I don't quite understand the basis on which grades are given and the bottom 3 are chosen .I'm esp,at a loss with Sureshji's way of grading.....In today's(24th episode),we saw that Sagar,Loria and Vasundhara got B+ from Sureshji and A from Sonu....One doesn't have to be an Einstein to guess that they shld be in the bottom 3....but when they announced the bottem 3,Vasundhara was substituted by Anamika!!!how????!!Anamika got A+ from Sureshji....does that mean Sureshji doesn't agree with his own grades?
Today Sureshji was randomly giving grades(I'm sorry to say this, but it was my opinion).....I thought Vasundhara did a pretty good job,but she got B+(ok,so let me presume Sureshji is strict with his grades)...Rohit did a very good job(lost sur only once due to jumping) ,but otherwise he was bang on with expressions, tune and sur in other places. I'm sure the jumping was Zee's idea and Rohit got chided for it.And...lo and behold,he still gets a B+.....Ok ,I thought,Sureshji is the strict teacher who doesn't tolerate even mild mistakes.....Then Loria gets B+, I was taken aback,...Loria was not in sur at all.......B+ to Loria and B+ to Rohit..,...does that mean they were equal? Wasn't Rohit far superior? Ok,I console myself, Rohit was at the high end of B+ and Loria at the low end..makes sense,right?....Well,now comes the shocker....Smita gets A...Now,yeh kaisa insaaf hai?Smita was totally off key, almost thruout the song, and she gets A (Coz she made a sad face?) and Rohit gets B+.. ...I'm lost hereš..........and more to come.....Anamika gets A+,now isn't that going too far,she was not that outstanding......
Can anyone explain/make sense of this grading? To top it all ,once Sureshji remarked something like'mere liye, personally, sur sabse zaroori hai, expression kum bhi chal jayega, pur sur ko nahin chodna'.....and then A to Smita......I think one of Sureshji's problems is that he hasn't heard most new songs(maybe he never heard tinka tinka and dil na diya).......Having never heard the original, he didn't have anyone to compare Anamika with...and hence he liked her singing....the same thing worked to Rohit's detriment...the baisc tune of Dil na diya is very simple and the song has some parts like dddddddil etc, which may sound like utter nonsense to a person who has never heard the song before. Since Sureshjii had never heard the song,he had no idea abt its tune, mood, style etc...the song probably sounded like nonsense to him and the result,of course,B+...
I personally think Sureshji was a li'l hard on Rohit and Vasundhara this time.He judges them by the high stds which they themselves set in the initial stages of the performance. He shld,in my opinion,be judging them relative to others.....And not having heard and not liking a song is not a criteria to reduce marks for a singerš..
If u actually read this whole post, then thanx for ur patience š.š.....plz let me know ur opinions š
