I did like Shaswat but can't help feeling disappointed with him. Even I thought he could have intervene a little or try to have a one to one chat with Aryan about his decision. I hope they will give Shaswat more role in his family otherwise he will be a pointless character. What good is to have a father who is well but can't stand up for his kids!

You know I was thinking that CVs were showing a progression in his character. From a quiet good-natured but scared man to an assertive father. But his behavior with David (no matter what David did) and with Kumu in the last episode puts him in really bad light. Also he should have stood by Aryan and asked him not to give in to Ava's unreasonable demand. Why couldn't he talk to Aaru? What about the word he gave to Aaru that never think you are alone. He knows his dad quite well, or at least that's what he had said when Aba planned and took Aaru in his car for the KD ritual.
The CVs did not pay attention to his character. I think they should start adding some meaningfulness to his character. In that selfish and evil family each member is a villain. There is no one to give support to Aaryan or feel the pain of Aaru. So CVs should give some thought into developing Shashwats character. One good person must be there to support AaRa in that criminal family. And they need to show him getting stronger and assertive at least as a father. They should not show his character so inconsistent doing flip flop.
So far they have kept all characters consistent and deserve praise for that. Now it is time to work on Saswat's character.

Loved your analysis, and you were bang on in this beacause the makers have slightly neglected Shaswat character with the inconsistenties and hopefully they will amend this eventually. He is a good character and the writers need to develop more concise dailogues to develop further characterisation in his role. As you have rightly said there should been some acknowledgment or action from Shashwat's part for aaru as he did say he is a father to her. And Iblame the writers in this part for not keeping him in character when storyline are developing.
