BEAUTIFUL SURPRISE
A girl dressed in beautiful red gown was pacing here and there constantly looking at her watch. She was standing in front of the gate of their college. It was their prom night and she was waiting for her partner to come.
She was looking no less than an angel today. Everyone passing from her was looking at her only. She was mesmerizing. A guy approached her,
"Hey beautiful... Waiting for your partner?... who is that stupid partner who is making such a beautiful girl wait... anyways leave him... come on we will go together", saying this he extended his hand to hold hers but his hand was stopped in between. Someone held it before it could reach to her
"Dusaro ke partners par ese najre dalna... And that too on Dev Dixit's best friend... Bad manners " he said with a bit attitude with a smirk and charming smile on his face.
"Hey look there, Dev aa gaya ". A girl pointed towards him showing her friends..."Wow, He is looking so handsome". The group of girls standing there were talking. Dev Dixit has that charm which could melt any girl's heart.
"So Mr, She is not alone neither she is free to go with you. Here her partner is". Dev warned him almost jerking his hand away.
That guy quietly left from there knowing messing with Dev Dixit could be dangerous to his health.
Dev looked at the girl who was throwing deadly glares at him. He looked quite frightened seeing the girl's angry face which was giving clear indication as volcano is about burst. He took a step ahead towards her but stopped at right there hearing her.
She asked him almost shouting at him, "Kaha the tum?... kabse wait kar rahi hu mai tumhara... pure twenty minutes late ho tum... Matlab aaj to tumne sari limits hi cross kar di... Kaha the tum?".He was silently listening to her by hanging his head down. A smirk appeared on his face as he thought of something mischievous. Dev thought of using Plan Backfire on her.
"Wa wa wa...matlab dekho ulta kotwal chor ko daante". Dev said clapping his hands.
"Its ulta chor kotwal ko daante". She corrected him narrowing her eyes at him. This was their routine. He always does mistakes in proverbs.
"Haan haan wahi, Mai tumhe pick karne tumhare ghar gaya tha, lekin tum to nikal chuki thi... aunty ne meri favourite kheer banayi thi, to khaye bina kaise ata, Mai tumhe pick karne gaya tha aur tum mujh par hi chilla rahi ho... this is not fair yar". He made a fake sad face looking at the ground.
She was just staring at him without any change of expressions in her. She smiled a bit. Dev saw this and he thought his plan worked but the next moment he got a tight slap on his shoulder,
"LIAR, Jhooth bologe? Mujhse ? Seriously Dev? Bachpan se janti hu tumhe... Best friend hu tumhari...You seriously think you can lie to me? Maine mom se kaha tha ke agar tum ghar aaye to mujhe call kare...,meri abhi mom se bat hui, tum ghar to nahi gaye the... aur aaj mom ne kheer to banayi hi nahi thi... fir Mr Dev Dixit aapne khayi kaise? Try some convincing lies Dev. Better luck next time ". She told him reminding him that she knows him even better than him.
"What is this Sona? Tumhe har bar kaise pata chal jata hai ". Dev frowned and complained like a 3 year old baby at the fact that she always fails his attempt of lying to her.
He finally blurted out giving up, "Ok... Ok...Wo mujhe ghar pe hi late ho gaya, You know na today is Prom Night and you know everyone will be despirate to see Dev Dixit especially all the girls...So I need to look good na...waise to I am born handsome but still...
How am I looking Sona? handsome na?".
"Tum aur handsome? Kuch bhi...Hahaha oh my god...Hahaha"She started laughing.
"Shakal dekhi hai aaine me? Handsome...Hahaha "
"Haan Haan...Iss puri duniya me handsome to sirf tumhara Shaheer Sheikh hi hai, Nahi?". Dev said with a irriatated face.
"Wo to hai", Sonakshi said dreamingly again getting lost into her laughter.
Sonakshi used to admire Shaheer Sheikh a lot which always irritated Dev.
"Hey Dev, Hi Sonakshi", said Arnav while walking towards them.
"Hi Arnav", Sonakshi greeted with a smile.
"Oye Dev, Aaj to tu pura Bandar lag raha", Arnav started teasing him.
At the very next moment he received a playful slap on his cheek by Sonakshi.
"Don't Arnav...Mere samne agar mere bestfriend ke bare me kuch kaha to ", Sonakshi warned him naughtily while keeping her hand on Dev's shoulder.
"Accha madam, Abhi khud hi Dev ko "Arnav was saying but was cut off by Khushi.
"Kya Arnav tum bhi, Wo dono ek dusre ko kuch bhi kehsakte hai, lekin kisi aur ne kuch kaha to to dono bestfriends chodenge nahi use, Pitna hai kya tumhe ".There came Khushi laughing at Arnav's amused face giving high five to Sonakshi.
