'Salman's a perfectionist'

He's Bollywood's most eligible bachelor. So imagine him giving gyaan on the after-effects of a shaadi!
Yes, the enfant terrible of B-town, Salman Khan, will be doing precisely that — talking about shaadis and telling young men how to cope with marital life with tongue-in-cheek advice — in Indrajit Lankesh's Bollywood debut Shaadi Ke After Effects, produced by Ashok Kheny. The film, which stars Arbaas Khan, Tara Sharma and Malaika Arora Khan, will see Sallu playing the sutradhar of the story.
For Indrajit, the first Kannada director to work with Salman, it's been a dream come true to work with the actor. "And the idea to feature Salman in the film popped up in Goa when Arbaaz and I were shooting there. And the next thing I know is Salman's asking me if his dates were convenient for me! He's the most misunderstood guy in the industry and is not the arrogant sort he's made out to be," says Indrajit.
Elaborating on the role, the director says Salman plays a love guru who helps both bachelors and shaadi shudas handle women. And they worked for three days together and Indrajit has returned impressed. "Sallu goes out of his way to help you and improvises on the script. And after every shot, he kept asking if we needed another take; he's a perfectionist," says Indrajit.
Meanwhile, the director has also bought the rights of the blockbuster Deewar and will be working closely with the actor's scriptwriter father, Salim Khan." Deewar is my all-time favourite film and Salim saab has agreed to doctor the script for my version. It's a very special family," he says. And on his visits to the Khan household, did he bump into Katrina? "I'm not saying anything except that some of the biggest people in B-town are often spotted in their house," is the cheeky reply.
