I do not know. When I was watching today episode there was a lump in my throat. Something like I knew what is coming in the story. Yes it is a story, but in that story I saw a larger perspective today. Freedom of India. The freedom struggle from my history books flashed before my eyes.
India is called the land of knowledge. It is called the nation that accumulates everything, its identity is a mix of everything that has come into it culture. No where in the world you can see a temple, mosque and church side by side. Most of us would have grown up in schools, colleges where we had friends cutting across religions. We would have celebrated Christmas, Diwali and Eid together many times. That's India. Attacked many times. Blood shed many times. But every time our internal strength, our bonding has made us stand up. Nobody has been able to destroy the basic fabric of tolerance in our country.
Today in Swadeenta I saw a girl born to Hindu parents, bought up by Muslim parents. And just like people cutting across religious lines laid their lives for giving freedom to Mother India, just like soldiers cutting across religious lines are still protecting our borders, protecting the soverignity of their motherland, Swadeenta or freedom has 2 brothers. One Hindu, another Muslim. Both are not blood relations. Still they are her brothers.
And for her safety, for the safety of the generations to come in all possibility both are going to sacrifice their lives. We need to know one blast was stopped by Abhay, other by Asad.World might give credit to her Hindu brother, while making her Muslim brother accused.
But can she take it. Can she say her one brother's sacrifice is over and above the other. Should both sacrifice get due recognition.
Isnt it because many times the prejudices makes us not acknowledge certain contributions these terrorists are able to de stabilize our land. Isnt our cultural plurality our greatest strength.
Today iftikaar alias aravind tells they have larger plans. These larger plans are nothing but power games and religion is just a medium for them to get power.
Shouldn't the real message of religion go out which is that of love which is the true power. Shouldn't the current generation acknowledge the pain many families bore to give us this stability.
Freedom is hard fought. It is the duty of every Indian to protect it. safeguard it. Not only for us. But also for the coming generation. Else like Manohar tells in our selfishness we leave an unsafe world for our kids to live.

shruthi, for the first time I cried watching a hindi serial. the Asad-Freedom good bye scene broke my heart. I don't know if I have the courage to watch the next episodes. Swadheenta was right, asad is immature but so lovable. I won't be able to watch his exit

This is an amazing bit of analysis. I just loved it. I thought when she got a brother she might lose one again the relations are forged or defined not by bloodlines but by the ties of the heart. Are you saying she will lose both her brothers? Simi speaking to her unborn baby and the Sinhas conversation and the Qurban has me worried too though its a serial the symbolism is too strong. Again the constant mention NAALAYAK...makes me squirm

as usual amazing analysis shru👏
all i can say is to achieve freedom

" If you want to rebel, rebel from inside the system. That's much more powerful than rebelling outside the system. "

The Cost of Freedom is not a statement about freedom and culture " it is a primal scream " the sum of our questions and desires. It is the raw expression of our lives. It talks about what is ultimately made through the dream of free culture: us.

Today's episode, and the whole story line of this terror mindsets, harakiri on the name of religion, hurting innocent lives & destroying their happiness for lifetime & terror has no religion to terror for religion...is so relevant in times we live in!

today: For me Highlight was almost all major things they played:

1. Swadarsh: A normal- relatablity is what makes them special. And, what hurts more that this might get affected after terror horror.

2. Asad & Iftikhar/Arvind: 2 youths- same religion!
One: raised by Normal, happy Family- Who donot get blinded or divided by religion. Who believe in values.
Other: misguided, in lookout for a power that is perhaps nothing but illusion & also a bitter reality that destroys many peaceful "Normal' lives!
Stark difference : that ranges from life to death! A sad reality!
Difference was shown once again : beautifully : in Morning Namaaz- How & what for Mamu prays & what for Iftikhar prays!

3. Asad & Swadheenta: That Hasta La vista did hurt! and want to say big NO for that. and hoping he gets hurt, gets fixed as accomplice of those 3 terrorists, but he is not lost. That is too much Kurbani.
It is always tought day for bride & her family on her wedding day! Asad & Swadheenta's true bond was heart warming!

I still feel: Asad knows! He asked for aam papad after Arvind called. on any other day he would have shared with Freedom, but today was such a difficult day for him!

