When it comes to serials showing Uttar Kand, I am far less stringent about "accuracy" than the first six kandas. I cannot tolerate too many distortions in all the former story, but Uttar Kand is so vague in itself that we kind of need distortions to portray Ram and Sita (particularly Ram) in a noble light. Valmiki's Uttar Kand is believed to be a huge interpolation by many people, because it does not match the style of writing of the rest of his epic, and sometimes I have my own doubts about its validity.
In fact, television shows now have a huge responsibility to repair Ram's reputation which was lost due to 60s mytho movies on the Uttar Kand, which portrayed him almost as a villain in Sita's life.

So to be honest, I absolutely have no problem if serials decide to show a happy Uttar Kand, or deviate greatly from whatever Valmiki's "Uttar Kand" has, as long as the characters of Ram and Sita remain the same. It's why I was so tolerant when Sagars' previous Ramayans showed Sita taking up vanvaas herself, unlike popular opinion. Likewise, I will pretty much accept whatever SKR decides to show as long as Ram and Sita remain noble and virtuous.

Let's have a reunion by all means in the end. Why not? 😆

Though many answers have already been posted I would still like to share what I know. I remember reading devdutt pattanaik's book "the book of ram". He said Ram was confronted with a situation of Dharma Sankat i.e whether to follow the Dharma of a king or husband since both seemed contradicting then. If he follows the Dharma of a husband it would be for his own happiness but if he follows the Dharma of a king it would ensure a stable kingdom and hence happiness of many people. So therefore here Dharma is to follow Dharma of a king bcoz it is for the other. Also we simply say Ram abandoned his wife. But do we realise he too loved her dearly and he equally suffered the pangs of separation. It's a pity that the greatest king of the time , Narayan himself had to take decisions against the two people who loved him the most Sita & Lakshman. But that doesn't mean he was wrong , it was merely the situation and Dharma.
