Can we give credit to the voices that were in the decade of 90's and 2000 one of the reason for making khans , kumars , kapoors big thing...a legendry song can only be made when a singer voice matching an actor face ...Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu were the voices best sutied for the actors like shahrukh, amir , salman , hrhitik roshan, akhsey kumar ...i can give u an example kal ho na ho , do pal ruka khwaboon ka karwaan the song would not have been a legendary song if sang by any of the today singer because new singers dont have that quality in voice which can pair up well with these legendary actors ... dubbed by arjit, mohit, atif or ankit for shahrukh no sane person could call that a legendary song ...it is a legendary song because of the voice matching perfectly with the actor face/image ... pehla nasha is known as the most romantic song of amir khan ...its a legendary song because of amir but more because of udit narayan voice was perfectly suiting amir khan face in that ...similary salman khan and sonu nigam one of my fav actor singer pair ...like take an example of gerwa ...gerwa is a hit song but it dont have potential to be a legendary timeless song of srk

For me, no. I love listening to old hindi songs especially Rafi listen almost everyday. I wouldn't know half the movies they are from.
In case of Khans, I have loved their movies for themselves, I generally don't remember movies unless it is very famous like Suraj Hua Madham in KKKG and SRK or Baaziaar O Baazigar. If you ask me who sang most, no clue. For Aamir I generally associated QSQT. Salman HAHK. But I listen to 90s songs a lot, but generally don't associate them with the actor or movie if that makes sense but the singer.

I think it is fair to say songs have no part in making a movie star famous, it is most associated with the decade after time has elapsed and most associated with the singer. They do make the singer famous. Most people forget what movie or star "sang" them.

I see things different. I listen to a lot of genres, not just BW. Rock music, 80s pop, Carnatic music, hindustani. So I always give credit to the singers, a song belongs to the person who sang it to me however it came about. It is how it I remember it. BW is such a strange thing because we have the play back phenomenon, but I have never been able to associate a song with a movie or an actor who mouthed it on screen unless they sang it. For me the song belongs to the singer. I can never associate the actor or movie with it. It stands alone. Pehla Nasha is Udit Narayan for me, I forgot Aamir till you mentioned it or the movie name but I remember it as a Udit Narayan song.
