Strictly speaking about the role of men regardless of the track, Indian TV has a crap place for men for the most part

They can be...

Jerks to be changed by FL
Doormats to be run over by the FL
Romancing items to romance and praise the FL

But in every major show - especially SP, the ML needs a woman to make him a better father, son, etc.

The very nature of soaps has an inherent bias against men bc by showing crap men they show mahan, near perfect, self-sacrificing women. So it pseduo-empowers (aka is regressive) about women at the expense of any integrity men.

Here whether it is to elevate the FL, Female vamp, or whomever...what it does is shift the emotional power to the battle and struggles of the women bc men are show as unable to handle situations.

So that's why this is shown & had made YHM #1 bc they did it much more obviously this time but this dynamic of men and women has played out since Sautan Sagas.

Even here people are watching to see jerk Raman suffer and learn his lesson. Thanks to the lines they give him, all of his legitimate emotions go to a largely unempathetic audience

It's people watching for IshRa who are left hanging bc they will NEVER show IshRa equally contributing to their relationship as Ishita will be percieved as ALWAYS doing more for Raman

So this dynamic is no where new to soaps - it's just harsher than seen in other soaps bc they are purposely withholding his full POV and decided to go OTT with the dialogs to where "he doesn't matter" to viewers

And everyone felt her pain
Just because she was crying

But raman ka kya
Adi ne ishita ki khatir use jail pahuncha diya
Pihu jiske sahare wo 7 saal se jee raha h
Us pihu ko usse chenne ki baat ki gayi
Kya use takleef nahi hoti
Kya uska dil nahi tadapta

I don't know kyu humein sirf maa ka dard najar aata h
Kyu hum pita ki takleef ko andekha kar dete h

Ishita and raman dono ke dilo mein dard h
Bas use dikhane ka tareeka alag h
Ishita use rokar nikalti h
Kyunki wo apna dard baant sakti h
Mani bala apni sisters ke saath

But raman ne aaj tak sirf ishita ke saath apna dard banta h
And today he has none
According to him ishita betrayed him
Jo ki kahi na kahi sahi bhi h
Ishita was alive
But wo sabse dur rahi
Usne itna bada jhooth bola
Wo apni 1 din ki bacchi ko chod kar gayi
And raman is living in this pain
Wo apna dard rokar nahi nikalta
Gusse mein nikalta h

To sabko lagta h ki wo janwar h
Ishita ko deserve nahi karta

But reality is both have same pain
Jaise ishita ko takleef hoti h raman and shagun ko dekhkar
Waise hi raman ko takleef hoti h mani and ishita ko dekhkar
Jaise ishita ko dard hota h jab pihu uski jagah shagun and raman ko chunti h
Waise hi raman ko dard hota h jab adi ishita ke liye use nuksaan pahunchata h

Fark sirf itna h ishita ke paas Rone ke liye kandha h raman ke pass nahi h

Totally agree with you
Nice post
both are in pain but For Showing ishita's pain they Are making raman villian but I can see his pain .
I can see Pain Of both of them .
As always just for gaining sympathy for ishita , For ishimaa they sidelined the feelings of a father .
I don't know When will they give raman pov bcoz this is much needed now .

Hi Aani,

I disagree with your point.

I don't have an ounce of pity on Raman. Raman pain does not affect me because for the sole reason he called her baanj.

I don't care for other words as couples usually in a fight say you are unlucky, bad omen, manhoos what not so I would have taken that it was his anger and hurt but calling her baanj which she has no control over and which is her biggest weakness is so cruel and inhumane.

so for me at least when you make use of a person disability( no matter it is through physical appearance or like infertile) to bring them down then you cease to exist as a human being for me.

it's SP. Sass-bahu slot. Where Bahu has to be a victor. It was never meant to be about IshRa.
Raman has to be a jerk, A-hole to sell "dukh-bhari Ishita" ..the one every woman will stand by because of the abuses he furled..they keep him safeguard a bit by giving some round-about pain which they never touch upon and to top it off..they need a villain aka Shagun who Ishita can defeat and save her kids, husband and ghar. Repeat.Rinse.

This is why Shagun never goes away. This is why Raman never gets a plot that evolves him. This is why the show is number 1 because they see a woman degraded by her husband, trumping over the evil , saving family, house.Hence, trps. And goes for years.

This is not Beauty and Beast, nope, it's about Ishita, the Good Wife, the Good Mother. Eventually all debates come to how Ishita is superior to Shagun, how she is the best mom..that sells, that works for everyone. Mission Accomplished.

Agreed. CV put Raman in villian role completely now specially by giving him worst dialogue like " banj " .
I am having problem with dialogue writer of YHM since YHM 1.0 -cheap dialogue after Ishita , mihika molestation .

I don't know this Raman Kumar Bhalla and this IShita as well .
For me Raavan Kumar Bhalla was , is , will always be my favourite character .

We should start teaching sons to respect to respect women!

Honor Girl Children as your mother is also someone's daughter, someone's wife, someone's mother, someone's DIL, MIL!

If CVs followed this theme in their serial, they would probably have better TRP's right now!

YHM is going going downhill in that concept, that's just my opinion.

I mean with the demeaning and classifying a mother through the fact whether she can or cannot bear a child is just too extreme!

When YHM started I was thinking, during the episode where Ishita requests to adopt a child of her own, I believe the dialogue CVs used was "We are sorry, you cannot adopt a child from our association because you are not married" or something like that. I was thinking "In which law book does it state that a person cannot adopt a child if they are not married?"

I am still wondering that. Anyone know?

I haven't come across any law book where it says that statement yet!
I am not taking law but am just curious where these dialogues and stereotypes are coming from.

Really disappointed with Raman at this point! I mean first he divorced Shagun and married Ishita, and now he is marrying Shagun again and hurting Ishita just because of his ego! If Raman was going to marry Shagun again anyway, then why did he marry Ishita in the first place ruining her life!
the guy is acting Bipolar or has Split-Personality Disorder topped off with anger management problems!

this guy really needs to pick one wife to stick to for the rest of his life because at this rate Raman will probably have more divorces than weddings!

Sorry for such a long monologue, I am just trying trying to find out what this guy is thinking, and am not succeeding at all! Can't see Raman's logic in this track at all!

On a last note I would like to thank my mom because if wasn't for her, I would not be in this world!

I salute all of the mothers around the world!

CV's have big time succeeded in portraying the ML as the villainous beast, they are so TRP hungry and egoistic that they forgot what was this show about. For me YHM has become a complete masala production. I curse myself for getting so attached to the characters and actors that its hard to ignore. But really bhaad am jaoo CV's , I never used curse words for CV's before but i feel that they money minded people and have no creative sense left in them . Itnay ugly dialogues given to Raman that really it hurts to hear them, and KP make it more hateful with his intense acting that one really want to slap the idiot. I agree with charminggene and other members who pointed out that to make the FL as the most sacrificing mother , daughter , wife , ever in the world. The only difference is YHM has got the cream of the TV industry ( minus some side characters and 2 main ones too, both dadies fail to act or show right kind of emotions when needed the most, I would give the young actors more points then them)
Anyways , this would go on and on and on for a while, and probably we would be saying same things again and agin...
