative by proposing to Shaan in a way that only she can. Why, Rajni? Why?!

Meanwhile at the Kant residence...

- Shogata is crying her heart out. Again. Because of the one and only Devendra Bangdu. Again. "Shogata...6 mahine...uss...uss bandar Bangdu ke saath kaise rahegi?!" As far as Shogata's interactions with her family members goes, Amrish trying to console his weeping daughter is one of the sweetest things I've seen so far. He keeps an arm around her shoulder, helps her drink water, and lets her cry and cry and cry some more. Shogata is honestly the cutest crier ever!

- "Oh, shut up!" Surili finally loses it. Too much noise pollution. Shogu falls silent, momentarily stunned, mouth agape as she stares at her mother. "Uh, no, baby, humne Maggie se kaha. You please continue." "Oh!" And as Shogu begins to cry again, Surili looks like she really doesn't want to be there. Too much noise pollution! "Shogata uss sadak chhaap Bangdu bandar ke sadak chhaap ghar mein nahi rahegi! No, no, no, no!" "Oh hello!" Dev comes stomping into their living room, right on cue. "Sadak chhaap ghar nahi hai mera!"

- It's so cute that Dev calls Surili "Saasuma" without any hesitation whatsoever! It just comes so naturally to him and he's grinning broadly at her...until he realizes that such a term is not welcome just yet. Oops. "M-m-m-mera matlab hai, galati-se-bani-hui-Saasuma! Aunty Ji!" Damage control. Does Dev always stammer when he gets nervous? He does a remarkably good job recovering from that blunder and within seconds, he's back to smiling again.

- Dev begins to describe where he lives and Shogata lets out a sorrowful "Nooo!" Dev tries to reassure her, speaking to her in English, which surprised me as much as the term of endearment he slips in there. "Why are you crying, baby? Your temporary husband is very famous! Very big man!" Baby. Temporary husband. Dev speaking in English, most likely because he's talking directly to Shogata? He's so cheerful, bless him! Dev is too precious! I was laughing the entire time Dev was talking to the Kants about his house and the train station and his luxurious and healthy lifestyle. The family's reactions are priceless, too. Amrish has a few facepalm moments, Surili and Maggie alternate between curious and disgusted expressions...and Shogata? Shogata looks absolutely mortified.

- "Nooo!" "Yes!" LOL, I love that Dev actually bothers to answer Shogu's horrified wail. He does so very enthusiastically, too. Such a pure heart this guy has. Dev is unassuming and I really like that about him - he is what he is, wears his heart on his sleeve for everyone to see, most of the time, but there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. He's someone who may seem like an emotional pushover, but when the going gets tough, he'll pull through for the sake of those he cares about. Shogata is harder to describe, but I sometimes get the impression that she has a childlike innocence, possibly even softness, that has been buried under layers of self-confidence and attitude that is supposedly sophisticated but can tend towards arrogance. We haven't seen too much of her personality beyond the superficial traits yet, but I am more than sufficiently intrigued by her already and can't wait to learn more about her.

- Dev has a flair for dramatics, that I know. But apparently Shogata does, too. She's just not as loud and animated as he is, at least not right now. "Mom, mujhe jail bhej do!" Shogu whirls to face her father. "Mujhe phaasi ki sazaa chadhaa do! But Shogata iss sadak chhaap ke ghar kabhi nahi jaayegi! Nooo!" She lets out an adorably sad whimper and Dev addresses Amrish next. "Uncle Ji, aapki yeh queen, maharani beti ko leke jaane ka mujhe shauk bhi nahi hai! Wahan le jaaoonga na, toh sab ki shaanti bhang ho jaayegi." As if there's much peace and quiet in a place like where Dev lives, LOL! Amrish looks offended on behalf of his child for a moment, but if he was going to speak up, he didn't need to. "You!!!" Shogata instantly tries to rise to her feet in order to retaliate, but Amrish stops her. Watching Amrish/Shogu in this scene makes me want to know about the bond that they share - in the past, I've felt like Shogu looks down on her father due to his background, but then there have been times where she turns to him for a shoulder to cry on, which he readily provides as a doting father.

- Is there a solution to this problem? Dev has one. He leaves the living room...and rushes back inside after a while, wheeling in two suitcases. "Ab 6 mahina main aap logon ke ghar mein rahoonga! Yeh hai solution!" Ahaha, Dev looks so cheerful about this...except he's not. Not really. He's stuck between a rock and a hard place, but he's being practical. Surili is dumbstruck and Shogata looks like she is on the verge of tears again. Her lip trembles and her voice nearly cracks as she moans, "He is not the solution! He is a problem!"

