Meaningful relationships are worth more than hundred-dollar trees, and they deserve all the time, effort, and energy they need to become strong and beautiful. Then once the roots are well established, such relationships can continue to grow even under difficult circumstances. Trust and understanding will nurture the relationship, and eventually, the flowers of love will blossom and bear sweet fruit.

Meaningful love never happens overnight right? While some people might fall in love at first sight, the sort of love that takes its time to develop is the one I prefer. The garden scene for me was sending out a message about the need to nurture love for it to blossom. It was also symbolic in that we saw a Sonakshi who was planting seeds in the garden, just like she has been spreading her seeds of kindness and love in Dev's life. Only she hasn't realised that the flowers have started to bloom and he has finally picked up the fragrance of the flowers and fallen in love. Sona's work in making Dev bloom and establish the roots of their friendship are there to see. Her friendship with Dev is now blossoming into love.
As Sona explained to Ishwari that she is unwell and won't be able to come to work, I really liked this one dialogue written by the writers: 'Mera hi bad luck hai ki main waha nahi ho sakti.' That line to me, was Sona cursing her destiny for not being in Natasha's place to be Dev's fiancee. Despite all her hurt, she wishes Dev the best of luck and happiness. And just like any other person going though a stressful and sad time, Sona turns to gardening as her therapy. Even though she cried herself to sleep, she somehow manages to compose herself again, jump into other things to keep herself occupied and soldier on! How does she do it?! And Dev at the darn door again asking about her health is the last thing she needs! It's so natural for Dev to touch her but for Sona, his touch is strictly prohibited. Rightly so! With what right does Dev feel he can touch Sona whenever he wants? He shouldn't be getting too touchy feely anway - he is about to get engaged! I am glad Sona moved his hand away. Taking care of her ever since the accident is now a habit of his. And I love Sona's slip ups, that 'touch nahi karte' line reminded me of the biceps line! š What I really like about Sona is that she cannot help but keep on inviting him into her world no matter how hard she tries to escape from him. She can't possibly let him stand at the door and just go. And when she looks in the mirror and calls her self 'sadak chap tapodi!' This girl! š These two firing witty replies to each other is gold! I don't think you can get a better matched pair anywhere else on television. Why Dev cannot sense that he at his most comfortable with this girl is beyond me..
And their conversation about how different plants have different requirements and how one should take care of a plant with the utmost love was the perfect way for Dev to probe Sona on what love is. I have to give it to the writers who time and time again continue to surprise us with their ideas. I don't think there could have been a perfect scene to convey such a beautiful concept of the growing love between Devakshi. I also don't think there could have been a more magical way of showing Dev being mesmerised by Sona for the first time. Not hot sarees or rain scenes. Just the simple act of throwing water on her face was enough for him to be captivated by her beauty. There was the romantic 90s period I ended up going into. Being a massive movies fan, the videos for Hosh Walon Ko Khabar Kya' and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh' immediately came to mind. I liked that the writers were inspired by small, cute things like a girl drinking water from a fountain or just washing her face with water. There's a purity to it which had Dev spellbound and for one am glad that a messy Sona tending to her plants resulted in this very special moment for us fans š
And praise once again to the team for springing another pleasant surprise where Dev finally calls Sonakshi by her name. And Sona is astonished to find him call her by her name, just like she dreamed of him whispering I love you Sonakshi.' And looking up, she can manage a 'huh?' šIt's a total role reversal we get to see! For the past few weeks, we've seen Sona unable to take her eyes off Dev and mumble things like 'mera dhyan aap mein hai.' Now it's Dev's turn and it is a treat to the eyes! I get this feeling that Dev is now trying to end that professional tie between them and progress into a proper friendship where formalities are no longer needed. That can only happen when Mr Dixit and Dr Bose is wiped away. I think this is progress from Dev's side! I loved this talk of feelings as well. The whole build up by Dev was an attempt to make it casual and light hearted, but eventually both turn away from each, alone in their own world, unaware of what they feel for each other. Two tubelights who need to sort themselves out!
When Dev realises he is late for his meeting (tut tut)š and Sona insists on cleaning his blazer, it reminded me of the episode where Dev wakes up late and she persuades him to eat breakfast. Sona is that person in Dev's life who makes him step back, rethink, recharge and progress again. She is a calming influence in his chaotic work life. Again, I see them as a husband and wife duo as she takes care of his belongings and irons his blazer away. I really liked the way in which she caressed his blazer, taking advantage of a moment which she might not experience. And Sona is analogous to a gardener as I wrote earlier on - planting the seeds of her love in Dev's life. What she doesn't realise is how everything is coming to fruition. Her ability to let Dev in to her childhood and discuss her dreams and desires to travel when he takes an interest in her globe, are signs of the effect she has started to have on him. Now it Dev's turn to nurture this relationship and put the work in for their love to well and truly blossom.
As for Ishwari ji picking up on Dev's out of character behaviour of being late for a meeting... well. If that hasn't got alarm bells ringing, I don't know what will. I think we're going to find a very cheesed off Ishwari when she discovers Dev and Sona are in love with each other. When everything adds up and Radha Rani adds fuel to the fire... :/
