Salman's MPK was first major super hit film overseas. HAHK was first ATBB In overseas collections spare India's verdict. Salman has delivered 9 annual highest grosser. A record where he has just beaten Dilip Kumar. He is the only actor in history hold years 1st and 2nd highest grosser records 4 times (1999, 2011, 2012, 2015). He has 3 films in list of top 10 highest grosser worldwide. Bajrangi Bhaijaan did terrific business overseas and was only behind PK. Yet for some he is just a regional star. Yup. Salaam E Ishq - disaster at Indian BO was success overseas. He has 3 ATBB, 9 Blockbuster to his credit. And yet just a regional star. The heights of being delusional or what?

P.S - Kindly elaborate a bit and inform us on which region is Salman specifically beating SRK in?

He is still not popular overseas except amongst a few groups of NRI.

Many Complain he is the face of Eros that appears on youtube ads.

He rarely if ever is interviewed by large news corporations in other countries as being the face of Bollywood. They will have the prying mind to ask about his court cases.

There was a backlash when he was appointed as the goodwill ambassador for the rio olympics.
Even though other bollywood actors have done it in the past.

He is involved in too many scandals which makes him appear shady.

Aishwaryia is more known overseas than him and people know him as her abusive lover.

As for appeal he is a middle aged man so he is not widely promoted in regards to sex appeal either.

However Salman films have been doing better than SRK lately but that does not lead to popularity.

If so Amir is very popular being one of the first to crack the East Asian market and Europe.

Even though people who dislike him say he has no fans unlike Salman and SRK.
