Do SRK-Kajol REALLY have chemistry?

Hey!

So, I was wondering whether there are couples who have the kind of chemistry that can rise above the script or is chemistry just a function of factors like storyline, dialogues, the direction etc?

For example, SRK-Kajol are famed for their chemistry, but they couldn't recreate the same thing in Dilwale or did they? They have been lauded for DDLJ, K3G, KHNH but is it more the storyline and dialogues that do the job?

RanDeep are another couple everyone thinks have fab chemistry, but most people didn't feel it in Bachna Ae Haseena.. It was YJHD which elevated them to that status.

So, is there a thing such as organic chemistry?

Which couples do you think have the most chemistry ? Mention couples whose chemistry rose above the script.

SRK and Kajol do have chemistry. I'll give them that much. But they are a highly overrated jodi for sure. SRK has paired equally well with other actresses but they have been underrated. I think SRK pairs better with Rani and Juhi than Kajol. Just my opinion.

Deepika and Ranbir have amazing chemistry. I really love them together on and off screen.

I think anything that is remotely 'good' gets praised to the skies.

I actually like SRK standalone. Never thought much about his chemistry with others. 😆 I like Saif-SRK's chemistry. Also, Saif-PZ and SRK-Ahsaas had good comic timing in KANK.

RanDeep- I think they have scorching chemistry too, but I remember not feeling it when Bachna Ae Haseeno came out. Like their interviews and YJHD.

They did have chemistry in DDLJ and couple of other movies, but in some cases yes it is overrated.

Btw, since you are speaking about chemistry, lately saw this movie called Sanam Teri Kasam and I was shocked at their intense chemistry!! Lot of ppl are talking about this movie, do check them out if you havent seen them :

Yes they do have an amazing chemistry..i am not a fan of either SRK or kajol but i totally love them as a Jodi...both SRK n Kajol are not much good looking...but they look their best when they are sharing the screen with each other...Another couple whose chemistry I find amazing is Hrithik-Aishwarya...

The above to me is chemistry in it's rawest form. Hardly a dialog, just music and are barely touching. But this is a master class in what chemistry and acting is IMO. Two people who are masters at this and are totally in sync with each other and it rarely happens. The thing is in this movie, Kajol has chemistry with Salman as well, but not like this.

Chemistry is for me that which elevates an ordinary movie into something extra ordinary. Like DDLJ. What is so special about it ? Nothing, except these two and yet it still speaks to two generations now. But it was completely missing in MNIK as it should be because he was playing a person with Asperger's and unless Kajol was playing someone with Asperger's it would be ridiculous if they had chemistry. So definitely role dependent IMO.

SRK has gestures he does with all his heroines, the eye contact, the Jesus pose and it does create chemistry. But no one matches him like Kajol. No one, at least for me.

Deepika and Ranveer are a strange case. The chemistry was in your face in Ram Leela, but it was lessened BM. But I think it was because PC and Ranveer had the unexpected chemistry that came out of nowhere. So it could be scene dependent and how they act in that moment, how they are directed too.

Raj Kapoor and Nargis are just beautiful together because of the chemistry. It just smacks you in the face though it goes up and down. But they did have a romantic relationship so that could be a factor too.

Chemistry is something you will see though. IPKKND is something I never knew existed and I am not much of a TV viewer, but long after it ended I saw 2 or 3 minutes of it on YT and it smacked me in the face. The two actors don't seem to be able to recreate it with others from what little I saw of their work. But if it is there, TV or movies it makes it just beautiful.