- Surili actually agrees with Dev's idea. It's a miracle! Not really, actually. It makes a lot of sense, so why not? As it is, Dev's always at their house anyway! Now he'll get a nice room and free food for a reason! Surili's trying to give her daughter a comfortable life, which she will not get at Dev's house, that's certain. It would be neat to see Shogata spending some time living with Dev in his house in the future, even if only for a little while. Who knows what the future holds for these two? Until then, Dev's going to be here. "Oh god! I can't take the stress anymore! Oh my god! Saamaan leke aa gaye tum?!? Oh god!" LOL, Surili's incredulous reaction and Dev's adorably nervous mumbling, "Autowaale ko paisa dena hai..." Awww, Dev!

- I have to confess, I liked Maggie in this episode. She's a bit slow on the uptake, but she means well for Shogata, I think, by trying to find the silver lining in this situation. Maybe Dev and Shogata are destined to be together, a jodi made by God, Maggie muses aloud. That only makes Shogu cry harder. Well, at least Maggie tried. She also extends a warm welcome to Dev, out of impulse, offering to get the aarti thaali and all...If Maggie ever ends up siding with Dev later on, to make him feel more like a part of the Kant parivaar, I'd be happy with that. It would be nice for him to have someone in his corner besides Shaan and Rajni. For now, though, one look at Shogu's face sends Maggie scampering away, but not before she tells the newly-married miya-biwi that they can sit and talk to each other in private.

- I love how Dev heads over to the couch where Shogata is sitting and basically plonks down next to her, about to put his arm around her shoulders, haha. "Biwi!" He draws out that word, as if he's been doing this for a while now. Instant repulsion. Shogu leaps up from her place on the couch, trying to distance herself from the man who looks way too comfortable in her living room already. "Did you just call me Biwi? Don't call me that." Quiet anger, suppressed rage...She gives him a final warning. "Apni limits mein raho." Dev isn't going to let Shogata have the final word. Never! He won't let her win this battle. And he has Rajni to help him through this ordeal. "Ek baar meri behen ko aa jaane do, phir bataata hoon -" He comes to an abrupt halt, mid-sentence, as it hits him like a ton of bricks...His little sister won't be coming back. He won't see Rajni again. And suddenly, this silly argument with Shogata doesn't matter anymore. The sadness that overtakes his features transforms him completely, and it is heartbreaking. This part of the scene in particular was very well done by both Neel and Neha. Neither Dev nor Shogata is the kind of person who will back out of a verbal duel - Shogata is so singularly focused on her own feelings, her own annoyance, that she doesn't register the change in Dev's demeanor at all. "Kuch nahi." He says this so quietly, like all the happiness in his world has just been snatched from him. "Kuch...kuch nahi karoonga." It's like a surrender. If Rajni were here...then they would have faced Shogata together. Rajni would have helped him somehow, like she always does. But she's not here...and she won't be coming back.

[Episode 89] June 16th, 2016

- Shantanu Kant cautiously opens the door to Room 324 and steps inside. Before he can take a step further, he trips on a metal object that clangs loudly as he tries to regain his footing. On the floor before him is a trail of miscellaneous parts...Rajni's parts. "Rajni? Rajni...!" As Shaan quietly moves through the room, following the trail of metal, he's visibly on edge, tense. What if something happened to Rajni while he was gone? All I could think about was how Rajni took the concept of leaving a trail of clothes behind on the way to the bedroom as inspiration for her demonstration of love...and she took it one step further. Shaan's eyes are drawn to an assortment of Rajni's parts on the bed, arranged in the shape of a heart, outlined by wires. Rajni's calm, collected voice calls out to him. "Welcome, Shaan." He is aghast. "Yeh sab kya hai?!"

- "Shaan. Humne shaadi toh kar li...lekin ek doosre ko propose nahi kiya. Issliye main aapko propose kar rahi hoon!" Rajni's naivete is on display again. She speaks with the innocence of a child-woman who knows nothing of the emotional impact her actions and words are having on her husband. She's concerned that they haven't been following the proper order of events in their relationship timeline...She also very aptly tells Shaan, "Aap propose karenge nahi...Issiliye main propose kar rahi hoon." She knows him. She knows that he won't take the initiative to express his feelings to her...so she takes it into her own hands by slitting her outer layer and partially disassembling herself. Shaan grits his teeth. There was absolutely no need for this. No need. "Tum PAAGAL ho gayi ho, kya?! Haan?!"

