HONGEY JUDA NA HUM
CHAPTER 1
Present
She doesn't even get chance to scream. It is a clean murder. But the culprit wasn't afraid at all. Even if she would have screamed no one would have heard her. Now how can the people on the ground floor who are enjoying the first marriage anniversary of their dear couple Sujal and Kashish, could think about paying attention to anything else other than them?
"Ladies and gentlemen aaj main bohot khush hun. Aaj mere bade bete Sujal aur bahu Kashish ki first anniversary hai. I feel blessed to get such a lovely son and an equally lovely daughter-in-law. Cheers!" saying this Chaitan Garewal raises the toast. Standing with him but maintaining a little distance from him, Sujal sighs in relief as Chaitan Garewal finishes with his speech. Kashish notices all this, standing with him. "Sujal!" she scolds him lightly. Looking towards her, Sujal shakes his head a little and walks away with his glass. Kashish follows him.
They reach a corner, away from others. "Kashish, tum kyun koshish karti rehti ho mujhey aur Papa ko ek karne ki?" asks Sujal in anger, but keeping his voice in check.
(Kashish slow music begins in the background as she explains him)
"Sujal, tum ghar ke badey bete ho. Tum hi agar rishton ki ahmiyat nahi samjhogey to choto ko kon samjhayega? Kal bhagwan na kare agar Hrishi, Varun, Sanjana mein se koi aisi hi kisi baat ko lekar dusro se ladne lage to iss parivaar ka kya hoga? Sub kuch tut kar bikhar jayega", explains Kashish. Placing a hand on his left cheek, Kashish forces Sujal to look towards her. "Wo tumhare Papa hai Sujal! Ladaiyan kis family mein nahi hoti? Par iska matlab ye to nahi na ki hum ek-dusre ko mauka hi na de kuch bolne ka? Iss tarah se duriyan badhti hi rahengi na Sujal?" says Kashish, with expectation that he'll understand what she is trying to tell him. Still thinking about the matter, Sujal hugs Kashish.
* F - Pyar tujhse kia hai,
tujhko apna mana hai.
Saathi har rah pe,
saath humein chalna hai.
Ghum sub seh lenge hum,
tu mere saath agar hai.
Uuf na karein hum zara bhi...,
le chaley tu jis bhi dagar hai.
Tumse hi zindagi hai...,
ho...
Tumse meri har khushi hai,
saath yuhin rehna saathi.
Dil ne apna mana hai,
tujhko humrahi.
Thodasa pyar hua hai,
thoda hai baki.

"Neha tumhe kal hi ye raag sikhaya, tum kaise seekh paogi itni jaldi han? You don't worry ek baar firse koshish karo. I am sure you'll be able to sing", Naina tries to explain to her student. "Naina beta, Rajveer ka phone aya hai" informs her mother, reaching her room. Listening to this, Naina holds her locket tightly and tries to calm down her breathing rate. "Ji Ma abhi ayi" she tells her mother. "Tum sub ye practice karo, main abhi aati hun" instructing her students, she gets up and adjusts her pink saree with white border. She walks towards the living room of her home, taking each step slowly, anticipating what they are going to talk about. What will she say? What will he ask or reply?
Soon she realizes that she has reached the phone. She picks up the receiver and stays quiet, still mustering courage to speak up, that suddenly she hears his voice "Naina!"
* F - Dhadkane ye ruk jati hain,
Sunti hun jab teri baatein.
Ye honth bhi sil jate hain,
Kehna chahun jab dil ki baatein.
