I haven't opened any thread in this forum but today i cldnt hold myself back.. So the reason for opening this thread is to know who's story it is?? I read a self proclaimed creative saying its a story of Raman and people around him in one of the threads recently and that really disturbed a viewer in me as i always perceived this to be a story of two broken souls healing each other, a story abt second chances in life where both of them are equally important..
They say the show is based on the book custody and i have read that book and trust me though the plot is same they have twisted it a lot to fit the daily soap requirements but still the characters are somewhere close to the ones depicted in the book..the book does revolve around raman and his family and kids and obviously shagun but it also describes ishita's character in much more detail right from her both the families and husband, her struggle to get pregnant and finally walking out of the marriage, the struggle post her divorce to lead dignified life and finally raman and ruhi's entry in her life.. On the contrary shagun's character is described only to establish raman's character well but ishita is definitely not just the person in raman's life she is much more than that..she has her own identity..the book addresses all her insecurities beautifully right from feeling undesirable to the insecurities abt ruhi which make her behave weirdly and little selfish during the custody battle; even her indifference towards adi once she knows he doesn't love her..ishita in custody is much more relatable than the ishita we see in yhm...
I always perceived this show to be abt both raman and ishita so i always wished for cvs to equally address her insecurities but i was baffled when i read the creatives seeing this story in a very different light as only Raman's and people in his life which it clearly is not for me atleast..and i m very much disappointed to have signed up for it and feel all this while i have been expecting something which they were never thought of addressing since the beginning...
I would love to know y you guys signed up for this show and did any of you thought this story to be only Raman's??