- "Rajni...tum...tum jaanti ho tum mere liye kya ho? Nahi jaanti, na?" He tosses the parts he is holding onto the bed, not caring where they land. His anger is simmering now, beneath the surface, slowly rising...Rajni can't sense this. She's playing coy, speaking in a silky smooth tone, like a wife expecting a declaration of love from her husband. "Aaj aap bataa dijiye...main aapke liye kya hoon?" Shaan is NOT in a good mood now. "You are a troublemaker! Musibat ho! Aafat ki pudiya ho mere liye! Yeh sab karne ki KYA zaroorat hai, yaar?!" Rajni tries explaining that a married couple expresses how much they love each other in such ways, and it's necessary to know how much they love one another. Shaan snaps. "Hum pati-patni nahi hai! Tum ek robot ho, main ek human hoon! Human aur robot pati-patni nahi hote! Aisa koi relationship nahi hai! Samjhi ke nahi?!" He berates her, emphasizing each and every word to clearly get his point across. They are not husband and wife. They are not compatible - a human and a robot cannot have such a relationship. Rajni notes that Shaan didn't answer her question - well, he did, but not in a way that satisfies her. Her face is downcast as she reassembles herself on Shaan's command.

- I was thinking about Shaan's perspective throughout this scene. He has slipped up in the past, forgetting that Rajni is a robot. Initially he used to be able to recover and remind himself of that fact rapidly. As time progressed, the line between "human" and "robot" seemed to blur for him, and he appeared to be growing more and more attached (and attracted) to Rajni, although he wouldn't admit it to himself for a million years. It's like seeing Rajni's robotic parts scattered throughout their room caused a switch to flip inside of Shaan. He receives an awakening. A rude awakening. His Rajni is a robot. She is made of metal and wires, not flesh and blood. She is not a human that he can love and live with until death pulls them apart. She can't even be his companion in life now...because in two days, she will be gone. He knows this. She knows this. And he can't deal with all of this. So he lashes out at her, the only sounding board he has.

- "No more feelings, no more attachment! Kyunki inse, na, Rajni, sirf takleef hoti hai! Aur humans ko hoti hai! Tumhe kuch nahi hota!" Shaan's words are harsh, but they are true. In two days, they'll be going their separate ways. All of the time Shaan put into creating Rajni, upgrading her, spending time with her...All of the memories will stay with him. But they won't stay with her. And even if they do, will they mean anything to her, like they do to him? Those thoughts must sting. The feelings Shaan has for Rajni may not be romantic in nature, but he is emotionally invested in her. There is more than one type of love, and I think he does love her, even though his feelings can't be labeled easily. And the heartbreaking fact of the matter is that she cannot love him back in the same way. The degree to which he is attached to her presence will make her absence hurt even more. As seen by his emotional outburst, it has already started to hurt now. When she leaves, it will leave him with pain more than anything else. Because he is only human.

- I've always felt that it's the little things that matter most when it comes to relationships. Showing someone affection through small gestures, sincere words, and genuine support is worth far, far more than grand promises and lavish gifts. Rajni, in little ways, constantly shows that she cares for Shaan. She takes off his shoes and socks so that he'll be more comfortable while he sleeps. She notices him shivering and fetches a comforter to put around him. She observes that he's still cold after that, so she uses her own heating feature to generate enough warmth for him. She also reflects on how her decision to propose to Shaan had the opposite effect of what she had intended...It was wrong of her to do that...because she had promised to make this trip a happy one. "Shaan ke saath mere aakhri do din bache hai. In do dinon mein, main Shaan ka poora khayaal rakhoongi." And she does.

- How gorgeous is that resort Shaan and Rajni are staying at for their honeymoon?! I want to go there! It's a new day, a much happier day, from the looks of it! I'm impressed, Rajni is impressed. "Wow. Shaan." "Yeah." Shaan strolls over to Rajni, takes one look at what she's looking at, and looks like he wants to run far, far away. "Swimming pool!" And I cracked up at that. Just the way she says it! A robot's enthusiasm...for something she should be staying miles away from, haha! She is SO adorable!

- Rajni is finding out more about Shaan as a result of the time they're spending together away from the family. She discovers that he doesn't know how to swim and is therefore afraid of water; she also finds out that he is afraid of heights. "Aapko aur kin kin cheezon se darr lagta hai, Shaan?" LOL, the way her voice suddenly jumps from low pitch to high pitch when she says his name! That abrupt change always makes me laugh, as does the fact that they're sitting on a bench together and when the camera tilts up, we see that Shaan is holding an umbrella to protect the two of them from the rain! "Sabse zyaada darr toh mujhe tumhari harkaton se lag raha hai! Pata nahi kab kya kar baith- baarish bhi tumne karwaayi hai, kya?" Shaan leaves the umbrella with Rajni, since she needs it more than he does, and runs off to their hotel room. Sitting alone under the umbrella, Rajni makes another resolution. "Main aapko koi nuksaan nahi pahuncha sakti. Lekin...unchaayi aur paani aapko nuksaan zaroor pahuncha sakte hai...jiske liye Rajni aapko prepare karegi. Limitless Rajni aa rahi hai, Shaan!" She's going to try and help Shaan overcome his fears, one by one, because she vowed to take care of him. I find it so touching that Rajni wants to help make Shaan into a stronger person before she leaves him forever. It also makes me sad...because Rajni appears to have everything that anyone could want in a life partner. The only limitation is that she is not human...

