Anil is such a wannabe actually his whole family is.He wouldn't have said such things had Sonam not gotten rejected.Why did he let her audition then? 😆😆 Sour grapes

Add one more, guess who did I see in the 2nd season of wayward pines on fox, nimrit kaur, looks like she has a meaty role in this one and she looked good too

So if a successful Indian star becomes and even more successful global star that's not considered success for him?

I don't know what he meant by that so I can only presume that he meant that success would be reached if and only if an actor of Indian origin manage to become a Hollywood star and is only aknowledged as such.

Like Will Smith who used to describe the plot of his movies with "it's the story of a guy..."

Will Smith is american but from a minority and managed to become a super star like Tom Cruise. Also Keanu Reeves and Will Smith have "switched" Men In Black and Matrix ; my point being that Will Smith was cast as a guy and not as a Black Guy.

Then again I don't know what Anil got out of being part of MI4 financially but if he negociated well the outcome coud have been more interesting than what meet the eye.

Some Asian (Chinese, Korean) stars are part of big budgeted Hollywood movies because if they get shares of what the movie made in their country/region. Because they are stars people flock to theaters to see them. Thus their doing extensive promotion back home.

Also, being part of MI4 may have simply have his fee shot up (movies, endorsements) and have him become more in demand.

Sonam made that appearence in Hymne for the Week End music video as a fan... and let's not forget that in Hollywood, Chris Martin is as good as royalty (his best friend is Jay Z, his ex-wife Gwyneth). It's important to have connections everywhere and if one-day work can ensure that she meet the right people or simply fullfill her dream ; why not?

Anil may advise his daughter but sadly he doesn't have a say in the choices she makes. Maybe her career would have been different otherwise...