"Ok ok... enough of all this now, should we go inside?".Dev said hurriedly but before that he went and hugged Arnav,
"Thanks yar, Bacha liya tune aaj", Dev was relieved as Sonakshi stopped her questioning about getting late.
And they all went inside the party. Dev with Sonakshi and Khushi with Arnav.
Dev and Sonakshi both were complementing each other perfectly. Everyone looking at them was complementing them as they are made for each other.
Dev and Sonakshi were standing when Shaheer came and asked Sonakshi for dance, "May I have the pleasure of dancing with such a beautiful girl?"
Shaheer was their classmate who had crush on Sonakshi and whole college knew about this as he proposed her some months ago but Sonakshi denied him. After that he asked her for only friendship and she agreed.
As soon as Shaheer asked Sonakshi for dance, Sonakshi looked at Dev who was looking very angry and was giving deadly glares to Shaheer. Sonakshi knew Dev doesn't like Shaheer. So she decided to tease him a bit as punishment for coming late. She giggled slightly at her plan.
She gave her hand in Shaheer's hand, "Sure". And they both went to dance floor. Shaheer placed Sonakshi's hand on his shoulder and kept his hand on Sonakshi's waist.Though Sonakshi was feeling uncomfortable due to Shaheer's act but when she saw Dev who was clenching his fist in anger, his eyes were reflecting clearly how much furious he was being from inside, she turned back at Shaheer and started dancing again.
All the time while dancing what Sonakshi was doing was staring at Dev. Dev was getting restless by each passing second by seeing Sonakshi in Shaheer's arms. Though Shaheer had accepted Sonakshi's rejection but he always wanted to be with her, he never did really backoff. He asked Sonakshi for her friendship just to stay near to her so that he could get her one day.
Sonakshi's trance was broken by a sudden force. Shaheer pulled her towards him self with a jerk which left Sonakshi too shocked to react anything. Shaheer leaned forward to kiss her but before he could Sonakshi was pulled back by Dev. Sonakshi held Dev's hand in a tight grip was looking down with her tears falling from her eyes. Sonakshi's tears made Dev more furious. The person will have to pay for it now... who had tried to hurt Sona...his Sona...will have to regret of being alive.
As he tried to remove his hand from her grip she tightened it more, she wasn't ready to leave him. He made her look at him by placing his other hand on her cheek, with assuring her from his eyes that he is and he will always be there for her... he won't let anyone harm her till he is alive, removing his hand from her hold he turned towards Shaheer giving a hard slap on his cheek.
Dev went out of control, he started beating him, "How dare you? How dare you touch her? How dare you try to hurt her? Himmat kaise hui teri? ".He was beating Shaheer like a crazy person.
He went towards the table, picked up the vas and was about to hit it on Shaheer's head but he was stopped by Sonakshi's voice, "Dev ". Sonakshi shouted in fear of Dev might kill him nodding her head negatively at him. Dev looked back at Shaheer and threw the vas on ground causing it to break into pieces.
He went towards Sonakshi, "Chalo", saying so he hold her hand and they left the party. They reached to Dev's car, he left her hand. Removing his jacket he threw it on the road in anger and frustration. He banged his hand hard on bonet of his car. Sonakshi eyes got filled with tears as Dev hurted himself. She always knew Dev could go to any extent to protect her...but to this extent...even she hadn't expected this.
Running towards him, she took his hand in her soft grip and started caressing it softly asking him a bit loudly asking him angrily as he hurt himself, "Dev...What are you doing? Are you mad?"
"No I am not...Its you who is... Aur jao na uske sath dance karne...Go Go", he replied in rude tone jerking her hand away and turning his face towards other side.
But soon turned back listening to her sobs to find her crying by hiding her face in her palms. Dev closed his eyes in regret. His heart broke into million pieces by seeing her crying. He immediately rushed towards her. He removed her hands which were hiding her face and wiped her tears away. Sonakshi looked at him and hugged him tightly as if her life totally depends on him. Dev wrapped his arms around her protectively comforting her. He was caressing her hairs softly asking her to stop crying. After some time Sonakshi calmed down and pulled herself out of the hug.
Sonakshi held her ears with her hands, "Sorry Dev...wo mujhe nahi pata tha ke Shaheer ese...Mai to bas... "
"Mai to bas kya... mujhe irritate karne ke liye uske sath dance kar rahi thi? Jaanta hu mai". Dev told her in a go leaving a surprised and shocked Sonakshi. It's not like that Sonakshi didn't know that Dev understands her the best... But she felt it surprising that he knew that she was dancing with Shaheer just to irritate him.
"Ek wo tumhara Shaheer Sheikh aur ek ye Shaheer... ab to mujhe iss naam se hi nafrat ho rahi hai ", said irriated and frowned Dev.
