OPN is not only guilty of ignoring Geeta Dutt,he is the one who sugguested to Ashaji that she imitate Geeta Dut's style in the initial stages of her career.In order to differentiate Ashaji's style of singing from lataji(who was already well established when Ashaji entered the industry),he suggusted she use Geeta Dutt's style of singing ...It was only later that Ashaji evolved her own inimitable style

To many talents where suppressed in India, I will just add that Runa Lila was also a big threat for some in India her access was limited or stopped in Indian Musical Industry for a long time. Runa moved to South from North when her accessibility got limited. Suppression continue till late 80 in Bollywood Music.

very good point 👏.......Ditto with Vani Jayaram(bole re papihara fame)..Vani Jayaram has stated in many inteviews that there was power politics at play and new singers were being suppressed...she has just stopped short of naming who was responsible.....she too moved South after this.