- Even on a honeymoon, Shaan and Rajni don't get a respite from the Kants at home. Ghyaan and Dhyaan call up their favorite sibling and bhabhi to thank Rajni for the gifts she gave everyone and to ask how things are going...And they also end up warning her about the danger that Shaan is in. "Khatra. Kaisa khatra?" I like the way Rajni's brow furrows as she listens to her brothers-in-law describe the other women - "babes" - who could steal Shaan away from her. As soon as she hangs up the phone, she speeds off to wherever Shaan is. To save him from those other women - women who Shaan is probably not even talking to since he's so stressed out right now...but who knows what will happen in the future? I'm curious to see if this turns out to be foreshadowing, since Samaira's name has been coming up a lot lately.

- "Mere peeche kyun aa rahi ho?!" "Aapko babes se khatra hai. Issiliye bachaane aa gayi." LOL, how weird does that sound?! Rajni and her matter-of-fact tone just makes this whole scenario even more hilarious to listen to! A disgruntled Shaan retorts, "Main bachaa sakta hoon apne aap ko har babe se!" I don't know how that argument would have ended if Dhyaan hadn't called out to his brother, but I'm sure Shaan would have become Pareshaan again! As it is, he's given an unpleasant surprise in the form of Dhyaan and Sharmila, who have turned up at the same resort and display the exact opposite reactions upon seeing Shaan and Rajni there. Poor Shaan! Dhyaan and Rajni, who have always gotten along like a house on fire, are delighted to see each other. Sharmila and Shaan...not so much. "What...the...Tu yahan kya kar raha hai?" Rajni takes it upon herself to answer her husband, whose blood pressure is most likely shooting higher and higher as they stand there, judging by the look on his face. Dhyaan and Rajni are already having too much fun. "Ghoomenge, phirenge, naachenge, gaayenge..." Rajni takes over from where her devar leaves off... "Ash karenge, aur kya? Hah!"

- Sharmila actually has a good idea, for once, wanting to give Shaan and Rajni some privacy during their honeymoon. Of course, Rajni pipes up and raises Shaan's stress level even more by proclaiming that she and her husband are not a normal couple. True. Ah, and that bit about them not needing any privacy...Well...given what the family already thinks about Shaan and his wife, I doubt they're thrown off by this comment of Rajni's too much. For them, it's still awkward to hear, though...and it's going to turn out to be awkward to watch, I bet! Shaan tries shutting Rajni up by squeezing her cheeks before she can say much more. He loves to poke at her face and I love how normal these things are to them. I think the "awesome mausam" just became a lot less awesome for Shaan. Poor guy.

- One final comment, going back to the Kants at home. The family obviously liked the gifts that Rajni left for them...The men, as expected, openly appreciated their gifts and were sweet enough to thank Rajni. The women, interestingly, happily accepted their gifts and acknowledged that whoever picked those things out knows them very well...until they found out that Rajni was the one behind it all. Two-faced or what? But hey, small changes. And at least Maggie took her gift and Kuhu's gift with her. That's a plus. Loved Amrish's musings about that odd feeling of a sort of farewell taking place there in the house, too. Among all the residents of the Kant household, Amrish's bond with Rajni is the most precious one by far. His conviction and faith in her is unparalleled. He has always been in Rajni's corner, supporting her, guiding her through the complicated aspects of human relationships, which are even more complicated when the humans in question are the Kants. His blessings and principles are the foundation of his home, and Rajni has become such an integral part of that foundation now...I can completely understand why Shaan was so afraid to let his father in on Rajni's secret. But regardless, if Rajni leaves and doesn't come back, Amrish will find out and he will be shattered. I can't bear to see that happen, especially after what he said in this scene. Oh, and also...where were Dev and Shogata? Did Dev get his huge sandwich? I think Shogata is going to need that cold pack very, very soon. Especially if she's anywhere near Dev.

[Episode 90] June 17th, 2016

- Shaan really tries his best to drive Dhyaan and Sharmila away - first by telling Sharmila that the resort is not up to her high standards, and then by revealing that there is a ghost roaming around the place. I might have rolled my eyes at Shaan for the ghost scare tactic, but that was nothing compared to my reaction to Sharmila's childishness. She's a grown woman who apparently settles for nothing less than the absolute best in terms of living luxuriously and doesn't like Indian food...and she believes in ghosts and is exceptionally good at throwing tantrums when things aren't going her way. Ohhh-kay, then. By the end of the episode, I was wondering, once again, how exactly Dhyaan and Sharmila got to know each other and how exactly they fell in love. They appear to be complete opposites in terms of personality, outlook, and temperament. Dhyaan is so awesome, though. I love how sharp he is! His sarcastic quips, eyebrow wagging, and awkward and/or exasperated faces are the absolute best!