4. Suhasini & Manohar's talk: Politics of terror & satte of society:
"Hum jaise hain vaisa hi samaaj bantaa hai, what kind of world are we building for our kids?" -- This is so true! This couple has been in Lyuten's Delhi's power zone!
A Delhi which has vicious circles of :
politics, bureaucracy, NGOs which operate on foreign funds to destabilize sovereignty of our country, Hatemonger Media house which cries wolf on the occasion of elections/ wasted interests: national media that lies big & retracts small, National media that in times of crisis aided terrorists by live streaming Armed forces operations. (Read: Lady of NDTv: during 26/11 & Kargil).
What was striking today was: Every news chanel was showing latest isis video which features escaped terrorist from Delhi's Batla house clean up!
A guy just like Iftikhar/Arvind of Dahleez!
When that happened in 2013: congress went all out against this operation- blames & demoralized our IAS/IPS/Intelligence officers! Soniaji had tears in her eyes was their official statement in sympathy of these terrorists!
(Read this: http://www.mediacrooks.com/2013/07/the-batla-house-deception.html)
Just imagine the pressure officers like Abhay Sinha goes through! They try their best & politicians brings in this fake sympathy to convict honest officers & make terrorists heros!
We all know Ishrat chapter! A declared terrorists by Lashkar e toiba, David hadely- still our terror sympathizer section of politicians & media & NGOs made her hero, "bihar ki beti'!
That is the shame! That is the society we have today! Unfortunately!

Posting another link : GOODWILL TERROR: http://www.mediacrooks.com/2016/05/goodwill-terror.html
DO read, He writes really good! And this young generation needs to understand these nasty elements in our society!

Thanks spdp. Politicians always have sympathy for terrorists. Batla house encounter. Less said the better. A brave officer's life was lost and the so called sympathizers were telling his colleagues shoot him. It is an insult to Mohan Sharma who led the encounter. Media was telling police didn't tell anything. Arrey how can a police and IB plan and execute a top secret mission. Flashing in newspaper.
Ishrat Jahan less said the better. We needed a David Headley to tell what she was upto.
And you forgot some great leaders who felt it necessary to stand in front of the prison where the terrorist Yakub Memom was hanged because they felt great injustice being done, while at the same time India's pride someone belonging to same religion Dr APJ Kalam was being laid to rest in Rameshwaram.
The respect dignity the state, the country, the citizens gave to APJ did it look like that of an intolerant country. He was laid to rest with full state honors.
And recently some politicians had the audacity to justify the chants in certain universities that included " Bharat ki barbaadi ho" in the name of freedom of speech. Does freedom of speech means degrading our country, disrespecting national symbols and making idiots out of the great martyrs of freedom struggle and the soldiers who are still sacrificing.

Yes! APJ Kalam is what we need & unfortunately our country doesn't let many such survive & thrive these days! Hopefully, that is changing!
Being A gujarati- Ahmedabadi: who grew up in riot infested Gujarat of 80s with curfew every alternate year: it blows my mind & hurts the most when Isharats are made heros! It is injustice to so many lives lost due to idiotic terrorists like those! Leaves lifetime of scar to many families who lost their loved ones!

JNU: again they crossed the line! all these corrupt crooks tried their tactics again. Thankfully, social media now is too active & aware! 'Bharat ki barbadi' is never acceptable!
Wish the relgion now does step in to stop terror on the name of religion!
Characters like Haider, Asad are what we need in today's tv!

Dahleez is special: and thankful they atleast tried this!

Thanks Shruthi, it is enriching interacting on your posts, always!

yes sp. We need shows that foster brotherhood, brings in positivity, shows the strength of ethical relations, bonding through love and duty towards country and society is given importance.
We have enough shows that churns out naagins and daayans running around and where scheming and plotting rules, above all sancity of a sacred institution marriage is questioned. It is like changing dresses you change partners and call it the most sanskaari thing to do.

SPDp and Shruthi agree whole heartedly . It looks like many Star plus serials have identical plots.
Conviction for a crime while Gopi got away Ishitha was sentenced to death Meera was sentenced to death...
Revenge of Nidhi Revenge of Gora
Separation of Ruhi Separation of Naira
Meera hated Gopi
Now Ruhi hates Ishitha
Naira hates Akshara

Tamana and Dehleez come as a whiff if fresh air and though finate shows rumoured to go off air abruptly

Marriage is made a mockery of and no relationship seems sacred and folks dont have any qualms about the ties they forge.
Amidst all this we see something beutiful symbolic in many layers appear like a rainbow.
The loud yelling and screaming and mouthing of profanities at prime time seems to earn the so called TRPs...we as a society are getting sucked up in the spewing venom.