(Aankhein kyun jhuk jati hain,
aaye mujhey kyun sharam?) 2
la... (tune of the line 'aankhein bhi hoti hai dil ki zuban)
"Hello!" she greets him formally. "Ahmm... main wapas aa raha hun" he informs her seriously. Although there is nothing new in it, he does come home occasionally and every time before coming back home, he calls her to inform her the same, but each time, this line succeeds in skipping her heartbeat. "Hmm..." she keeps it short, as always and expects him to reply back with a 'bye' and ending the call, but this time to her surprise he doesn't follow the suit! "Kya apko kuch aur bhi kehna hai?" she asks him, sensing that he wants to tell her something else too. "Hmm..." he replies. Naina waits patiently for him to elaborate. "Naina, main chahta hun ki ab jab main wapas aun, to tum bhi mere saath yahan aa jao" he shares his desire with her. His words succeed in skipping her heartbeat. "Main?" she asks, creasing her brows. "Kyun nahi Naina? Tum meri patni ho. Tumhe mere saath rehna chahiye" he tells her, raising his voice a little. 'Tum meri patni ho!' succeeds in making her to blush, and fills her eyes with tears. That's the first time he has addressed her as his wife openely. But suddenly she remembers, "Pooja, Alekh, Ali, Huda, Yudi sub honge wahan" she shares her concern with him. "Nahi main wahan nahi aana chahti" she tells him. "Oh for god's sake Naina, to kya hua wo hain to? Tum kab tak unse bhagti rahogi? Accept it, tum KMA se aur KMA tum se kabhi durr nahi ho sakta" he scolds her mildly.
She knows if she talks about it more, he'll get angrier, so she tries to make another excuse to escape from this situation, "mere students hain yahan, unka kya? Main aise inhe nahi chor sakti". "Tum apne pati ko akela chor sakti ho, par students ko nahi?" asks Rajveer, creasing his brows, raising his voice.
(Rajveer-Naina fast tune begins in the background)
"Main... main janta hun ki tumne ab tak humare iss rishte ko accept nahi kia hai par..." he was about to say further when Naina interrupts him, "aap kab aa rahe hain?" Rajveer realizes that she doesn't want to listen to what he wants to tell her regarding the topic of their relationship.
He shakes his head in frustration, closing his eyes. "Main bus nikal raha hun. Shaam tak pohnch jaunga. Tum tayar rehna" he orders her. "Hmm!" is her only reply. They remain quiet for sometime. Rajveer breaks the silence, "bye!" he says slowly, as if he doesn't really mean it. "Bye!" she replies back, almost like a whisper. But none of them hangs up the call. They remain quiet, listening to each-other's breathing.
After few moments of silence, Rajveer breaks the silence and asks, "tum class le rahi thi?" "Hmm...!" she replies, lowering her eyes, as if he is standing in front of her. "Kya tumhe 'hmm...' ke alawa kuch bolna aata hai?" asks Rajveer, scolding her mildly. "Kya apko mujhey dantne ke alawa kuch aur aata hai?" asks back Naina. Rajveer laughs silently at her question. "Tum kabhi nahi badlogi na?" "Matlab?", she asks, creasing her brows. "Mera koi bhi student mujhey iss tarah se question nahi karta, na tab karta tha. Except you!" Getting straight she replies back confidently, "main ab apki student nahi hun". Listening to this, Rajveer laughs, "hahaha! Tum humesha yahi kehti ho" "Aur aap fir bhi humesha mujhey apna student keh kar address karte ho" answers back Naina. "Humesha kahan? Bus tab jab mujhey tumhe tang karna hota hai" smiles Rajveer. "Tang to aap mujhey tabse kar rahe hain, jabse aap meri zindagi mein aye hain!" mummers Naina. "Kya?" he asks, trying to hide his smile as he hears what she mummers, thinking that he won't notice. "Nahi, kuch nahi" she says, trying to change the topic.
"Naina!" "Hmm..." "Hum ek dusre se baat kyun nahi karte?" His sudden bold question makes her heart to skip a beat. She remains silent for sometime. "Naina?" he prompts. "Kar to rahe hain baat" she replies. "Bus ek dusre se apne dil ki baat share nahi karte" "Kyun?" he asks, whispering.
Sighing she rests her head on the wall and stares towards the ceiling. "Jab main apki student thi, mentorship camp se pehle jab apne mujhey apne room mein milne ko bulaya tha, apne kaha tha ki - meri zindagi mein bhi wo ladka ayega, ya shayad aa chuka hai! Aap kis ke barey mein baat kar rahe the?" she asks, without any expectation that he'll reply. "Kya apne mujhey bataya? Kyun? Kyun nahi bataya?"