- Shaan turns to Rajni, irked by her interference in his grand plans to get them some privacy, and throttles her. She doesn't bat an eyelid. She just responds to his sardonic remarks with her typical straight-faced honesty. "Aapne mujhe Rajni Kant banaaya hai. Aapko pata hona chahiye." That just serves to irritate Shaan more. He brandishes an admonishing finger at her, stabbing the air but keeping silent instead of responding with his usual, "Mujhe pata hai!" although he very well might have been saying it in his head at the moment. He speaks after a few seconds, his voice dangerously hushed. "Shaan is becoming Pareshaan again - and because of YOU, Rajni Kant!" I love how Shaan glares at Rajni and stalks away, all frustration and irritation and pent-up potential energy. I also love how Rajni's reaction is the exact opposite. She just watches Shaan walk off, regarding him silently, entirely relaxed, before she tilts her head in her characteristic way and shrugs her shoulders. These little contrasts are so fabulous!

- Dhyaan brings up a tidbit about Shaan's childhood - that Shaan has always been something of a loner by nature, ever since childhood. He prefers to take refuge in his lab rather than in his house...and that solitary nature of his goes way, way back to the early years of his life. Interesting. I'd love to learn more about the Kant siblings' years growing up - their interpersonal relationships, their hobbies, their likes and dislikes, their strengths and fears. And also...Dev. That man is such a mystery to me! This is honestly the first time I've ever been so curious about almost every single character in the ensemble cast of a TV show! Kudos to the story and screenplay and dialogue writers as well as the directors and actors for creating such unique and fascinating characters whose lives I genuinely want to learn more about! Everyone involved makes this show a great viewing experience!

- Rajni follows Shaan all the way back to their room, like an adorable, obedient puppy, and begins pacing behind him. At one point, Shaan whirls around to change direction, and Rajni walks right into him - in the middle of imitating his aggravated-hair-pulling-Pareshaan stance, LOL! He groans as they hit their heads...and she groans, too. There's a very human-like expression of pain on Rajni's face for a fleeting moment before the robotic demeanor covers it up again. It's all in the way Ridhima contorts her face, scrunches it up to express pain and then lets go, moving her neck to straighten up, like a well-oiled machine. So impressive!

- If Shaan didn't have a headache before, he probably has one now! "Yeh meri familywaale sab jagah kaise pahunch jaate, yaar? Haan? How?" LOL. I was instantly reminded of the incident in the market on Rajni's Field Test Day, when Shaan first referred to Murphy's Law. Good stuff. Glad to be hearing a sort of echo of that here! "Unke saamne honeymoon couple ki tarah behave karna padega, na, idiot!" "You're right! Honeymoon couple ki tarah acting karni padegi!" Rajni nods, blinks...and her entire face brightens up. I laughed out loud when I saw that change in expression. She looks entirely too happy about the prospect of acting like a human honeymoon couple, hahaha! But it gets better.

- "Baby!" Rajni launches out of her seat, calling out to her husband. And he responds automatically. "Haan?" I guess he realizes that this is Rajni speaking to him after that, because he follows up immediately with a more bewildered "Haan?!" as Rajni lunges for Shaan's shirt collar and clenches it, pulling herself close to him. "Shaanu baby! Main kitna darr gayi thi! Tumne mujhe akela chhod diya? Chalo na! Beach par jaate hai? Samundar ki thaaandi thandi leheron mein...dubki lagaate hai!" All the changes in expression, all the changes in tone! I love love love how Rajni's tone in this mode sounds most like Ridhima's normal speaking voice. It's also quite adorable that she keeps playing with Shaan's collar the entire time, pretending to pose with him for pictures on an imaginary beach, and all he does is just look at her like he's trying to figure out what's happening. Best thing, though? She called him "Baby" and he instinctively answered back. Shaanu baby! Sooo cute!

- "Wahan par sale chal raha hai?!" Rajni turns to Shaan, still holding onto her imaginary cell phone, chatting with her imaginary friend, Preeti. Most surprisingly hilarious moment so far - Shaan lets out a laugh and a half-nod...and he continues to play-act with her, standing by her side and grinning while she coyly says, "You know, na...main toh apne unke saath honeymoon par hoon...:Haan? OK, chal chal! Bye!" Shaan's not done acting yet. "Bye! Kya boli Preeti?" LOL, the way his voice shoots into a higher register for a few seconds! So much enthusiasm on both sides here! This scene made me wish that Rajni was a human woman. Can you blame me? She's so much fun! "Sale chal raha hai wahan p- " "Shut up!" Ah, and he's back to normal now! And so is she. Aaah, these two are so hilarious and Karan and Ridhima are so brilliant at these transitions! Always such a delight to watch them!

