Sairat has now collected Rs 55 crore at the box office! Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has revealed the latest box office collections of the Nagraj Manjule movie. "Marathi film #Sairat continues its VICTORY MARCH... Continues to create HISTORY... Collects 55 cr+ till its 3rd Week Saturday. ATBB," Adarsh said on Twitter this evening.

Like we had reported earlier, Sairat and The Jungle Book were the only two movies that were still houseful in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra as far as the multiplex audience is concerned. No prizes for guessing that Sairat rules the single screen theatres even in non-Marathi pockets.

The movie opened to a tremendous response in theatres in Maharashtra on Friday, April 29, and is going strong in its third week. Top movie stars and directors from Marathi cinema, south and Bollywood havepraised Sairat, including actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan. He said on Twitter on May 9, "Just saw Sairat. I'm heartbroken, still recovering from the shock of the end. Congratulations to Nagraj, Ajay-Atul, Rinku Rajguru, Akash Thosar, Tanaji Galgunde, Arbaaz Shaikh, the entire cast and crew & to Zee. Please watch it if you haven't already."

Aamir Khan's endorsement and also the superb story of Sairat is making sure people are still queuing up to watch it. Also, the acting of newcomer Rinku Rajguru, who is still in school, has been appreciated with a Special Mention at the recently held National Film Awards for 2015. The male lead Akash Thosar is also a rage now. The music by the inimitable Ajay-Atul and direction of the Fandry man Manjule is something to savour.