"Uss din jab Huda se meri shart lagi thi aur maine saree pehni thi, tab aap mujhse kuch kehna chahte the. Bohot.kuch.kehna chahte the!" she reminds him, her last words reflect her pain on having failed to listen to what he wanted to tell her. "Kya apne mujhey bataya? Kyun?"
Then she converts her hand into a fist, as she tries to control her breathing rate as she remembers the next incident. Shutting her eyes tightly, as she knows it too well, that what affect will her words have on him and also on her, holding her breath, she asks, "jab hum 'POINT 1857' gaye the..." as she reaches up to just 'the' she hears the sharp intake of his breath which makes her go weak on her knees. But she controls herself, determined to make him suffer more, torture him by her words, which she knows she will never be able to do when she'll be with him! "Tab bhi aap bohot kuch..." out of frustration and anger, tears start rolling down her cheeks, which makes her to pause her conversation. "Naina...!" he whispers, creasing his brows, not able to withstand the truth that she is crying that too on his account. His eyes on the verge of getting tears too, out of helplessness.
(Fast Rajveer-Naina tune begins in the background)
When he doesn't say anything further, she controls her feelings, closing her eyes. Opening them she bids him 'bye', "bye! Sambhal kar aana aap" saying this, she doesn't wait for his reply and keeps the receiver down. Tears roll down her cheeks as she remembers the moments they shared in KMA.

"Miss Kashyap ko mere cabin mein bhejo!" orders Kabeer Sharma, the Editor-in-chief of KKN news channel and keeps the receiver down. Laying back at his chair he thinks about Ananya. 'Sir mere joining letter mein ye likha tha ki subah 8 baje se raat ke 8 baje tak mere duty hours hain. Aap mujhey issey zada time ke liye aise yahan nahi rok sakte, samjhe aap?'
The knock at the door brings him out of his thoughts. He finds Ananya standing behind the glass door. The lines of nervousness on her face makes him to sigh in relief. 'Chalo Miss Kashyap kam se kam apko ye to realize hua ki apne kuch galat kia hai. You are to feel nervous. Good for you' thinks Kabeer. He nods his head, indicating her to get in.
Getting inside the cabin, a bit nervously, she closes the glass door behind her and stands behind the seats in front of her and stares towards Kabeer Sharma, sitting at his chair behind his working table. She takes her time to register silently what he is wearing - a white lenin shirt under his dark blue coat and a pair of dark blue denim, complimenting his suit. Likewise Kabeer too checks out her. In her yellow sleeveless top paired with a pair of black jeans, her curly hair tied up into a pony tail and her big round glasses, she looks simple and cute.
"Ahmm... apne mujhey bulaya tha Sir?" she asks nervously. Clearing his throat, he rotates his chair, so that he is facing directly towards her and gets all business. "Yes, Miss Kashyap!" "Miss Kashyap, apne mujhey ye to yaad dila diya tha kal ki apke joining letter mein apke working hours ke barey mein kya likha tha, par kya apne ye read kia tha ki apki 'working' ke barey mein kya likha tha?" he asks her, rotating the small glass globe, kept at his desk, his eyes focused on the globe but his mind fully aware about even a minute action of Ananya. "Matlab?" she asks, unable to comprehend with his words. "Apko kal 'Mehra Case' ki CD check karne ko kaha gaya tha. Kya apne check ki?" he asks her. "But Sir wo kaam to Ronnie ka hai na? Kal wo nahi tha isliye apne mujhey kaha tha. But ab wo aa gaya hai, maine uska kaam ussey de dia hai". Listening to her answer, he gets angry and holds the globe in order to stop it's rotation.
(Kabeer's fast background tune begins in the background)
He gets up and walks towards her, looking directly into her eyes, his own eyes blazing with anger. His forward steps forces her to take her steps backward. "Ronnie aa gaya tha to aap apna kaam adhura chor dengi? Miss Kashyap apni responsibility ko pura karna seekhiye aap" he scolds her, and as he completes this line, her back touches the wall of his cabin. Kabeer places his hands on either side of her face, on the wall, such that he is hovering her.