- Sarcastic Shaan is so great, hah. "Main fresh hoke aata hoon, tab tak tum apni Preeti se baat karo, OK?" "OK!" "Tell her I said 'Hi!'" Oh, the sass! I love it, haha. Shaan heads into the bathroom to freshen up. Even the bathroom is gorgeous! Shaan apparently loves the fragrances of these toiletries, so he happily takes all of them. Hotel toiletries do come in handy! Rajni has been talking to "Preeti" all this time about how they've planned their second honeymoon in Bali already. Amazing, this girl is! So eager for alone time with her Shaanu! I love how she's totally into this pretend-honeymoon thing! Ah, but she overhears Shaan asking for more toiletries from the hotel staff and concludes that he's stealing. She lets out a high-pitched "Shaan!" and she's back into her default mode. The tiniest of tone changes are kept track of in this show and it's great.

- "Aap kitne bade cheapo hai, Shaan." Cue disapproving robo-wife look. Shaan doesn't care at all. He just grins, unscrewing the cap of one of the tiny bottles. "Cheapo nahi hoon, mujhe bas mazaa aata hai!" Awww, his face! I just really love Karan's nonchalant smile in this bit! Oh, and that shirt. Shaan should wear more shirts like this - they look so good! Shaan is such a cutie, man. He holds out the bottle for Rajni to smell, then says, "Tumhe kya farak padta hai, tumhe kaunsa nahaana hai?" I don't know, something about the way he looks at her in this bit...almost makes me feel like there could be a glint in his eye. He's so chilled out, teasing her and all. I love it. I can totally see Shaan being slightly flirtatious and unassumingly charming with that body language, perhaps not now but at a later point in time. The vibes I got from this casual conversation were surprisingly strong - that's Karan's charm kicking in yet again! (It's probably also the shirt...*sigh*)

- "Aap jaise logon ke liye ek naam hota hai." Shaan touches his temple proudly. "Genius!" A beat. "Kleptomaniac." Ahahah, she's not wrong, though! A tug-of-war ensues for the toiletries, and a bottle ends up spilling onto the floor. "Mera favorite hai na woh!" Shaan proceeds to pick up the bottle but steps on it and falls flat on his back. Ouch. That was a spectacular fall! I've never seen a more natural, spontaneous-looking fall! Props to Karan for that! "Come here. Pick me up. Come here!" Rajni is able to pull Shaan into a sitting position before she herself is pulled down to the floor because of the slipperiness. She ends up on top of him. Shaan's face initially conveys surprise and maybe a bit of pain, too...But as he looks up at Rajni, his frown relaxes into a gentle smile. She looks down at him, batting her eyelashes, smiling sweetly, reaching up to caress his face and bop him on the nose. That makes him smile again. And I died. They're SO adorable!

- The next bit is great, too - the seamless change in mood when Shaan reaches up to touch Rajni's cheek and asks, "Rajni...tum kaise slip ho gayi? Tum ek robot ho." She doesn't miss a beat. "Aapne mujhe slip proof banaaya hi nahi." He rolls his eyes at her. "Issiliye main gir gayi. You cheapo!" "Drama queen." She flutters her eyelashes at him. The way they both say those names, with a bit of a punch in their voices. Hah, even their name-calling is cute!

- Shaan reclining on his back with Rajni lying on top of him, her chin propped up on her elbow, resting on his chest...Love. These two! It's like this is the most natural thing in the world, for them to lie down like this and engage in banter that combines Rajni's sweet straightforwardness and Shaan's dry wit, resulting in an exchange that borders on flirtatious before swerving back towards sarcasm. Ridhima and Karan deliver their lines with such ease, their expressions on point - it's during small, unexpected moments like this where their chemistry crackles and I end up marveling at the comfort level between them. This is one of my favorite moments from the entire episode - and that's saying something, because there are so many wonderful moments!

