Kalyug and gangster are a million times better than the stupid A2 and EV! I still don't get how these two even worked!

I loved Gangster. Period
Its a simply awesome movie..The story was amazing...Every twist and turns were well paced..The acting by all three Shiney, Kangy and Emran were more than perfect. and the crowing glory were the marvelous songs. Yes. agree with ImagineMe (once though 😆) its a underrated classic. Basu's best till date.

Kalyug - very socially relevant story. Well directed, well acted, Again the songs were great too. A bit lower than Gangster but none the less it was very enjoyable movie.

Aashiquie and Ek Villain - have great songs but movies are not cup of my tea. I dont judge them but ...

You can't compare EV n A2 with Gangster or Kalyug in terms of cinematic quality.

I watched Ganster/Kalyug when I was really young but I still remember and rewatch the films not only because of the music. The films had stories and characters.

On the other hand I could not sit through A2 despite loving the music to death and ARK's pretty face. 😆

EV just didn't interest me at all.

Yep, they were pretty much available till 2006/07. On a decline, but still available. Gradually though the music shops lost all the leftover interest in selling them, so I had no option but to stop buying them.

I made this topic, coz I was wondering if it's the nostalgia factor or that the former lot were actually superior. At the end of the day, even the latter two are huge hits and have been loved by many. So yeah, thought comparison would be a good idea.

@All : Okay, since these two are almost unanimously being appreciated what about movies like Awaarapan? A bit cheesy than Gangster and Kalyug but even that has a similar tone. And I personally liked it. 😆

Kalyug/Gangster apart from their music had stories & characters. It could hold your interest beyond songs.

A2 was still better than EV. I was still interested till interval. Though nothing close to above 2.

I don't know what EV was. So stupid n dumb movie. Most of it didn't make sense to me. And Shraddha's acting & Just one angst-y expressions of Sid throughout the movie didn't help either.