"Waise Dev... Maine tumhe aaj tak itne gusse me kabhi nahi dekha...You almost killed Shaheer...Tumhe kyu itna farak padta hai if someone misbehaves with me?", Curious Sonakshi asked him.
Dev looked at Sonakshi with amusement by hearing her question. But before Dev could say anything Sonakshi started blabbering when she realised what she just asked, "Mai bhi na... pata nahi kya ho gaya hai mujhe...kaisa sawal pooch rahi hu...ofcourse tumhe farak padega na ham bestfriends jo hai...haan haan..."
Before she could blabber anything else she was cut off by Dev,"Car me baitho ". Before she could protest or ask any questions Dev held her hand, dragged her towards car, opened the door and made her sit inside. He closed the door and himself got inside the car.
"Dev, ham kaha jaa rahe hai? Batao na ", Sonakshi started her questioning him again. Dev turned his head towards Sonakshi, he leaned forward towards her causing Sonakshi's heart to beat faster. Dev glanced at Sonakshi who was staring at him surprisingly. Sonakshi's heart was beating faster and faster. He smirked seeing his effect on her. Bending a little he adjusted her seat belt properly and got back to his original position. Dev drove the car away from the city and he stopped near a lake. Getting out of the car, he opened the door for Sonakshi asking her to come out. Sonakshi hesitantly looked at him, stretching her eyebrows at him, unable to understand what exactly Dev was doing. She came out of the car. Dev closed the door and asked Sonakshi to close her eyes, "Close your eyes"
Sonakshi gave a puzzled look not understanding anything what he was doing, "Huh??"
Dev placed her palm on her eyes shutting her eyes, " I said close your eyes, itni simple si cheez hai... but you have to argue on everything right".
Keeping his one hand on her eyes and one hand on her shoulder, he walked with her near the lake, "Dev... Dev ham kaha jaa rahe hai? Kya hai ye sab? Tum kuch bolte kyu nahi?". Sonakshi was so curious about everything because she could not understand anything, why he brought her there, why he closed her eyes... why he is not saying anything...
Dev stopped walking as they reached their destination and he took off his palm from her eyes asking her to open her eyes, "Open your eyes".
Sonakshi opened her eyes slowly and the sight she saw in front of her eyes mesmerised her. Just in front of the lake, a whole romantic environment was set up. The whole place was decorated with flowers and lights of different shades. Candles were placed on either sides of path made by rose petals from the place they were standing till the table placed at distance from them. A romantic tune was playing on music player placed at little distance from table.
She walked forward exploring the most beautiful scenario she was seeing in front of her eyes. She was too speechless to say anything. Turning back to Dev she called out for him amusingly being awestruck seeing the surrounding, "Dev... ye sab"
Dev was smiling seeing his efforts brought a beautiful smile on his Sonakshi's face. He felt like his efforts paid off.
"Yes Sona... today you will get answers to your all questions... tumne poocha than na ke mujhe itna farak kyu padta hai if someone misbehaves with you... because you are my life Sona... tum jaan ho meri... you are that sunshine in my life who lit up my world by her presence... you are the one because of whom I am breathing... my heart beats because of and for you only... you remember you did an interrogation session with me for coming late to party... and I gave you so many excuses... well I was late because I was preparing this surprise for you... I wanted to make this day special for you".
Dev glanced at his watch and signalled something to someone. Sonakshi who was surprised and amused by the arrangements and whatever Dev said wasn't even come out of her shocked state when she got one more...
Suddenly sounds of firecrackers caught her attention and she looked up only to see sky full of multiple shades of bursting of firecrackers. Her eyes lit up shining with the pleasure of seeing such beautiful scenery. She wasn't able to say anything at all. She just kept staring at sky and Dev as well.
She was amazed and thrilled to witness the beautiful sight which filled her eyes with tears of happiness. Dev walked towards her and sat down on his knees, "Happy Birthday Princess... and after saying so much I guess you know what I meant... I love you Sona... I love you... from the time when I first met you... that time also feelings were same but with time they got more and more mature and deepen for you..."
Sonakshi was literally in tears by now by hearing his sacred and honest love confession.
Dev continued forwarding his hand towards her,"Will you allow me to hold your hand forever?... will you be my girlfriend?... will you marry me?... will you be mother of my kids??"
Sonakshi was too speechless to say anything. She gave her hand in his hand nodded her head upside down positively like a cute kid. Dev smiled at her and held her hand tightly silently promising her to never leave her hand lifetime. Getting up he pulled her into his embrace wrapping his hands protectively around her... and Sona... her eyes reflected the joy and happiness. She didn't say a word but still her eyes spoke everything. They stayed in each other's arms feeling the eternity of moment.
