I don't really post here but I've ended up watching the movie 4 times since last Sunday. I literally expected nothing from it, I remember I had seen the trailer when I went to see Bajirao Mastani and thought it looked visually appealing but brushed away thinking the actors will be meh! But to my surprise they were actually really really good! I'd probably say the first half had quite a few 'melodramatic' flaws but the scenes between Inder & Saru were heartwarming. It's the second half which I find SO BEAUTIFUL, like I've never cried for fictional lovers on the big screen but this one made me tear up. Their relationship was so heartwrenching. The things he did for her <3 Their moments and chemistry kept getting better and better.

- His love notes in the books
- Finding a house for her
- The makeover
- The list of the IIT & IIM guys
- Tera Chehra sequence...all of it! Her being left heartbroken, asking him why he didn't punch that abhimanyu. It's genuinely one of the most romantic scenes I've seen in a LONG time
- Inder finding Saru & sequence in the jungle
- Title song sequence & the proposal ;(
- THE LIBRARY SCENE <3333
- The small conversation before the wedding day - their chemistry is just <3
- The wedding vows
- Climax which really got to me.

Even on IMDB it rates at 7.5 which is amazing. Its unfortunate that people (like me) saw the beauty of the love story a bit too late but nevertheless I loved it & I definitely rate it over Aashiqui 2 which I find rather overrated as a tragic love story. I'm not sure if enough people watched STK but I HIGHLY recommend it. I'm a 90s kid and it reminded me of that old world mushy intense love which I grew up watching.

Harsh & Mawra are magic together! They need to come back in a movie, preferably a happy one. It's the best chemistry I've seen in years...!

Definitely! I don't think there any other known female debuts coming out this year?! So Mawra should easily win the debut awards. Unfortunately Harshvardhan might have no chance against the other Harshvardhan KAPOOR :(

But both acted so well, they deserve to go places!

Mawra has Mahira as a big competition this year.

There are many debutants this year-Mahira, Saiyami Kher in Mirziya, Pooja Hegde in Mohenjo Daro, Sayesha Sehgal in Shivay apart from Mawra. Mawra is probably the least high profile. Many people seem to have liked this movie. Perhaps it needed a better PH to promote it well.

Oh I forgot about Mahira!! Hmm. Guess she doesn't have it that easy after all.

But still they've done such a splendid job! I hope someone signs them together again. I would say give them the best jodi award (from the movies I've seen this year) but won't happen.

I think they have got themselves a very decent fan following on social media from the looks of it.

I think this film was a pleasant surprise for all viewers. You weren't the only one with zero expectations and it isn't our fault really because the director duo's last film was so useless. But it generated such a positive WOM around me that I just had to get hold of a copy and see for myself what everyone was raving about. And oh dear, how I wish I had seen this in the movie theatre! This is the kind of honest and heartwarming love story I've been missing watching in this last decade.

Harshvardhan and Mawra are both very experienced actors outside of Bollywood and that showed in the finesse of their performances. I am not sure because of how the industry works but I really hope they make it big <33

P.S. Aashiqui 2 did nothing whatsoever for me apart from the music. And that is the general opinion I have seen around me as well.

I don't care about any criticism w.r.t. this film. It's probably going down in my list of favourite young love stories. I think I've watched it at least 5 times by now. Harsh and Mawra are pure magic.

I know right! I think the last love story I really loved was Band Baaja Baarat and before that Hum Tum. There were a string of love stories in the 90s and early 00s which became a habit to watch. But for some reason the last decade or so has had that kind of magic missing completely. Yeh I agree about A2, it's actually a very mediocre movie which doesn't leave you with much except the music. Shraddha & Aditya had good chemistry but Harsh & Mawra were just innately intense throughout. That tera chehra sequence was just...like I don't care for kisses or lovemaking scenes but theirs was so apt.

Completely agree!
This movie is sooo underrated. Even now when I recommend it to someone, they stare at me as if I told them to watch some trash 🤔 This movie wasn't promoted at all. The actors were so good and their chemistry was the best I saw in Bollywood after so long. Yet no one seems to take notice. I watched this movie randomly because I found the trailer intriguing. Otherwise I would have definitely missed this gem.

And so true about this being way better than Ashiqui 2 in every aspect. I loved that movie but this one had something that really touched my heart. Saru and Inder literally left a mark.

I do wish that this time talent wins over nepotism and these two get some awards.
