Shahid Kapoor Reacts To Kangana Ranaut's "There Are Three Heroes In Rangoon" Comment
We just can't get enough of Shahid! So we told you about Shahid favorite tattoo is Udta Punjab, his views on Tanmay Bhat's Spoof video and how he got comfortable working with Kareena and Saif on-screen.
Now when we were talking about his upcoming film with Saif Ali Khan, Rangoon which is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj and is scheduled to release in January 2017. Taking this conversation further we asked him a few questions about the film and its cast.
When we asked him that Kangana Ranaut has said earlier that "there are not two but three heroes in Rangoon", Shahid said, "Why did she say three heroes? Why she didn't say, three heroines? I am okay being called a heroine." He further added, "To me, there are three protagonists in the film, whether it is heroes or heroines, it is just a matter of gender to me." We must say, very well said Shahid!
In the further conversation, the question was raised that if "Rangoon" is a remake of the classic film, Casa Blanca (1942). Shahid just being his funny self said, "If we were supposed to buy the rights of Casa Blanca, we have to sell our underwear also. That movie is an epic and it should remain untouched."
iKarmik says, we feel that Rangoon will have glimpses of old classic film of 1964, Sangam which was further made in Hollywood as Pearl Harbor in 2001, which was based on the Indian National Army lead by Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, which was huge mark in the chapter of the Indian history. As far as the "Hero" comment by Kangana is concerned, we feel that unless women won't start referring themselves as heroes, there will be no gender- equality in Bollywood.