- Shaan-Rajni's Theme...and bubbles! I'm so happy that this version of the theme was used here! This scene is the cutest thing ever. Rajni's childlike sweetness can be seen in the joy she expresses at being able to blow bubbles into the air from her soap-covered hands. She is so precious! Even more childlike than Rajni is Shaan, which proved to be a pleasant surprise after what seems like a long time. He stares up at the bubbles floating above and around him for a while and then happily joins Rajni, playing with the bubbles like a little kid on a hot summer day! I can't remember another time, besides the pillow peek-a-boo game, when Shaan's playful side surfaced like this. It's so refreshing to see him let go and loosen up, leaving his worries behind to revel in small joys like this. Rajni allows him to do that, by throwing little surprises his way. Sometimes her plans to cheer him up work, sometimes they don't. The lovely thing about this particular moment is that it is unplanned...and so the fun-loving, boyish side of Shantanu Kant emerges, free to simply be. I also love how Rajni looks over at Shaan every so often, smiling at his excitement and blinking in a way that I can only describe as fond. No other word comes to mind! How sweet are Ridhima's expressions in this scene, though?! That little blink she does at the end of the scene is beyond adorable!

- "Pyaar jataane ke tareeke...Got it!" Method #1...Unexpected throwback to the Rishtey Ki Baat promo! I have to confess, I was not expecting this! Didn't see it coming at all! I find it hilarious that Shaan strides over to the trio, late, and begins to ask what's for dinner, casual as can be. He only manages to get a few syllables out before Rajni throws her arms around his neck and kisses him soundly...and she doesn't let go. They sway on the spot and she just tightens her arms around his neck, which I, again, was not expecting! She's a bold one, this Rajni Kant! I don't know if Shaan was trying to free himself or not, but he was definitely stunned and in desperate need of air! That was one hell of a kiss, Rajni! I wonder what else she found when she looked up pyaar jataane ke tareeke in her database, because she seemed more than okay with demonstrating Method #2 in public as well! Shaan's "Aaj ke liye bas! In fact, lifetime ke liye ho gaya!" LOL, I wonder how long it will take him to take those words back!

- Amrish arrives and brings his trademark wisdom with him. He also has a suitcase that has London-inspired patterns on it, Big Ben and double-decker buses and all. Haha, I love this man! He overhears Shaan yelling at Rajni as they're walking on the street - Shaan, you idiot, why are you yelling at her outside?! - and decides to speak to Rajni about it. Another Amrish/Rajni conversation that is pure gold and everything precious, including a beautiful background score. Rajni is perceptive and sees through Amrish's feeble attempts at small talk. Rajni's gentle reprimand regarding her Bauji's accidental eavesdropping is very sweet. Amrish blows off a bit of steam by venting about his son's behavior...and then he tells Rajni something important. "Woh jitna samajhdaar banta hai na, woh itna samajhdaar haiga nahi woh banda!" Shaan may be a genius, with exceptional intelligence and skills...but when it comes to emotions and relationships and the world at large, Shaan is still inexperienced, unpolished, a kid...This is all true. Very much so.

- But as Amrish extols Rajni's virtues and praises her, requesting her to make Shaan into someone like her...I can't help but think about the irony of what Amrish is saying. Amrish can't imagine how instrumental his son, Shaan, the "bewakoof scientist," has been in shaping Rajni into who she is now. And she has already been rubbing off on him as well, changing him from the inside out in little ways. Now Rajni is actively going to try making Shaan into a "perfect" person, by helping him conquer his fears. She takes responsibility for him...just like he does for her. Amrish's explanation of the underlying reasons for newlyweds to spend their time on a honeymoon is significant, too. Shaan and Rajni are truly getting to know each other as individuals now, although, in a way, they already complete each other. They're linked together as creator and creation, a functional unit. This trip is bringing out a new aspect of their multifaceted relationship and I expect that we will see more over the course of the rest of their honeymoon.

- Bonus! Dev Bangdu and his bag of rice! The guy is stronger than he looks, that I will say in his favor! He brings in a huge bag of chawal from god-knows-where and carries it back and forth across the Kants' living room to the kitchen multiple times. And in the middle of all this, Maggie Bhabhi attempts to trick Dev into doing heavy-lifting for her...but she ends up getting outsmarted herself! Hah, Dev is definitely not an idiot! And he's not a pushover, either, that's for sure! At least, maybe not literally...LOL. Shogata is still trying to reconcile with Matthew?! God, Shogu! He. Doesn't. Care. *weary sigh* I'm curious - did she love him or did she love the idea of being with him? Thankfully, Shogata trips over Dev's bag, sending rice spilling everywhere...She tumbles forward and Dev reaches out to break her fall. He keeps supporting her as she expresses disbelief at Maggie's exclamation - "Shogata ne Dev ke saath griha pravesh kar liya!" - and he doesn't let go until Shogata demands it.

