Here's the thing. Dev's family knew and discussed and were viewing this dinner as a potential marriage-alliance meeting. Natasha and her father were pretty obvious and the Dixits were happy and receptive. Natasha was there as a potential match, and even when she first visited the house the family viewed it as such and took her behavior the same way.
Natasha of course is going to try her utmost to behave in the sweet manner she is behaving, and the the underlying intention and meaning was known to all. Natasha serving was an expected formality and signal. When she took the tray, it cemented the intent and both Ishwari's rejection and Ria's offer of help were simply a show for formality. The intent and meaning were clear to all and no one there is objecting.
None of this should be surprising. This is how meetings for matches often are.