- "And you, Bhukkad Bangdu! Chhodo mujhe!" "OK!" Dev cheerfully complies, letting Shogu fall to the floor with a thud. Ouch. That's the second painful fall today. "I need ot have a shower!" "Agar yeh situation pahad pe hoti, na, toh main tumhe pakadta hi nahi!" "Oh, just shut up!" LOL, I love how Dev never spares an opportunity to mimic Shogata's mannerisms. "You idiot! Mera matlab literal nahi tha!" Shogu glares at Dev, who just tosses his head back and fixes her with an answering glare, LOL. Best. I also love Shogata's new nickname for Dev. Bhukkad Bangdu. It's cute and it suits him! And the fact remains that Dev totally could have let Shogu fall in the first place...Just saying.

- "And Maggie Bhabhi! What is this griha pravesh nonsense?!" "Arrey! Dekho na! Saari vidhiyaan apne aap ho rahe hai!" True. If Maggie keeps this up, I think I'm going to enjoy seeing her running commentary on the cat-and-mouse games in the Kant-Bangdu Kissa! Is Dev rubbing off on Shogata, or vice versa, or do they both just like saying similar things in different languages? Dev kept mentioning he'd commit suicide if he ended up with Shogata forever...and now she's basically saying the same thing. Adore Shogata's jumpsuit and Neha's expressions in this bit, by the way! Oh, and her final "Ouch!" is too cute! Really not a good day for Shaan and Shogu, is it?

THIS🤣 Shaan admitting jaana tha and Rajni really turns into wife mode: Right means u're right on saying am right 😆
'Dekho Jaanemun.. hum Goa pahaunch gayye' The tone Rajni uses here😆 Such a tease. It's a breather to see Rajni turn into a typical wife once and then. I Tend to forget she is a robot before she changes back into her normal demeanor Ridhima's shifts in stance and voice modulations uff. The scenes gets carved in my memory

"aap hamesha.. galti karte hain, lekin kabhi sudharte nahin" What was that, a warning😆' Is that true though?😲

Shaan is allergic to fresh air as he is used to closed space and AC 😳This is sad, lol we are used to artificial comfort, so much that real relaxation is now an allergy? woah. Here I turn into a mess when I sneeze and Karan made sneezing look cute. 🤣 His hair partition was distracting me in this scene.

"Are ko rakhe Padhe" I SO love it when Rajni takes control n does not pay heed to shaan's words. Wise decision 😃

Shaan manages to sleep in a moving Jeep on Rajni's shoulders here, so peacefully. I was awwing at that 😆

"Kitne raaton ke liye hota hai" I had actually choked on my tea at that time🤣 Rajni's innocent queries are sometimes so deep and sometimes hilarious. 😆 Her innocence is what makes me fall for her though😳

I knooowww, every time I think that Ridhima nade me admire her to a new level, she proves me wrong by setting another standard of her talent.. This lady👏

She said don't drink too much, you know it's our honeymoon na🤣

- "Humre Saan toh aisa nahi hai!" Rajni immediately refutes the other ladies' claims that husbands will always leave their wives to fend for themselves when food and drink are readily available at a venue. I love the slight softness in Rajni's expression and voice as she speaks about her own husband. Aww.

"Humre Saan aise nahi hain" Oho Rajni, knows hubby dearest very well it seems😆

Why, Rajni? Why?!

@Bold: This was me
Khoon se likha and accept kar li. WTH 😲 Yeh kaisa proposal idea hain. These people are nuts. I'd freak out, honestly😳

Rajni cuts her wrist, and I was: 😲 WHAT JUST HAPPENED. And then she makes heart from her body parts. People Express Love in extremely bizarre ways, but to this extent?😕

I keep saying this, Neha makes crying classy

For a first Surili unknowingly shouts, Shogu poor thing was shocked 😆And the spoilt kid's mommy is like plz continue😆

Shogu: "No no no nooo" and Mr Bangdu appears 😃

Wahan le jaaoonga na, toh sab ki shaanti bhang ho jaayegi." Amrish looks offended on behalf of his child for a moment, but if he was going to speak up, he didn't need to.

I was so lost with this different type of scene between Dev and Shogota. Lighted up my screen now. Dev planned he would stay there, already. He made up those statement about his place or what, he brought his suitcases😆 Loving these two😛

Neither Dev nor Shogata are the kind of people who back out of a verbal duel with each other - Shogata is so singularly focused on her own feelings, her own annoyance, that she doesn't register the change in Dev's demeanor at all.

I wonder if I read too much into it but Dev saying he is Abhimanyu and Kants Kaurav, signifies that woh iss chakravyu main phass gaya 😆

Meri behen ko ane do. Aww Dev, the moment he realise Rajni won't be back anymore😭 Dev with these expressions changed the entire mood😭

And I absolutely loved karan in thisu scene his child like innocence at bursting bubbles and amazement! We rarely get to see this playful shaan and Last we saw that as u said was pillow scene!
Shaan throwing dil khush kar dita wala kiss to Rajni
